Fun Fact: This game has adaptive difficulty, meaning it scales based on how well you're doing. If you're dying a bunch then the game might throw a couple of scorpions at you in a given room but if you're on a hot streak and not dying at all then that same room could have 3 or 4 of the bigger dinosaurs.

@JC-hf7zt2 жыл бұрын
Good GOD how did I miss this upload, this was one of the scariest games, and not even the giant dinosaurs and bugs, but the giant alligators in particular are some of the scariest depictions of skull island I've ever seen, especially in a game. It had some issues but I can't even remember any off of the top of my head, yet I can remember so, so many instances of some of the most intense "survival" situations, not in the sense of the genre but instances of real genuine fear for survival I've ever played in a game, and I probably didn't even make it half way through before I gave it back to who I borrowed it from and then rented it from blockbuster immediately after. Even when I played it shortly as a late teen, and it wasn't quite as scary, it was still an incredibly intense game, and while not QUITE as scary, it still had some moments of absolute terror. Sure some of it is cheap jumpscares, but the fact that they aren't entirely unrealistic monsters and somewhat believable for an island with it's own prehistoric-esque ecosystem makes them just realistic enough while still being truly scary. Sure some of the mega fauna are scary, but what has really always gotten me are the massive insects and horrifically evolved versions of smaller animals. A lot of survival games these days have the same thing going for them, and some are much scarier, but I'd love another skull island exploration game with similar settings and enemies, especially with the HUDless survival aspect. It'd make one hell of a more realistic/punishing far cry type game, obviously in the spirit of the older ones.
