I'd say yes but not anytime in the next 10 years or so. Time has to pass to really appreciate a player that was elite for so long. No cups obviously hurts his chances. A bummer he was carrying alot of teams too as offensively we werent the best. Price won so many individual awards and even won the Hart trophy as a goalie so Price was very special. I feel like a guy like Koivu deserves one as well. Grew up watching Koivu and all he went through. A great captian and even more an awesome human being. So yes for Price but in the near future! What's the hold up for Koivu! Get him up there! 🎉

Price had moments of absolute brilliance. He played for mediocre CH teams and carried most of the load. The Cup runs he was supernatural. Close but, without Cups to show for it, no.

No he did his job well for the most part but being the best of a horrible batch of Habs Teams shouldn't get you the retired jersey in the rafters honour. There are plenty of Habs who were fantastic hockey players and they were part of winning championship teams, yet not all of them have their jersey and number hoisted to the lofty rafters. I loved watching Carey do his thing, sometimes incredible saves, certainly very exciting at times, but he also had a lot of terrible shots go in on him. I will always appreciate his play and I truly thought that Bob Gainey getting Carey was the key to the puzzle to satisfy all of the Habs fans and reward a 25th Cup ......but it didn't happen. My vote for what it's worth is No jersey retirement at this point in time. perhaps if the Cup drought continues for another 10 yrs or so,then to appease older fans then do an honorary number retirement, I hope the drought is over soon and we stop living in the past and have a new reason to celebrate. Go Habs Go

A horrible batch of Habs teams that performed better than Toronto who supposedly had better players, right?

NO!!! No cup, never even reaching a Stanley Cup final, other than the Covid year which does not count, he does not deserve sweater retirement. As for the Hall of Fame, I have no problem with him going in for his Olympic and World Cup play, but not as an NHL goalie and not wearing a habs sweater.

No. Look, I don't even watch Hockey, but everyone in the world and their dog knows the name Wayne Gretsky, so it makes sense Gretsky's number was retired. I can ask 1,000 people on the street who Carey Price is, and the majority of them won't have a clue. He's not that important.
