The slow pace of levelling definitely affects my enjoyment of this game - such a wide variety of characters but you are totally limited on just playing a tiny handful of them because of the huge time investment in levelling.

Yeah I think we need more modes that allow us to pick and choose whatever chars we want. I definitely feel like I am levelling “on rails”, rather than with the ones I really want to play

​@DBPreacherTacticus I brought this up in my guildchat, that prioritizing Calgar, Eldyron and Ra yo exclusion of everything else makes opening a Creed or Helbrecht pretty anticlimactic because they aren't "meta" and a waste of resources. I stopped focusing my core raid teams for like a month so that I could play around with all the other characters I'd been neglecting. It helped the game stay fresh for for me, much needed break

Disagree - There is plenty of content for characters between gold 1 and Diamond 1. I don't spend any blackstone on upgrades and I have 25 characters gold 1 or higher. Buying upgrades in the Gold shop increases your character advancement rate immensely. If you were to convert the daily gold spent into energy per item, even at the most efficient farm rate you're getting well over 100 energy worth of upgrades for gold, which comes easy in the game.

I'm not sure I agree, don't get me wrong, it takes so long to do, but it's either that or everyone has a maxed out team, I don't know any games that have ever got it right in the opinion of most players, it's either too hard or too easy, either way most people moan and get bored

The thing is that the growth rate is so extreme that it even outpaces whales. Badges, orbs and shards aside, if you look at just xp there's no way you can keep up with lvl 50 for all the new characters. It takes 199 legendary xp books to lvl up a character from 1 to 50. Even if you are super lucky and get a steady income of 5 books per day, that's 40 days for each character. Upgrades taking 48-57days is ridiculous. If even the whales are outpaced and there no consistent way to revert a character back to lvl1 stone1 and get a refund on the mats then how does SP expect people to try out different combinations of characters? There's a reason most people only focus on the same few characters. They have been proven effective. If you invest in a character and it turns out crap at lvl50 d3 then that's 2 months and a bunch of vs down the drain forever. No one is willing to take such a risk in a game.

My big concern for the future of the game is that we always need new players joining, but what are they able to work towards right now? They will never be in the top guilds through their own skills, nor will they be able to compete for the top prizes. I imagine it must be quite disheartening for them.

@@DBPreacherTacticus I absolutely agree. Most games have some mechanism that spurs early game growth so that new players can enjoy all content at a reasonable rate. Tacticus has no such system. It actually kept all the early-game systems that intentionally stunt growth so that players don't cap out too soon and quit. Usually these systems are chance-based systems. Like orbs for example. The only way you can select the orbs you want is from the paid battle passes. In no other instance is a specific orb guaranteed. Onslaught: mvp orb, crate orb is luck based GR boss kill: reward is luck based GR shop: the faction and rarity you will see is luck based Legendary pack: luck based between shards, orbs and badges Orb pack: faction is luck based Req pulls: no further description needed Systems like this are OK for the early game as in less than 6 months of service. But this game is over a year old for God sake... To make matters worse it is actually harder for new players to grow with all the added new characters. How are they supposed to increase the rarity when they can't get shards? Plus the upgrades are capped by rarity lol

I can't even level some characters because, they are too low level to bring into onslaught, because they are greyed out due to low powerlevel and you can't replay lower level onslaught. There are some quite problematic roadblocks in leveling and the overall time investment is about 30-50% too much at higher levels.

I was always annoyed at how Onslaught orbs don’t increase with the stage level. You get the same orbs at stage 1 as you do stage 40, when all the enemies are Gold and Diamond level and one-shot your best character.

