Having someone break down the different types of disorders that our "favorite" (eek, I hate to say that, kind of) serial killers/true crime people, is great!! It's an untapped genre!! We all wonder what it is that can make these people do what they do.. So this is very entertaining!! Plus you have a great energy about you and an awesome way of making these "non" diagnoses make sense to us layman people 😂 Thanks for what you do!! I'm excited to become a new subscriber 😁

I worked in a Psych ward for about six years with minimal medical or clinical training. Even though I always kept my opinions to myself, I was able to observe hundreds of patients over the years. I was very accurate at predicting Borderline Personality Disorder, BiPolar, and even Schizophrenia. The general public would be shocked if they truly knew how many people are walking around with very serious mental health issues. 🤔
@HumanimalChannel2 жыл бұрын
We could look at that as Many people MANAGE and mask As they suffer, and learn to live, with serious conditions Some people like this Withdraw from friends and society As opposed to always forcing themselves and their difficulties on others. We should be careful not to stigmatise mental illness Personality disorders are more difficult

In view of his academic knowledge of the criminal justice system it's puzzling how incompetent he was in committing his crime. For instance, in his dozen or so visits to the area prior to the night of the crime, he neglected to switch off his cell phone leaving a trail of digital clues. He also used his own car for both the crime and the reconnaissance. He also managed to leave DNA behind at the scene. And so on. So, the cops were able to identify him pretty promptly.

@@lorimiller4301 It's the Achilles heel of many mental disorders: They think they're smarter than everyone else and / or that they're never going to get caught. Their overconfidence is woven into their plan and for that reason, they don't account for how the adrenaline punch they'll get in the moment and it's during that unaccounted for component of the crime where they make dumb mistakes. One day, I was in a crappy mood, she said it once again, and I called her on it. The look she gave me, was sincere confusion. I asked her "Why would Mark Zuckerberg be trying to contact YOU? She looked at me like I was the one who was nuts. So, I just let it go. A few months later, she had a severe breakdown. She was taken by ambulance to the psych-ward at the hospital, where she got counseling, and some short-term meds. When she came home, around three weeks later, she was fine. And she's been fine ever since.

It feels unfair to Othello that this particular delusion was known as Othello syndrome, since the person suffering from it would not be adopting the traits of Othello so much as they would be both Othello and Iago, both the insecure Othello who loves their romantic partner and the driven, foundationless Iago convincing themselves of their own lover's infidelity using insignificant and meaningless signs. Interestingly, antisocial personality disorder always makes me think of Iago, when he is asked why he caused this utter and hateful destruction after his evil deeds are discovered at the end of the play and he is imprisoned and replies, "Demand me nothing. What you know, you know. From this time forth, I never will speak word." And he says nothing for the rest of the play. During his lengthy speech during his sentencing, Darrell Brooks said, “The why, the how... How could life ever get this far away from what it should be? Regardless of what a lot of people may think about me, about who I am, about my family, about my beliefs, I know who I am. God knows who I am, and I don’t have any words of anger.”

Well, I know he was a psychology student at one time. I could be wrong, but I feel that his is living out a fantasy. He's crazy like a fox. It's a big game to him. I wouldn't be surprised if he planted the evidence against him. He was obsessed with the life of serial killers. Thus, he needed to become one to walk in their shoes, feel what they we're feeling. That's why his survey always asked, "What we're you feeling?" Now he is basking in the glory of media attention, and he's the talk of the town; the fame he saw other serial killers experiencing. I can't help but feel like he has a trick up his sleeve that he thinks will exonerate him. The police had better get the goods on him or he will walk. (I admit I am not a criminologist or psychologist or any kind of "ologist" for that matter; just theorizing like everybody else!)
