Does iRacing have the Best Single Player AI Opponents? GT7 Sophy 2.0 Take Notes // Quest 3 Gameplay - No one ever talks about how good iRacing's AI opponents are but they happen to be really good for single player gameplay. You can setup a single AI race or you can create a whole racing season that let's you choose the tracks you want and the point scoring system. I will be discussing how I feel iRacing's AI is compared to Gran Turismo 7 Sophy 2.0 which is their new AI single player opponents. I will be racing on the Meta Quest 3 which is a fantastic VR headset for PC sim racing.
Sim Equipment I Currently Use:
- Thrustmaster T-GT II with Open Wheel Rim
- Thrustmaster T-LCM Load Cell Pedals
- VR Headsets: Quest 3 / PSVR2
- Consoles: PS5
- PC: RTX3080 / i7 10th Gen / 32GB RAM

For me I'm consistent but not very fast so I can get some good races with sopy. I can understand if your fast how it's not competitive

It should be relative to the level you choose. If you choose Pro, it should be hard and not slow down to let you catch them. I can a reason for the lower levels levels doing this or they should just be slower overall.

Have you tried Sophy with the latest update? They fixed the PP calculation and now it's gotten a lot better. Still beatable but that's most likely the fault of the whole GT 7 "win to earn credits" system. But yeah iRacing also does a great job with the AI

@@thecasualracinggamer Sophy itself not afaik, but before 1.41 the AI strength was based on your car without considering any upgrades (tires, tuning and so on). This has been fixed with 1.41 In some cars it's now almost impossible to win (Those damn Veyrons 🙈), but I'm not sure how much it affects GT3 races.

iRacing is the pioneer of realistic racing AI. Their AI was already available to users and worked better than Sony's Sophy before Sony even announced they were going to start developing Sophy. The facts didn't stop Sony from claiming they achieved a "breakthrough" that had "never been done before" when all they did was to create a cheap and clunky "metoo" answer to iRacing AI a couple years after iRacing. Sony also rigged their Sophy AI vs. Human Simracers competition rules so that Sophy could "win" the rematch by cheating after the humans had beaten Sophy in the first contest, and Sony announced their "superhuman" "victory" as if they had achieved some kind of DeepBlue or AlphaGo milestone.The gaming press and popular AI news press keeps repeating Sony's false PR claims to this day. Gaming journalists and AI journalists are basically just a bunch of advertisers who work for the biggest corporations.

@@thecasualracinggamer I had subscribed to iRacing when it 1st started, my best finish was 2nd at limerock park. I waited years for them to implement their AI because I stopped racing online in the sim. They finally did on a few tracks and my home track Road Atlanta which I did a 3 day weekend in real life in the Skip Barber racing School in the skippy. Awesome! Besides the subscription, I got tired of having to buy a car or track to compete in the weekly races. I couldn’t keep up. It’s like chasing a financial tail. Lol

Yeah, I don't really own any of the road stuff since I was buying oval tracks and cars when I started. It would be amazing if you could just race on all tracks with all cars and be included with your subscription.
