It reminds me a little bit of “White Lie” a historical biography about Ellen White who was the prophetess of the Seventh day Adventist religion. Early on when the leaders allegedly realized that her ‘inspired works’ were actually plagiarized and that became unequivocally clear, they took a vote and decided to perpetuate the lie because 1) There was a lot of good stuff in what she said and 2) it would be too devastating to everyone to know the truth. Joseph Smith also. I think people just want to believe so badly that they lower the bar of ‘truth’ to ‘mostly true’.

I've always thought that Miscavige is a true believer. In an interview on Ron Miscavige's channel,a former Scientologist pointed out that Hubbard had written that a leader should be ruthless. I thought it was interesting that his father had used that exact word to describe David after he came into power. I don't think that's a coincidence.

6:22 Why doesn't Miscavige simply tell everyone that he gets audited by Hubbard? Why would that be so hard for a Scientologist to believe? I thought that Scientologists could eventually exist incorporeally, and that that is in fact what Hubbard was supposed to have done?
@GrowingUpInScientology3 жыл бұрын
Well, Scientolog procedures don’t allow for telepathic auditing of normal thetans who are occupying bodies. The telepathic auditing procedures are only for body thetans. It would be unheard of for a thetan in a body to be telepathically audited by an out-of-body thetan. Such a thing was never described by Hubbard.
@bricaaron39783 жыл бұрын
@@GrowingUpInScientology That was just the first thing that occurred to me when you mentioned the issue. What you say makes sense, but at the same time, it is apparently also unheard of for a Scientologist to be un-audited at all, by anyone. I suppose my point was that if Miscavige really wanted to, I wouldn't think it impossible to make such an explanation work, especially if my assumption is correct in that he can always claim possession of, or access to information that no one else knows of. 'Unheard of' is, after all, not the same thing as 'directly contradictory'. Thank you for the reply!

That's an interesting perspective. Obviously he knows that the higher OT levels don't exist. He also must know that the prophesy about LRH's return seems to be false. In the end, whether he believes or not doesn't really matter that much. He's in the perfect position of power where he can't be deposed. He has massive resources and people around him who fawn over him and his every word. You have Christians who don't know much about the Bible and who don't believe in lots of the details. Ive always had conflicted thoughts about if David still believes. I initially thought there was no way he still believed, simply because of his refusal to get auditing and because he stole his position in the church and has done things in a way that would likely infuriate LRH BUT my one major reason that I think it's possible he does still believe in some degree, is that he hasn't yet released the upper OT levels that he's been promising for so many years. Obviously, we know the reason is because they don't exist BUT if he didn't believe in scientology at all, what would stop him from just writing them up himself and selling them for major money. The fact that he hasn't yet crossed that line, makes me wonder if he possibly still holds some belief in scientology.
@sleepystrugglz45863 жыл бұрын
That's an excellent point! If he didn't believe, he absolutely could make them up. But with one of the most core tenants of Scientology being that only "Source " (i.e. Hubbard) can be Source, that belief alone would stop him from creating them. It's amazing what the human mind can make itself believe...I'm continually amazed at how many people hold contradictory beliefs simultaneously rather than come to a new understanding that would mean a profound change. Fear is a powerful manipulator of thought.
@andredunhos40972 жыл бұрын
Could be. It might also be the "Game of Thrones"-syndrome, where a future release is so hyped up that the author feels they can never live up to it. He might fear releasing more because it might disappoint Scientologists

Releasing the upper OT levels would expose Miscavige terribly to rivals without and within. He would be unable to fake them with at least some other senior Scientologists knowing. I believe Miscaviage truely fears one of the old dogs from the days of Hubbard finding a child and giving that kid enough info on Hubbard's past to challenge Miscaviages rule and convince a large amount of scientologists of Hubbard's actual return. The more unpopular Miscaviage becomes the more vulnerable he becomes to a challenge like that. To me that's why Miscaviage feared the years of Hubbard's return like that. It's probably also why he still to this day spies on rivals from the days of Hubbard. Not because he really thought Hubbard would actually return. But out of fear some of his enemies from the days of Hubbard might try and use some kid to steal power from Miscaviage ala south park. It's also probably why Miscaviage lies about having OT 9 and OT 10. Out of fear a well planned out return of some kid with all the info on Hubbard to fake a return complete with OT 9 and 10 levels to release would pose a huge threat. By Miscaviage constantly claiming he has the "real" OT 9 and 10 locked up he can try and prove any kid stepping up as Hubbard reincarnated is a liar.

Hi Aaron. Another fantastic video from you. Great topic and very informative and interesting info. I have a somewhat funny question. You have mentioned that you use your phone for videos. I have watched your videos for years and love both the long form and short form ones. My question is this. It looks like you are using a virtual background lately. (Before it looked like you filmed in your study). The picture seems new from the original poster you had at the beginning. I wanted to know what the 2 material things on either side of the video are? They obviously have special significance to be in the picture. Are they Scientology related or something else? Thanks for reading to the end of my ramblings.
