And don't even get me started on Freiza & Cell...!😍 That aside, I was super-stoked when I received Boudokai (PS2 ver.) as a belated Christmas gift (in early January 2007). My favorite DBZ fact: Goku going Super Saiyan is a Christmas miracle. Vegeta and Nappa land on earth on 3 November. Next day, Goku's in the hospital, they find Kami's ship. It takes 10 days to re-program it. They get to Namek 34 days later. Same day, Goku leaves for Namek in the Capsule Corp ship. Gets there six days later. Has one really long day fighting the Ginyus and Frieza. We're now 51 days past 3 Nov. It's christmas eve. Merry Christmas

3:15 Anime can actually be a great way to supplement Japanese learning because everything has good clear enunciation and there's plenty of memorable contexts for what you hear. Unfortunately, shonen anime like Dragon Ball and Naruto aren't the best to start out with since one does not get plenty of chances to issue a promise to kill someone via punches, kicks, and explosions, or declare that someone will become a ninja president all that often.
@jangleleg1175 ай бұрын
13:38 Yajirobe is a master at hiding his tiny power level. You can see in the dialogue, he sensed Krillin behind him before the attack was even launched. He had no idea Yajirobe was there. DBZ fans know this. But in the Tenkaichi games, Yajirobe can't be locked onto as easily as other characters. You have to have an open line of sight on him. A pretty cool and small detail added to the games for us who pay attention.

Now 20 years later , I've a whole shelf unit filled with the orange bricks, the Blu-ray's , the viz-bigs, the 3-in-1s and full colour manga , boxes full of bulk DBS cards and binders filled with the good cards... Play Fighterz on a daily basis and Xenoverse 2 and Kakarot get picked back up every few months, this game changed my life and it'll always have a happy place in my heart

When I was 5 years old in 2002 my friend brought this game over to my house on a Friday night for a sleepover. I don't think we played it much, and he left it at my house when he went home on Saturday. I called him either that night or Sunday to let him know, and he said I could keep it for the week to play and he'd come back next weekend and make sure to take it with him. Well I was hooked. This was my very first exposure to Dragonball Z and I was in love with the game, mostly the art style of these 3D cutscenes. Next came the manga, which was being published in English by Viz Media in graphic novels. Over the years, I read those books so much that they're fairly worn out by now, a shame because this original run is no longer printed. My mom quickly decided she didn't like DBZ and it was a back and forth for years over it. But for Valentine's day in 2003 she bought me Budokai 2, and I was in love with the holo cover, as I hadn't seen any PS2 game cover like that ever before. Even as a 6 year old I remember that being special because even though she didn't like DBZ, she knew I loved it and put my love for the series over her dislike of it. This was my first introduction to Buu and Super Buu was very angry and that frightened the hell out of me at that age. Back in those days I had no problem taking my PS2 with me to different places, but one time we went to my dad's cousin's house and I brought Budokai 2 and left it there. I was more upset that I lost the game my mom bought me than actually losing the game itself, so I don't think I told her I lost it. A few years later I bought a copy in the clearance bin at Gamestop with one of those goofy generic Gamestop cases and no manual. Since several games had been released since then, I didn't even play it, I had it just to have it. Anyway, I remember the day Budokai 3 came out, and I remember after buying it I was sitting in the car while my mom was in Ulta or some other store and I was reading the manual and looking at the disc and wondering who that character was (Omega Shenron). I played the shit out of Budokai 3, definitely more than 1 or 2. and even when the Tenkaichi Budokai games came out (I started with 2, then bought 1 but barely played it because 3 came out and it was so superior), I still played Budokai 3 a lot. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was one of the best games ever, and I even had the edition of Electronic Games Monthly where they did the cover story on it and I would read it over and over again. Between the video games, the manga, anime, action figures, and magazines, DBZ was such a huge part of my childhood. I'm 27 this year, but roughly a year ago I went on eBay and bought component cables for my PS2 for enhanced resolution, I bought a replacement Ocean Blue PS2 controller to match the one I had as a kid, and I bought a new case and manual for Budokai 2, then replayed those games on my PS2 to completion. It was great reliving the experience, but I left out the original. I just watched this video and reminisced those years and now I'm going to go back and play Budokai 1. Thank you.
