Joyce is the same height and dimensions as AJ but weighs 270 lbs. His bone density is real. I suspect his current style means he SEE's everything coming, in the amatuers, he was so green and messy that he got hit while punching more. His construct is better. Chin is also about boxing style and defence along with natural gifts But with that bone density, he should still have better natural chin gifts than most of the division.

Good point about Joyce and Foreman. That's who I used to campare him too and maybe you could compare him to Comeback Foreman ( which George was 38 when he began the comeback and Joe's 37 now) where they can knock over lower tier opponents, but higher up they go they're playing more for accumulated punishment and TKOs. I think the most apt comparison, which might seem strange at first but makes more sense the more i think about it, is Carlos Monzon. Just playing to either not lose rounds whilst gathering intel/memorizing patterns or make the opponents work harder than them with only superficial results that will leave them vulnerable to their fresher, honed in, but still measured onslaught. Monzon was perhaps the greatest master of this approach and Joyce, along with any boxer who has super heavy bones, would be wise to follow suit.

He is 37 years and since those early days JJ has developed, strengthen, hardened and conditioned his bones. We know exercising helps in strengthening bone mass, but we don't really know the methodology he used to accomplish the bone modelling process. What we see are results and in the end that is what really matters. I think Joyce has a great chin. I wouldn't say nobody can knock him out. I don't think that of anyone. I haven't seen Joyce actually knocked out cold or even on unsteady legs. I have seen him get fights waved off by referees. Amateur refs are a bit quick to stop fights. The AJ won, he was stopped on his feet. The Kuzmin one, was first a standing count but his feet looked strong and he looked fine. He was just hit hard and knocked off balance. He was then caught square and put down with a hard punch. I don't think he was even hurt personally. He got up and to me, he looked absolutely fine. Looked steady, wasn't wobbling or looking confused and when it was waved off, he walked away normally. Haven't seen the begueni one but it looks like it was, again, waved off by the referee. I think Joyce has a great chin but I don't think anyone is superman.

Kuzmin fight Joyce was completely fine , stoppages in Amateur fights are fugaze. Getting knocked down is not an indicator of someone’s chin , you can get knocked down due to poor balance but he looked completely fine.

Weirdly today i said, i thought AJ would hit Joyce enough to get it waved off!... i didn't know AJ had already done tgat in the amateurs?? It doesn't mean anything, but i must have seen something???😏

Never thought of it this way, but Joyce is a bigger guy naturally than Fury. He was 271,6 lb without carrying much extra body fat whereas Fury is massively blown up when he's at that weight. Would be a close fight between them since Fury is much faster and slicker. I'd still probably give the edge to Fury though.
@jamielowe4632 жыл бұрын
How is fury up? Also if fury is blown up say like aj is why doesn’t fury gas out if he’s fighting at unnatural weight?

@@jamielowe463 because fury at 270 has a higher body fat percentage than Joyce does at 270

i think Fury just gets complacent when he's winning, he starts to show boat and belivies he can't be hurt until he get s hit off guard.

Hatman = hypocrite. Lemme tell ya why pal. You said in multiple of your vids “Heavyweights develop / mature differently and at different stages” Joyce looked like a noodle in the amateurs. JOYCE HAS GROWN ABOUT 7 STONE SINCE. 🤦🏻♂️ Absolute goon mate sorry but you are. Retire from boxing news pal.

Disagree, both David Tua and Joe Joyce knockdowns came in the early stages of their carers David Tua started much earlier than Joe Joyce who turned to boxing much later, you learn to ride shots better, strength and conditioning is something you develop over your boxing career, both D Tua and J Joyce got better at absorbing those big shots with time, L Lewis said much the same about a fighter that came back from inactivity, taking a big shot early in your career is a big shock to your system, the same can be said if you have been out of the ring for an extended period of time , the same shot that dropped you early in a boxes career is probably not going to have the same effect further down the line, you cannot compare being hit in the amateurs to been hit flush on the chin with the likes of J Parker and Daniel Dubois, that's a ridicules comparison - keep it real, focus on the pro ranks.
