Does driving a manual in la traffic suck? I talk about this in today's video. I go over how it's been driving 2 manual cars in Los Angeles traffic on a daily basis. I drive a 2017 Ford Focus RS and my fiance drives a 2020 Veloster N. We both drive manual daily and after a while, it just becomes a part of our everyday life. If you want to drive stick just do it!

I had to learn how to drive a manual since I visit Europe every Summer and I must say that I miss driving manual. Driving automatic is really boring and I find my self wishing I needed to do more. The feeling of being more in-tune with your car with a manual transmission is something I really enjoy.

I think driving manual makes for a safer driving experience. Reason being because when driving manual you have to use both feet and both hands; which forces you to concentrate more on operating the car while not giving you as much freedom to be distracted.

I drive my manual vette in the heart of LA every day and loving all the traffic😆 Currently on a hyper-miling mission driving 90 miles round trip 5 days a week!

Manual transmission is the way to go. At some point, the automatic transmission is going to go out. A new one could cost over $3,500 (or more). A new clutch on the other hand (for the manual/stick shift) will be around $1,000 or possibly less, depending on the make/model and who repairs it. Also, get AAA plus. If you get stranded, they will tow you up to 100 miles, change flat tires, replace batteries, give jumps etc. LA is so spread out, it's really necessary. They also have AAA platinum where you get even more benefits and they tow up to 200 miles once/year (The other 3 tows are 100 miles). You and your wife can do a family thing and save money (I don't work for them but they have great service).

I used to live in L.A. and I drove a 2013 Fiat 500 Abarth, which only came with a manual. Even with all the traffic I still enjoyed that car. I still have it to this day. I don’t know if they’re still open during the pandemic but I recommend Ocean Seafood if you’re hankering for some Dim Sum. They’re on Hill Street in downtown.

I live in Philly and just bought my first manual transmission, stop and starting sucks at moments but I fell in love with manual transmissions. I can’t see myself going back to automatics

@@miakimhester1321 During rush hour it’s a little difficult especially 76 , 95 and stops at every corner is annoying. But it’s still a fun driving experience, Lincoln drive and Kelly are fun roads to drive a manual. Manayunk is difficult with all the hills but once you master driving a manual it becomes automatic.

Typically your right. I stay left almost 100% of the time unless overtaking. But my question to you is have your ever driven in LA?

@@OmegaGreedAK47 I've driven in 15 different countries (both left and right hand drive), and once in LA on holiday. It's busy, but lane discipline is still important.

Dude look I’m nothing special special but I’ve had children chase a ball out onto the road in front of me. I’ve slid on ice and drive stick with less than ~85 ft lbs of torque up a 12% incline (that sucked). I105 is Satan’s gift for the decadence of LA and it’s people and Figueroa St is just plain a shit hole. Be safe pal.
