I follow Paul and Peter in keeping a good conscience before God and all men, instead of keeping track of individual sins (they've all been washed and forgiven once for all time). To me, here is one of the ways Protestantism reeks of the Roman Catholicism that was pushed on me growing up; the constant keeping the mind set on sins of the flesh, instead of walking in the Spirit. 1 Timothy 1:19 GNT and keep your faith *_and a clear conscience. Some people have not listened to their conscience and have made a ruin of their faith._* 1 Corinthians 6:11 NASB95 Such were some of you; *_but you were washed,_* but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Timothy 1:5 NASB95 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart *_and a good conscience_* and a sincere faith.

Paul is your apostle. Not Peter. The Bible only mentions this fact nearly 20 times. Paul is your pattern to follow. Peter was a circumsized JEW who Jesus commissioned to preach the Mosaic KINGDOM/LAW message to the commonwealth JEWISH nation of ISRAEL. You are mixing law and grace. God said don't do that, otherwise you place yourself under the bondage of the law. You occurse yourself. You are not a circumsized Jew living in Israel. You are a gentile in the dispensation of the grace of God. You don't follow all 613 points of the law given to Jews only. Jesus made you free from the bondage of the law. He took the law out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Your sins God no longer sees, thanks to HIS perfect work he performed on your behalf. You dont sell everything you have, and you don't drop dead by the Holy Spirit every time you mess up. Mathew 10:5,6; 15:24-26 John 4:22 Acts 11:13 You are a gentile living wherever during the "dispensation of the GRACE of God" according to the "revelation of the mystery" that was kept hid in God since the world began. Romans 16:25 Ephesians 3:2 We are saved by grace through faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone according to the FINISHED Gospel Jesus gave Paul (Acts 9) to preach to us alive today on this side of Jesus' blood-stained cross. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 kjv. If you want to be saved, then BELIEVE the verses Iv'e just shown you and be ye reconcilded back to God. Now, you can work FROM salvation, instead of trying to work FOR your salvation. Jesus already did all the work. Now just trust Christ and be saved. Truth Time Radio channel on yt can help with an open Bible.

So what about the individual who hates their sin but it is either an uncontrollable reaction from past trauma and or an addiction? In other words the individual goes against their own will hating what they do but can't stop the issue. I have anger issue for bullies, I hate authorities and I drink and smoke but hate all of it. I want to stop and pray etc. Nothing happens. I am saying I CAN'T CONTROL IT.

Hey Random! The flesh is weak, but the Spirit is willing. You alone may very well not be able to gain control due to a history of struggling with these things. Neverthless, through Christ you are able to overcome sin in your life. If you are obedient to the word of God, and you walk after the Spirit, then you will overcome these things. God was able to save you, and he is able to help you overcome temptation to sin. See 1 Corinthians 10:13 - Trent

@@allysonp2254 Yes Paul was a sinner just like you and I. His big problem is that he went to law to remedy it. When the commandment came he died, spiritually because he tried to perform the commandment by the law. The sin didn't make him die, it was him reaching for law.

@@nalcon1 Paul struggled with sin post Salvation. He's making it clear, that we as Believer's, possess two natures, the flesh which is what sins... and the new nature, born of the Spirit, which cannot sin. The two natures will be at war with one another until we no longer have this flesh (receive our glorified bodies at the rapture which I pray is very soon)!

Hey, I appreciate the video. I have a question: If a person gets divorced as a Christian, can they get remarried? Thanks.
@BibleLine Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Solid question. I think it’s important to note that God never approves of divorce to begin with. It was only allowed because of the hardness of men’s hearts. It’s clear that God hates divorce though. Romans 7 and 1 Corinthians 7 really break this issue down. If you divorce, the Bible states clearly that you are to only ever come back into a relationship with that person. (ie - that is the only person you can “remarry” without sinning). If you marry another or even commit sexual acts with another; it is sin. You are considered to be in adultery. I believe this is because God still looks at the first marriage as still married! (This is a beautiful picture of eternal security as Christ loves the Church as well). Is it a sin? Yes. Does God offer grace, mercy and forgiveness? Absolutely. Nevertheless, I believe the scars will remain, especially if children are involved. - Trent

BUT and IF thou marry, thou hast NOT sinned..." 1 Cor. 7:27-28 I believe a man can put away his wife if she commits adultery and marry a different woman, and it would not be sin for that man, and vice versa for the woman. If God is still counting sins, all of us are in deep trouble. What Bible are you reading?? The Bible (not some guy who made a vid on yt) says God already judged Christ Jesus on the cross. Jesus died for our sins because you couldn't on your best day. Have you not heard the Gospel? Jesus died for our sins according to scripture, he was buried WITH our sins, and rose three days later WITHOUT our sins according to scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 He (Jesus ) who knew no sin was made sin on our behalf. He was buried, and rose again according to scripture. If you want to be saved, you need to trust/BELIEVE this, and be SAVED! Trusting mans wisdom or place your faith in self-effort= religious, lost, and hellbound for rejecting Gods free gift of salvation. Just believe right now and heaven is your home. Hope this helps. I completely disagree with your interpretation of 1 John 1:9. Look at the two verses 9 is between. It's about being saved. I confess I am a sinner and I sin and need to be saved. Everyone is afraid of correction from God. Why?
@BibleLine Жыл бұрын
Hey Leo!! 1 John is written to believers about their fellowship with God. They’re already saved when he writes verse 9 to them. Confession of sin has nothing to do with salvation (granted, obviously you need to know Jesus saved you from sin), but it is about getting back into fellowship with God. Yes, Jesus has forgiven us all of our sins, but this chapter is about restoring our walk with God. This is a day to day, perhaps week to week form of confession. This cannot be for Salvation because it implies also stopping the sin. Notice chapter 2 (these things write I unto you that ye sin not…) - Trent

@@BibleLineHey Jesse. A couple short observations. Thanks for the email. I will reply at length when I feel better. I'm pretty sick right now. Accounting this verse to acts of sin and reading it in its context implies that if we sin (Never a good thing) we become unrightious in the sight of God and he again brings us back from an unrightious state to a rightious state by confessing our act of sin. Doesn't scripture say confess with your mouth and believe in your heart and you will be saved? Now chastisement is a wonderful thing. Chastisement is Him exhibiting His love towards us. Hebrews 12:5-8. Chastisement may feel greivious for a time but it does not change our relationship. Hebrews 12:8. One of the most wonderful thing I realized is, I was no longer a bastard child.

@@BibleLineis confession of sin not just practicing the law? Leviticus 5:5 is very clear imo, and believers are dead to the law through Christ right?
@BibleLine8 ай бұрын
The law condemned all types of sin. Just because we are not under the law does not mean we do adhere to righteousness. Yes, God commanded confession under the law. He also commanded “thou shalt not kill.” Cain killing Abel prior to the law was still wrong. Confession of sin is still a good thing. We do not believe 1 John 1:9 is salvific, but we believe it is commanded to believers to have closer fellowship with Christ. It is the practical sanctification in the life of a believer. Wouldn’t you agree that God is not pleased when we still sin? Free will is a powerful thing. We are spiritually righteous, but we are still capable of sinning in this old flesh. 1 John is an address covering this issue. Abide in Christ! Don’t sin against him. - Trent
