Does Disneyland have an Off Season anymore?

We're back, at Disneyland! When is the best time to go? Is there an off-season? When are there the lowest crowds? These are questions I'm always being asked, and while there are sometimes less busy days and weeks, they're getting harder and harder to predict! Reservation systems, new attraction and refurb openings, longer holiday celebrations, and especially the anniversary celebrations have meant Disney has successfully ended the "off seasons" we used to know and now the park is one continuously busy, ever-changing place! It's good for business, but it does make it harder to find those days where you feel like you have the park all to yourself. However, there's still plenty to do, rides, characters, Mickey Mouse parading down Main Street, and of course plenty of history to relive - it just takes taking a step back and connecting with those memories and feelings of the past. Come along to Disneyland!

I usually really like all of your videos but there is something very special about this one. Probably the way you talk about your love for our Park and all the "back in the day" references. But I also love that you did all your old jokes, voices, and nuances. I hope you heal quickly but you still might want to get a x-ray. Take care old friend and thank you!

I grew up poor in Norwalk in the 80s/90s and would look longingly at the Matterhorn and Space Mountain from the 5 whenever we’d pass by. I did go with my family about once every couple of years or so and so Disneyland is most definitely my happy place and a direct connection to my childhood. 😊 Now, as a Magic Key holder, whenever I walk into the park, it really does feel like home. Not because I go so often now, but because Disneyland will always remind me how hard my mom worked to raise me, how special it was when we saved up enough to go to Disneyland, all of the countless hours I spent pretending to be on Pirates while I was taking a bath, or the time I spent an entire summer recreating Fantasmic in my backyard and putting on the show for my brother and mom. I truly love Disneyland. ❤

Yes! You nailed it- you really can’t predict anymore when a quiet day might occur at Disneyland… there’s no off-season, really, and I miss those days! And the one “big” celebration at the park after another- money grab?? Merchandise push?? Hmm… I loved your memories and feelings regarding the park and how it’s changed over the years- I’m a SoCal native, and was TOO excited when I finally got my first job and saved up to buy an annual pass ($99 !!!!!) to spend time with a new group of friends who loved going there on the regular. And we did- we had the absolutely best time…. All the feels when I go back, now over the last 17 yrs with my own kiddos!

Justin, ready to b blown away…back in the 80’s all of us in Southern CA could get a year pass with NO BLACKOUT DATES for…$100. Figure that out with inflation and lines around the block. Now you have to buy a special pass to get front of the line. It’s a shut show for all of my Nieces and Nephews just to ride 5-6 rides in one day. When will anyone call enough to Disney’s BS? Walt would turn over in his grave to what it’s like now

Whenever I visit Disney, my favourite feeling is walking through the main gates and asking ‘What do you want to do first?’ It’s like opening presents on Christmas as a kid again.

Ohhhhh Justin, when you talked about the part of being a Disney adult and and having a reason to go till this day, you hit the nail on the head. As an Adult I’m finally able to do something my parents couldn’t afford to do. Living near by made it super easy to visit but then I took it to the next level and started working for Disney, that’s when all the fun really started!

I remember going on the Motorboat Cruise when I was a kid and even beyond. It was a GREAT ride and the source of my first time thinking we were going to get thrown out of the park. My cousin changed from a boat with his sister to a boat with other cousins right at the point where the track doubled back on itself. He got away with it and went on to be a successful anesthesiologist! LOL!!!

Hello Justin, very good adventure today. Lots of memories for me of Disneyland. I to was raised in the Disneyland area. We lived on the other side where I attended Paul Revere elementary school. My father was an MC and performer at the Indian Village. I often went to work with my father where I spent the days in the park. Those were wonderful times for me. Thanks for the memories….

I have the swiss family movie story on a record. Also the first time I went to Disneyland I was 8 years old and I wasnt able to go on the Tree House because it was closed. The last time (and second time) I went to Disneyland I was around 38 years old and I was able to go up the Tree Hoise but it was Tarzan theme (😔).

I relate to Disneyland feeling like home. My grandma lived in Garden Grove and you could see the fireworks every night. It really was a tease. 😂 My 1st birthday was at the park and in January I celebrated my 30th at the park. I rarely go to Disneyland so when I do it's usually for occasions like that.

I think Disneyland doesn't have an off-season anymore, or it isn't as common as it used to be. I think that's mainly due to demand, the reservation system (that hopefully will be gone one day), and ticket pricing that causes it.

Disneyland is my home, too. I grew up in CA but now live in FL, but I still tell everyone that Disneyland is my home. It's my happy place and it always feels comfortable when I walk in, no matter how long it might have been since my last visit. Nothing at WDW feels the same...not even close.

For all of Disney's financial issues of late, those theme parks -- at least the two in the USA -- are gold mines. And no matter what they charge, people will pay it.

Justin, “A dream that is still coming true today”… I wish that were the case. However, I am sure you are aware Walt Disney would be furious about the Disney today. Today’s Disney wants to corrupt kids and destroy their innocence. They would rather them grow up and care about grown up issues like sex. I appreciate your desire to remember the old times, and I bitter that we choose not to go to Disney because of their ideology. I hope something will change but I doubt it.
