Does Battleye slow down Grand theft auto V?

In this video I do some testing to see if the Battleye anti cheat service affects the performance of Grand theft auto 5 during gameplay.
The decision to add the Battleye service by Rockstar games came as a surprise as a n update for the PC version of the game had made quite a few changes to the gameplay experience of the game depending on the platform.
Linux and Mac users are currently unable to play grand theft auto 5 as a result of the addition of Battleye.

Cheaters found a way to make battle-eye detect honest players for cheating, to blacklist them forcing them to be stuck with joining lobbies that are meant for cheaters only.

From Kiddion's moderators: "We regret to inform you that Modest Menu will no longer be receiving any support or updates. This decision was already made by Kiddion last June, and it didn't have anything to do with the recent addition of BattlEye. This marks the 7th and last year in which Modest Menu has been provided publically to GTA users free of charge."

Anything above 120 stutters like hell on gta thats why i keep it locked at 120 with a ryzen 5 7600 since it also reaches 170 on gta easily..

Rockstar will never have a cheater free experience on PC. The closest thing to that you can get is FiveM but everyone already technically already has a mod menu or some kind of weaker roleplay oriented version of it. The only way you can avoid cheaters in GTA O is to play solo console lobbies because even pubs have scumbags EXPLOITING because they just flat out cannot inject the cheats. And when you think about it, compared to old GTA's, GTA Online without any mods is like having mods in GTA 4! You can open a menu at any time that can spawn you ammo, bst, give you CEO perks, summon a rocket bike, rocket car, or regular super cars, make you unkillable to standard gunfire, change where you spawn, etc. GTA:O Revolves WAY too hard around the interaction menu. In the story mode it served a fairer set of functions, letting you pick your accessories hats and mask, set quick GPS or go into director mode. Impromptu races, targeting mode and MAYBE passive mode are the only three options that don't seem like. Also, BattlEye for GTA 5 only means that I'm probably going to have to VM windows If I wanna play GTA 6 on PC 3 years or so from now, at worse performance that it should be because useless anti-cheat. Anticheat is comparable to either gun control or dealing with rapidly reproducing insects. You cannot use methods that just force them to adapt, you need something they cannot surmount through evolution or permutation. For various incests its diatomaceous earth, for gun control, ensure the entire population is armed. For gaming? Well, I think the only *absolute* solution such as the examples previously mentioned is to play on consoles, or by yourself on PC. And even then, solo on PC is still vulnerable and pubs on console are toxic sweaty tryhard fests with everyone trying to prove their digital ego. You almost can't win as a Rockstar fan these days

Screw this friendly modders idea. This whole concept is ridiculous BS. These heroic kids will see you when you travel to your bunker in your mk2 and then crash your game because there happens to be a guy selling product on the way. Also every mod download literally stimulates the whole industry. It's like saying paying for an OF is better than getting a girlfriend because girlfriends require effort to keep with you. Throwing sand over a problem doesn't fix it.

online yes, def see an fps drop it can vary depending on your system. SP should not affect the game itself, but it can affect your system overall if it's running, just another service running in the background like antivirus

For people that have lower end hardware the anti cheat actually can indeed lower their performance. Of course that doesn't happen with high end hardware like what you have, what did you expect? Plus, a benchmark video with a bottleneck? It makes no sense

Not only in gta but if I try to play any other game before reseting the system it tanks the performance even more. In eso I had 5 min loading screens every 10 meters I walked. I while other game don't even work at all.

Everybody quit yapping about the CPU. It is more than capable for handling everything in GTA 5. It would be a bottleneck if he would play the newest of the newest games, but it is definitely not a bottleneck when it comes to GTA 5.

Hot take, but dawg i have a 4080 super and i get way better fps than what youre getting, in my benchmarks im constantly at 140+ and in the mountain ranges with a lot of grass it dips to 110 ish, i have a ryzen 7 7800x3d however so i dont get bottlenecked, i made sure to get a great cpu to pair with a high end gpu for the best performance, if youre gonna get a high end gpu you might as well upgrade the cpu with it

I believe gta is better with battleye, I used to have to mod to not be crashed every few mins, now I’ve been able to fight without being injected for hours. I have been removed because of “ untrusted host” and I’ve been modded on about 4 times

Of course with i9 that was high end flagship cpu and way above recommended requirements for the 10 year old game it won't be noticeable dips, because of more cores and threads, the weaker the cpu the more performance hit. I have now potato i5 4460 and before bloatware-eye the game was mostly running smooth 60fps locked, now on the demanding city parts where i would get 60 sometimes dipping to 55 in worst case scenario i'm on 50s fps, i can't even get 60fps locked most of the times and now it sometimes gets to mid 40s in invite only session and that never happened before, also one of the cores is always on 30% higher usage due to cancer bloatware. Funny thing is that this won't stop mods in longer run, game will run worse and leaving backdoor to pc for hackers to potentially wreck havoc. R* of course doesn't care and they will never remove this bloat... I used to play gtao few times a week, because i enjoyed smooth imvite only grind, now i'm planning oto only play for clothing unlock and when they release new gtao update including dripfeed content. Nice job rockshart.
