As an artist I have been using pebeo setacolor for years and the same tube hasn‘t gone bad like much acrylics usually do. I still paint with pebeo on clothes and I wouldn‘t trade it for anything else. Worth every cent!

That was an amazing amount of work and so well organized. Many of these paints are new to me too. Only one's I wished you had also covered are Jacquard and Angeles. Maybe they aren't readily available to you? Thank you for your dedication to helping us become better artists.
@kluukart Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Unfortunately, many paints aren´t available here in Estonia, and it is also difficult or expensive to order Jacquard and Angeles here. Jacquard's distributor in Estonia refused to order precisely those colors that can be painted with a brush. I hope to try them one day though.

Brand "Dylon" fabric paint actually is really good. I have different shades for light fabrics, I can promise they last long and painting stays very soft. 😊

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately I got this dried out Dylon paint from the store. For some reason stores in Estonia don't have Dylon paint available. But I believe it is good.

@@kristinedreimane1454 Yes. My dream is to try Jaquard paints, but it is quite expensive to order these to Estonia.

@@kluukart I like Jacquard fabric paints. The painting stays softer than Decola ( nothing against Decola, I prefer Decola paint shades over the Jacquard paint shades).Yes Jacquard cost more than other brands, but also the jars are little bit bigger (66ml),than other regular fabric paint jars. Try them, when you have chance😊

What’s the best white fabric paint and with best coverage
@kluukart Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to try quite all color brands. I have heard that Jaquard colors are very good, but they are not imported to Estonia and ordering them is very expensive. Among the white colors that I have tried myself - Deka Perm Deck, Pebeo, Marabu and Kreul Javana seemed good. Dylon can also be good, but again it has not been available in Estonia. Cheap and fabric paints for children do not give very good results.

It is possible that there are better paints for painting silk and synthetics that are specifically designed for this purpose. My experience is that of the colors used in this test, Pebeo is the most suitable.

hello there have been reports that setacolor opaque BLACK color washes off - what are your thoughts?
@kluukart2 жыл бұрын
I haven't had any problems with it. It is possible that it may wear faster if painted over another layer of paint. I mostly paint directly on the fabric. In addition, I wash 100% wrong side out in the delicate wash mode. See also my video of the same shirt after the 25th wash: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXO8ZYGBgrqggqc

Do you think Pebeo setacolor doesn't work properly with cotton
@kluukart2 жыл бұрын
Pebeo works very well on cotton fabric. All these colors are best on cotton fabric. Synthetic fiber can bring bad surprises because synthetic fabric fiber does not absorb dye.
@salahelkharassi49282 жыл бұрын
What type do you use and where can I buy?! it thanks in advance:)
@kluukart2 жыл бұрын
Lately, I mainly use Pebeo textile paints. They are high quality and last well. Marabu, Deka and Kreul Javana colors are also good, but I'm still using mostly Pebeo paints. What is currently available in stores in my city Tallinn) also influences my decision a little. I buy paints from an art supply store. But of course you can also order online.

I used Pebeo Setacolor on a shirt, 100% cotton, then I used an iron for 5 minutes and wanted to give it as a gift right away, but I thought it would be nice to find out first that they are durable, so that there would be no disgust that the recipient would be disappointed after the first wash. Well, and after washing them at 30 degrees I am disappointed, because the paints are not durable at all. What could have gone wrong?
@kluukart Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear it went that way. I always wash the painted garment inside out so that the color does not get crushed too much in the washing machine. Was the fabric definitely 100% cotton? A finer fabric like a t-shirt will absorb paint better than a thicker fabric (for example, a coarse cloth bag). Did you use the hottest heat (cotton mode) when ironing? If the color layer is too delicate and thin, it can also happen that the color wears off the fabric faster, because it is not inside the fiber but on top. In general, if you wash inside out and at 30 degrees, nothing should happen. Washing machines and detergents are also different. I discovered at home that my washing machine wear off a lot of clothes because the drum is big (washing machine-dryer in one) and after this discovery I started stuffing the washing machine full of clothes every time and manually reduced the number of spins from 1200 to 600. I only dry on the clothesline, never in the dryer. Clothes painted with textile paints should be washed as a delicate wash. I don't know if that was helpful.
@moniaes.4299 Жыл бұрын
@@kluukart yes, 100% cotton for sure :(

@@kluukart I used a 100% cotton shirt, it's a thin women's elegant shirt, and I thought I gave the right amount of paint, because I noticed that it was also visible on the other side, from the inside. But perhaps it's too thin layer anyway, maybe the paint was actually only on the top and not in the fabric? Anyway, I didn't want to apply too much paint so that the pattern wouldn't crack during useing and washing. I also reduced the speed in the washing machine to 600 :)
@kluukart Жыл бұрын
@@moniaes.4299 Very strange. I have one more thought. If you buy a new item of clothing in a store, it's a good idea to wash it before painting or dyeing, because new clothes often have some kind of chemicals in them (for example, anti-wrinkle) that prevent the textile dye from being absorbed. Could it be that?
