Same, I think they let in a surprising amount of light and make the inside so cosy. The windows capture the outside world in a magical way. They also are very private, probably why it feels like a cosy cottage inside.

Excellent vlog. The first boat we looked at was 23.5ft and as much as i liked it the main bed was only 3ft wide. The extra 1.5ft makes all the difference.

A wonderful solution for both you and David. His current boat is up on land needing some care and your’s allows him room and full facilities. His using it keeps things in continual check and he could bring it closer to your work , switch with you and head home while you cruised for a bit. ( if David did decide to look for a used copy, he can still be boating ) Lorna, you came up with a great idea. Also, I agree with David and you and others, the portholes were the better choice. Generally I don't care for portholes because they are often quite small but these are big and wouldn't tag my claustrophobia. Beautiful boat and worth the very long wait. Yes, David needs his little narrowboat!

I have been having the same thought, David, and I want to get me one of those!!! I have been looking at narrow boats for many years, and in that time I found one I loved but someone else did, as well. But I have NEVER been utterly charmed by a boat until I saw Lorna’s! I don’t believe I meet the UK residency requirements, however, and I want a liveaboard boat. The only navigable canals in the states are in the Great Lakes region and it gets cold on a level the UK doesn’t see. Brrrr! I tried, off the water, and chickened out in November and went south. Taking one to France is an option and would be delightful and I am thinking VERY SERIOUSLY. I have not found the boat builders online but won’t pull the trigger until Lorna has a chat with them about upgrades for commissions for those she sends to the builder. And I need to do more homework on requirements in France.
