You expressed my thoughts exactly. I too am a Leafs fan and have hated the Habs since at least 1960. Carey Price 🏒outstanding goalie🥅 deserves all the accolades and awards🏆 that he has received. Also, him I like and I don't hate the Canadiens any more🙂.

Carey Price undeniably deserved a cup. That 2021 run seemed like the last hurrah for both him and Webber, as well as the core of the team, with a large portion of it departing in that off-season. It's genuinely heartbreaking that his career was cut so short when his prime seemed never-ending.

As a lifelong DIEHARD BRUINS FANATIC (nearly 40 years which includes the first 19 years where I grew up in Boston 6 miles from The Garden/Fleetcenter before I left for the military and never moved back) I have to say this, CAREY PRICE WAS AN ABSOLUTE MONSTER!! Always HATED playing against him especially in the playoffs because every HONEST B’s fan can acknowledge that he was MORE THAN CAPABLE of shutting ANYONE DOWN ON ANY PARTICULAR DAY!! He could take over and will his teams to victory. I’m just sorry he never won a Cup because he deserved it without question. For many years he was just about the ONLY THING THE CANADIENS HAD GOING FOR THEM!!

Great video! The only thing is you overlooked the very last game he played; the 10-2 win against the Panthers, which had a lot of very touching moments because everyone in the stadium had a feeling that it was Carey's last game, right down to saluting his family in the stands, and the crowd cheering him on, while the clock counted the final seconds of the last period of his last NHL game. It legitimately brought tears to my eyes because I knew that was it. And it was one hell of a game to finish on, even if a majority of the Panthers were sidelined to protect them for the playoffs.

Yes as a born Torontonian. I can say I'm NOT a Habs fan. However I have the highest respect for Carey Price, not just on ice but off ice as well. I truly wish more Canadian's (born here or with paperwork) would have his courage and determination to stand up for what is right; even or especially when the public at large is watching. I wish him all the best in his life and hope he finds the truth and is able to really pass on to his family the best values and character that is truly worth passing on. All the best Carey.

Do you know how your statement sounds? On one hand Price pops painkillers like candy because he's in so much pain yet he can still participate in rodeo events where bulls and horses shake your body violently. The $10.5 American pay cheaque does wonders to heal addicts it seems.
@DudleyDoright-ru2ch

@@appletile2887 My statement was very clear and your interpretation was your own. He loves rodeo and could not do that while under contract. Your drug addiction narrative indicates a bias that is very clearly stated by you. The single worst mistake Bergevin ever made was giving Price the 10.5 mill per year. Aside from four weeks in the 2021 playoffs, he took the money and ran. It was Price who let the team, his teammates, and Habs fans down, not Bergevin.

Carey Price was a beast! Around 2009 to 2011 is when I got into hockey. Remember seeing him going against my Flyers in that playoff series! Price should be a HOF, even without getting a ring since it wasn’t all his fault, when you can’t build around him correctly!
@Fouetzky
@Fouetzky 8 ай бұрын
Crazy to say some people still say Price choked in big games, while his numbers in Hamilton during the Calder Cup, at the WJC and at the WC/Olympics were simply insane AND that his already stellar individual regular season stats (shutouts ratio, Sv% and GAA) were even better in the NHL playoffs, even though the Habs never had a true Cup worthy team. Whenever they made any sort of playoff run, he pretty much was the lone reason they did (except for 2010 where Halak did what Price would then do multiple times after him). I feel like if he got drafted by probably 25 of the other 29 other teams (bar the Sabres, Coyotes, Jackets, etc which were even worse messes than the Habs) he'd have his name engraved on the Cup a couple times today. Him, Luongo and Hank will be remembered as the greatest goalies not to win a cup, and Hank might have been more consistent throughout his full career (he also got a much better team in front of him most of the time and remained relatively healthy overall) but Price was the most influential for the game of hockey. Technique-wise he probably was the best goalie to ever play the game.

Price won everything at every level except for the Stanley Cup. He even won Gold at the Winter Olympics. All of that being said, I blame Canadiens management for not building a proper team around the greatest goalie ever to play for the Canadiens. Yes, Roy, Dryden, and Plante won many cups, but look at the teams they had around them. Price was given very little year after year and still, he stood on his head. Had he played for Boston, Tampa, or other teams, he would have won several cups. Even the 2021 cup run was with a team that caught fire at the right time and rode his spectacular play.

In part, he was away from the game due to his affair with a Montreal police officer, who he got pregnant. He had to go away to try to save his marriage & his bank account! So, he continues to bleed Montreal dry, taking his salary & never playing. Not my hockey hero.

Pretty simple what happened to him. Got paid too much and stopped caring. After having perhaps the best single season of any goalie in modern history in 2015, he lost his focus. For several seasons his numbers were among the *worst* of any starting goalie in the NHL, but he got his huge payday, so no reason to keep working. Had a brief bounce-back in the 2021 playoffs (after Jake Allen outplayed him all season and was actually the guy who got them into the playoffs!), and then completely bailed on his teammates. That's his only true legacy.

Carey Price was always an actor/showoff. His skills were tremendously over-rated. Yes, he had a couple of good years, when he had a good team in front of him. Towards the end he couldn't catch a basketball, averaging 5 goals against most games. If it wasn't his wife, then it was cocaine, or booze, or nerves, or he's got a multi-year, multi-millions dollar contract, so F^&* it. No cup eh buddy.

He used cocaine for many years to increase his performance but his addiction got to him and went to rehab. He wasn't able to recover from his knee injury but refuse to retire because of his big contract. I don't know why Montreal hasn't bought him out since he'll never play again. I wish he never used drugs cause I can't not accept cheaters. All his records are invalid to me.
