This GT7 Go Kart Race is only Fun on PSVR2 // Does Daily Race A even Serve a Purpose? In this video we are going to Brands Hatch for Daily Race A in Go Karts on PSVR2 in Gran Turismo 7. This is a multiplayer, online race where only your safety rating is in effect and not your driver rating which leads me to my question of, what is the point of Daily Race A? In this video I will be discussing why Go Karts are really felt when racing in PSVR2 and does Daily Race A need an overhaul of it's purpose.

The Daytona Oval was Race A when the Corvette c9 premiered and was a perfect race to debut that car.

And we also had Daytona oval in GR3 (American manufacturers only) in Race A the first ever week the ratings were turned off 😉👍

It’s a good thing you stayed in the race to the end as SR will drop if you quit during the race. I am a race A fan and I can just see how all players disappeared when DR updates disappeared, so that’s a shame. On the other hand without DR updates people often are more chilled and not so desperate and I like that too. I am divided on the subject 😃🤷‍♂️ And oh yeah this is definitely a VR2 race 😃

Yeah, I can see some people liking the no DR thing, but I think that's also why it always seems to be the quietest races of the 3.

Will add this to my training regimen in my goal to be good again. The wheel is really really fun and the pedals are amazing but its going to take some practice to get back to my previous speeds... My gt prime lite rig is on the way as well and should help with consistency compared toy homemade wooden rig. Hope everyone has a great week racing!

Yo Cas, great vid. I always race in cockpit on all racing games. I’ve contemplated psvr2 but I have a 42” LG C2 Oled which has a beautiful pic. Maybe psvr3 for me? Idk

@@thecasualracinggamer When I hear that the complete lense view is not in the sweet spot as it is being termed I worry that I would be disappointed with my $500+ purchase. Hoping to be able to try one on somewhere some day so as to dispel some of the negative reviews for myself. Thank you for your response. 👍🏻👍🏻

The sweet spot on PSVR2 is really, really small. You have to get it right to the correct spot over your eyes, or everything will look blurry. It's definitely a negative of the headset. Once in the sweet spot, it does look good. It's immersive enough to make you feel like you're in the car at the track even though things are not all around the clearest and comparable to the quality of a monitor. I just can't race on a flat screen anymore after switching to VR since using it for a few years now since iRacing. It's not just a game in VR, it's an experience.

Daily A used to be like B and C where both DR and SR were effected. Don't remember how soon after release PD changed it. The community never asked for it and have been vocal about wanting them to switch it back. It is a wasted race as you said. Maybe by the time GT8 comes out we can get race A returned to a regular race and maybe add a fourth race. At the very least they could make it so you could make custom lobbies that had DR/SR on.

If they added those options to custom lobbies, people could just race with their friends to raise their rank but not really be at that level of driving going into a daily race.

Good point. Forgot people would just boost themselves and their friends. They could at least make lobbies better for those that run their own leagues like win/loss tracking, setting up tournaments with leadboards. Sport mode only seems to have one foot in being a competitive mode while also trying to be accessible to newer/super casual players. The months long breaks between cups is also disappointing.

The VR capture screen that you are seeing crops the image. I think it does this because it adds some stabilization to the video. In the headset, you see everything as you are sitting in the seat of the Go Kart.

I did this race yesterday and was pleasantly surprised how fun it was in VR. I thought Race A wasn't ranked but it said I went up a few positions, maybe Safety ratings went up only?

There absolutely should be a daily race w/o DR affected. Imagine if someone said "let's make B and C w/o DR too, since I like it more this way".

@@thecasualracinggamer it becomes a conversation about different car selection which I agree with. It looks like it's quite hard to balance those cars. Maybe that's why they stick with GT4 and GT3.

I gotta disagree. Daily Race A is often shorter than B or C, and gives a variety of different cars. Having DR not affected also makes it a lot more "casual" of an experience where you can just have fun.

Yup, respect your opinion. You can race casual in the other races though. Just need to make sure you don't let your DR get to you. Easier said than done though. 😄

@@thecasualracinggamer I hear you, but the length of race C always keeps me away. Race A you also don't have to worry about tire wear or fuel savings. Tuning is also in play lately for race B and C, so again not as casual.
