Thanks for mentioning CGS Mike. I didn’t know he wasn’t well and there are so many guitar channels that I honestly did not recognize. I remember the videos when he was proud to setup his studio and all the Chibson discussions. RIP Mike ❤

Hey tone king. Great show again. I had the same little store when I was a kid ( I just turned 50). He had the Swedish fish we would get. Almost every morning on the way to school we were in there. The great thing is. He’s still in business to this day.

Great show, I owned a MIJ RR3 in the past and was scared to play it, fearing I was going to damage the wing on it, well much I'm older now and bought another one (mij)RR3 ,and play the hell out of it, and it's flawless, never getting rid of it 🤘🤙

TTK, I have bought and collected Jacksons since 84 . I had the 12th one made. And even though I agree with the quality if imported guitars. CNC machines even the bar. My only caveat is how long will these guitars last. How good is the wood actually dried? I have old Jacksons and Hamers that have hung on my walls for 10 years and they still are in tune when I take them down. That is quality in all respects. Like I said nice looking guitars and Im sure I could get them to play like a dream but for how long. Thats mu only trouble with import guitars that are being pumped out by the thousands.

I was a huge Jackson collector in the 80's In fact I had the 12th RR made. I bought my first new RR for $1600.00 in 85 if you consider inflation they are not that far out of line with their pricing today for their US built guitars.

Will take a import model over a US model any day. I own many jackson mostly pro series and MIJ(90's). The quality on all myJackson are top-notch. No issues, great qc. Just perfect ,especially MIJ models. Great channel my man!!!!!!!!!

It goes like this - JS (China) -> X-Series (Indonesia, China if Crackle) -> Pro Series (Indonesia, China if Crackle) -> Concept (Korean, highest end parts) -> Japan -> USA. Personally I have the same Indo Pro RR3 and it was pretty flawless QC-wise and looks/sounds great. Bought it for the same reasons (the classic pinstriped Concorde Rhoads look).

I thought the Jackson Pro Series Dinkies were made in Mexico alongside Fender and Charvel.

@@100DollarHeadache Hmmm, the DK2 Ash is made in Korea. I think it depends, some older product lines are still being made in Korea/Mexico but they’re transitioning to the countries I listed above for all the new models I think.

I got the black RRX24 with yellow bevels, i replaced the Floyd special with a Gotoh. Both bridges does dive bombs well and stays in tune, but the Gotoh has much better flutter and it also has a crispier sound

If the KEXS was a Pro Series model with an ebony fretboard, and chrome hardware, I'd be all over it. Not a fan of the sickly medium brown yanny fingerboard. Honestly, if rosewood is unobtainium on the affordable guitars, I'd rather see maple. I miss my DK2M (MIJ).

I know you have always loved Super Distortions pups, I think a JB sounds pretty good also. Our mutual friend Drew ( Fast Red Ponycar ) has a guitar with an Aldrich ) pup in his bridge, you know Aldrich from Whitesnake. If I owned that Red Guitar I would call it the Sammy Hagar since his stuff is Red. BTW, my Wife loves that brand of tea, I have to buy the big jug of it when I buy it for her. Have you seen the new series of Les Pauls from Epiphone? I cannot remember the guitarist name but they are the Silverburst and they have famous paintings on them. The one I like is a painting called " The Berserker " by the artist Frank Franzetta" Check them out.
