There's no practical use for it aside from doing exactly what they are doing. Its probably expensive to make and its a world of liability claims. Lol! I can just see some 10 year old getting his head cut off because a metal shield flew at his head. And in real world applications, magnet cling only works with two attractive surfaces so it limits a lot. I tried putting a few Rare Earth magnets in a leather holster to keep a hammer or hatchet easier to access in the woods. I was constantly having to manage my hatchet and ended up just lashing it to the holster. Then I forgot and got near my truck and the hatchet and holster immediately latched to it.

That shield isn't really bulletproof - the dents the arrows put in it prove that. Unless we find some real vibranium, I doubt something as thin as Cap's sheild could ever take the kind of beating it would need to.
