the reason you get better gas mileage is you get better performance for the same amount of gas. so if your performance is better you don't have to push your pedal down as far to get the same take off power when you take off. but on the highway there won't really be any difference traveling at the same speed in either way.

So you are saying that when you put dual exhausts on using stock headers and get better gas mileage that it's a fluke?

StormRider9x he literally admitted you do get SOME added fuel economy. Typically 1 mile per gallon or so, is what he said. So technically yes.

I think with the newer engines they are not programmed to efficiently adjust to a dual exhaust. If you want to see any increase in fuel savings you need to have a professional tune on your car. That tune would involve adjusting the computer in your car. Beyond that any aftermarket performance on a new engine will just hurt the economy.

'95 chevy 305 ci gets 5-7 more miles per gallon with a 1 into 2; 40 series flowmaster. HA HA!!!!! I actually tested this out and that is what I came up with....
