Very useful video. The most impressive thing I've noticed is the make up. The true type make up seems natural, you don't even notice it, it like if it is part of their body, as if it comes from inside. But when they are wearing the wrong make up, it seems like they are wearing a mask, it sounds unnatural, as if they prepared for a Carnival! I was really shocked about this, it's amazing!

Wow! This video is amazing. Of course I’ve gotten to become familiar with all four of the young women in the course of watching your videos. It’s so odd to see them in different energy types. I’ve always dressed as a Type 4, since my natural coloring goes with that (black hair and fair skin). However I’m a Type 3. I’ve always tried to tame my thick wavy hair to be “neat,” but my hairdresser said, “You don’t have neat hair; you have sexy hair!” So goodbye black and gray, and hello to leopard prints and snakeskin shoes.

As you know the free course starts with 1 and I actually got a little mad because it reminded me so much of my childhood and early adolescent years. I would try to be bouncy, happy, and give all my energy for people who just walked all over me. Then I started watching 2 and immediately felt at home. I was a very emotional child, and still, am in some sense. I truly believe that at heart I am a connected emotional person and introverted with my energy. I feel that I have some 4 in me as well because I got tired of being walked on and had to become more tailored and rigid, but that's why I like this system because it points out your TRUE self. I am 2 and feel glad that my clothing can represent me now. I think I will add a bit of color from my one and darkness from my 4, but only in the tiniest of doses. I notice that I paint like a 3 and 4 with bright, bold colors with dark distinct lines, but that's just to get those energies out of my physical body. My favorite things to paint and what I am drawn to is nature especially florals.

We all lead with one dominant Type, and in dressing, to have our energy be congruent, we should also lead with that dominant Type. Your secondary Type can play a role in the design line, texture, pattern, and fabrication of your clothing and personal style. It can also have an effect on your choice of hairstyle. However, your chroma and metals should reflect your dominant Type only.

I have been looking at her videos for years and I was wearing type 3! Then I was interested in finding my secondary and had a lightbulb go off that I was a 1 secondary 3!! I have switch and really look better brighter and more myself, im very playful fun and enregentic snd I. Think mistaking type1 and 3 is easy to do

So I just stacked it up to be im type 3, then I saw your hands teaching! I have very youthful hands and round nails short fingers in fact they are exactly like the example, my nickname is sunshine ! @Carol Tuttle I may be a t1 although that could just be a learnt way of being due to early trauma. I never felt enough as a child or as cool as my 3/1 mum. I absolutely felt t2 in the beginning and it's the only way I can feel myself and not hassled. Everything made sense. I tend to dress a combination of both these types and it feels very honouring to me although comfy stretchy clothes are my priority. I also wear t2 makeup. I doubt myself but it feels like home this way 🥰

This was helpful to see. I'm having a hard time finding my type, cause none of the clothing really seems to be my stile, but I see elements of all of it from my style. (Added after type 3: Btw, funny, I started typing this comment even before you started mentioning wanting to hear our response to the energies. Apparently, it affected me enough to just automatically wanna do that on my own.) I love the energy of the first type, but the colors was NOT soothing me. I can totally recognize that I have a specific type 2 kinda long, blue flowy dress, and I get compliments while wearing it, but it feels like putting on a costume, and I feel my energy being drained when I'm wearing it. It has that kinda perpetual sunda feel with a twinge of mother godess divinity / fancy elegance that I enjoy, but in doses. The lathargic energy tends to overwin me, so even though my test amongst other result showed me as a type to, I do NOT feel like one. But seeing everyon dressed in 2 defenately also made me recognize som empathic motherly Type 2 women, especially in my administration class. I also see how their presenting or energy in movements, sitting pose and even speaking (more slurred-ish speach from the chillax vibes) is changing. Weather that be them conciously or unconciously trying to fitting in to how they know the types should be, or genuine. I am always a little sceptic, yes. But then; I've experience that same thing in my Type 2 dress, so it is probably mostly genuine and unconsiously influenced at worst :) As for type 3, I'm getting tired just looking at them. It does feel like a very wild energy to keep up with. Just the the thought of putting that on, yuikes. I love the red blazor, but would prefer it in a darker less bright nuance, and with the stripes and everything else. Yea, a bit much. I've been trying to figure out my type some time ago, and gave up, now comming back to it. I remember being unsure about 1 and 4, but type 3 has defenatly been a type I have just rejected from the start, with the bold patterns and animal prints and color combinations, excotic elements, brazy golds etc. The personality traits confused me, cause I tend to go into that mode of getting things done, but I now see that it's probably more of a role I take on then - and one I defenately can't keep up with and feel comfortable in long term :) It's probably more out of a distain for unwanted chaos :) Hearing all these ladies saying they thought they would miss their black - that the excact feeling I have. Kinda scared to find out my type, cause I don't wanna miss my black, and I'm not sure would be a type 4. (Which is an odd thought anyway; just like I feel resistance to use KonMari method on my things like someone will steal them away, like, no... obviously if I like it I get to keep it ^^") Though type 4 and 1 seem to be what resonates more with me - well, not excactly the T1 outfit here, that was just a bit too screaming bright. At least they seem to be the less foreign to me, the less draing and costume seeming to me. Obviously, all the ladies look gorgious in their respective type outfit. Most even look great in the other outfits as well, though I can clearly see and heir them explain how the energy just goes agains their intuitive beings. This was quite a journey. I am still not sure of my type, but I feel like I got a little closer, if anything then at least by being able to exclude some types :)

