I have to disagree with Michael's take. While medical school rankings don't necessarily determine a physician's aptitude or patient satisfaction, I believe it's more about the reduced barriers students will face later in their careers. Higher-ranked schools often offer better access to residency programs, networking opportunities, and professional circles, which can significantly impact long-term success in the field. These advantages can also influence a physician's choice of specialty, access to prestigious fellowships, and opportunities for academic appointments or leadership positions within healthcare systems.
