Beto deserves a chance. The problem is the style of play. Beto will struggle if he’s isolated up front, especially if it’s launched in the air to him in some kind of quarterback tactic. Beto is effective with balls slid in behind the defence and him running on to it - I can’t see that with Dycheball.

Please stop using DCL's "hold up play" as a justification for him being in the team. Him holding up the ball doesn't result in him or anyone else in the team scoring goals, so that should just be binned as a argument. Couple that with the fact that he looks disinterested and clearly doesn't want to be at the club, the question should more be does DCL deserve to be dropped rather than does Beto deserve to start. No other team, manager, or fanbase in the league would be satisfied and just endlessly persist with a striker who doesn't score goals and doesn't want to be at their club.

@@michaelh878 I don't give a shit because I'm not a footballing relic like Sean Dyche and don't subscribe to ancient tactics that aren't aimed at scoring goals. We'd have a lot more than 30% possession if we kept opposing defenses under pressure and actually had a striker in the box keeping their defenders occupied, instead of milling about the center circle like DCL does. He's not aggressive, he's not sharp, he's not focused on Everton. He shouldn't just be rubber-stamped as a starter because Sean Dyche lives for 0-0.

@@me213516 who ever plays upfront the front man is going to isolated….if anything needs to change it’s our tactics and formation….more chance of scoring a goal with 2 forwards on the field… the other teams defenders just have easy day game after game….not getting the ball into the box enough pressing and pressure on there defenders every game…long ball most of time witch mostly goes to opposition….thats why are possession is so bad home and away…..but Dyche will never change that…plays for a point not a win..

Yes, 100% I've been saying this for weeks now. Calvert-Lewin is doing nothing except firing blanks, and getting nowhere near to doing what he's being paid to do, and that is to score goals. Personally I think he's just biding his time until the end of the season and hoping he'll get one last decent deal from a big club, but I'd say that they're just wasting their money, as he's vastly overated. So yes, it's time to bench Calvert-Lewin, and give big man Beto a starting chance, because at this point we have literally nothing to lose.

We wouldn’t be in the same position next season tho after Xmas would we if moyes took over, the comments about moyes are a bit derogatory he’s a good manager/coach and would have us at least mid table by early next season if not this season.

Yes he does 100% Dcl has been awful for goal return for last 3 years. Works hard and team don't always help Dcl but his finishing is dire.

Whatever happened to everton fans wanting 4-3-3, if Dyche wants too play Long, why not DCL, Beto + whoever you Think fits😊, use the players you have, if i was DCL i Think that i would Think about staying if had support up front??. DCL not a traditional poacher/ forward why not give him more options with the passes he produces ?

Dom should have at least 5 goals already this season but his finishing is awful, he can look disinterested as much as he wants but the chances he gets he almost never takes . He is a bang average striker and needs to be dropped