I kno that I am a Type 2! Grey has been my favorite color since I was a small child. And I LOVELOVELOVE the Type 2 girl's outfit and soft energy! My best color for tops is Navy blue. My fave clothing colors are greys, soft rose pinks, muted blues, and the dark, jewel tones. One of my fave hairstyles is the soft, romantic messy low side bun. My fave books are Gothic Romances and Gothic Romantic Movies. I am beginning to suspect that my Secondary Type is also Type 2. 🤔🙂

Funny, I do not react on anyone in the grey outfit, because right now almost anyone dresses like that, if they do not add more black. I have been looking at capsule wardrobes who all seem to be black, black, grey and white, with a splash of denim and perhaps a pair of cognac or brown footwear. But a lot of people just look tired and drained in it ... Same goes for the black , T4. Black is so overused, and so hard on a lot of people, but "everybody" wears it because it is everywhere and proffessional and classic and everything, and then the grey combination is actually better.

I am finding this frustrating because I am not seeing what everyone else is. Even with the faces, I don't know why - I jjust don't see it. Is there a more defining method to determine this? I would love to know which one I am so that I can start dressing my truth! I'm a romantic type, very feminine, and I am also sometimes definitive and analytical, but tactful. I have NO idea, lol! I love gold jewelry and glamour. But I have some sense of refinement, too. I am struggling with these types.

@@CarolTuttleVideos I’m from abusive childhood sO I think I can’t be a 1 since I find that to be an effort to try and pull off and exhausting to constantly cheerlead everybody who don’t even get cheered up sO I expend for nothing. A 4 would be waY less effort but I like scrolls and damask as a 2 would, & being a 2 is sO relaxing but The attire can really deaden me unless it’s got some kinda umph. When I say scrolls I feel home in scrolls such as Lois Hill scrolled jewelry. I like two tone or tri tone as far as metal, gold is a bit deadening & silver can be too severe, sO two tone is home (or tri) which are SUPER hard to find! Sigh 😫

It's interesting and unexpected that the worst looks are those of the other lower movement and other higher movement. T4 looks worst in T2 and vice versa. T3 looks worst in T1 and vice versa.

All four look like they could pull off the type 1 outfit. However, the type 2 outfit was eye opening, as well as the very stark and stiff look of the type 4 outfit. The type 1 person looked so unhappy in the type 3 and type 4 outfits. Then the type 4 person looked super unhappy in the type 3 outfit.

I believe I am a type 4. I read the Dressing Your Truth book and there are things about all the types that fit me, but when I read about type 4 it was like a light bulb went on and I got really excited! I have started taking pictures of myself in different outfits. I have almost no type 4 clothes!

Some hits but a lot of misses for me. I am a type 2-1 but I am not girlie and prefer a more tomboy style. So a lot of florals, rounded hems are a hard pass, I also prefer cleaner lines so too flowey, frills and roushing don't appeal . It makes me feel like an old lady. Cool colors especially cool grey and silver looks jarring on me. I look better in gold by a long shot. Soft stretchy fabrics that have some drape awesome. Im also drawn to warm dark muted tones because I am a dark autumn coloring so that works but my secondaries pastel colors are also a pass.

Forgot to mention personality wise 2 hits at my core with the need for comfort, moving at a slower pace and always asking questions with a bit of the excited animation of the 1 thrown in when I feel the most comfortable and happy. The styles though don't hit the spot quite as well.

Watching Juleea(sp?) when everyone wore Type 1 made me nervous. With Anne and the women in Type 2, I was yawning. Felt alive watching Type 3. While Calista is a beautiful Type 4, the other 3 ladies looked like school marms chaperoning a school dance. Made me feel like I had to sit up straight or get whacked with a ruler.

Carol, yes, I have taken the course. I rejoined DYT just the other day. (Juju Peltier on FB). About a year and half ago was the first time I joined and typed myself as a 3. Now though after having read "Just My Nature" again and having watched tons of videos, I'm not sure. Kinda feeling like Type 4 is calling my name. Will re read and watch. Probably overthinking this. When I read "You are your own authority" and the paragraph following, it was as though ice water struck me and I had an A ha moment.

Are there any consultants that can help you determine your type? I ordered the books and have watched several videos. I think I'm either a 4 or a 2 but neither seem 100% correct.