Upgrade acquisition isn't egregious - If you farm nodes efficiently, you can advance characters quite fast. Don't farm 11%, 17% nodes, it's a waste of energy and will slow your progression. Work to unlock nodes that are the most economical energy-wise. If you have a node that costs 10 energy and guarantees a rare upgrade vs a 40% or less, farm the 10 energy node 3 times and wait until the next day to continue farming when it resets. You're pissing away energy which = time in this game when you impulse farm low % nodes just so you can upgrade a character quicker( which you actually are not because you're wasting energy). Also buy all upgrades in the gold shop DAILY(except legendarys that have no primacy). You're getting like 100-200 energy worth of items for just gold that replenishes quickly. This will advance your characters fast. I have 25 characters between gold 1 and Diamond 1 and I don't spend any blackstone on upgrades A wide roster unlocks more nodes that are more efficient AND help you immensely in Legendary events. You also get scrolls for completing camoaigns. I don't spend any blackstone on "Almost there" bundles for Legendary Events and I complete all events. A wider roster is infinitely more valuable than having a few Diamond characters. Lastly the battle pass is ALWAYS worth it no matter what character is being featured. The character shards are the LEAST valuable thing about the battle pass - All the energy, blackstone, XP books, and upgrades are the real value of them. Playing efficiently gets you really far and accelerates your character roster quickly in this game.

@cagr-bravesouls7257 If you are a new player I think the ultimate battlepas is worth it - You get a lot of very valuable Legendary XP books and Requistion scrolls to unlock new characters or shards to fast track existing ones. In the US, it's the price of a meal at a sit down restaurant, so I certainly think the value is there. When you're a higher level player and your roster is larger, I see less value in the Ultimate battle pass. The standard battle pass is also a great value for a new player.

Hey, another great vid! Happy to see you) As you said, the experience is the bottleneck of all those upgradings. I hope they will somehow make it easier (maybe giving more xp to characters with higher upgrade rank?) Planning my first D1 upgrade for the next Ragnar event to get him to 5 stars - it's gonna be Tyrant Guard as he is currently an MVP along with Isabella in those events. But man, those levels... I don't know if I can level them up in time.

Same here, but I am not a new player. I have 3 gold 1 chars, but just taking my time and working everyone I have unlocked to lvl 26 and silver 1.... skills, xp and gold are my gates right now. for me slow and steady is the way to play all of the chars and see which ones i like to play while working the meta as well. just remember to have fun

Sadly Snowprint did not yet address, or aknowledge the problem of a to steep curve for ressources and time after level 35 (if we are generous) but tbh I think it goes wrong latest around level 30. I certainly hope they will implement some changes rather sooner then later. It would make the game way more fun if you could build a team for the Meta and also build your favorites!

Thank you for showing all of that information in an easy-to-digest format. I think that with myself (as I suspect with most people), I create a goal (or three) with regard to whom I want to level, but then sometimes go off on a tangent because I got a new character and want it to be leveled past stone (for instance, Ragnar when I got him). Or, I find myself sometimes farming the last of what a character needs that isn't currently on my list but I got most of the upgrades from boxes or rewards (over time). As I hone in on the last 2 days of my first diamond character (Celestine), I find myself planning out the "long stretches" of the next 3 diamond characters at the same time after this. For instance, with Bellator, I may farm only his legendary upgrade at 60 energy for 20ish days before even beginning the other upgrades. All the while, I'm focusing mostly on getting characters to Gold 1 for LREs (especially the next one since I have never done that LRE and it's the last of that particular character).

I like the slow pace I usually burn through mobile games too quickly but this kinda forces me to slow down and play 10-30 minutes a day and get what I need out of it, the grind can be a bit overwhelming though when I’m closing in on something like an elite campaign or a legendary event.

The you have a game that will last you for the rest of your life. If you don't use codex you have about 50 years of content without sp adding anything new and currently the roster expansion with 20 characters /year. Using books cuts this down to a manageble decade tho

at this point I think the only character worth taking to lvl 50 is eldryon for doom. with the amount of effort required you could bring your weaker characters to silver 1 or gold 1 for lre's then focus on getting the 7 or 8 characters required for guild raids up to diamond 1.

Tripling the coin & XP you get from normal campaigns would help a great deal. Not exactly a hard fix. For every character you max out chapter master you get 10 legendary XP scrolls as a reward because fuck me you’ll need them. Allow double XP to be a guild reward you get to choose when to use like every other mobile game in this genre. Summoners War lets you pull a Nat 5* character and you can max them out in 10 minutes using the double xp token and using your ingame friends rep monster to farm the highest xp level. You can max out a bunch of monsters in that game in an hour. It’s so easy.

That’s really interesting thanks. Love the stats. Certus taking the longest to level,up is a bit of a joke. It’s going to be a very, very long time before I do that! Currently working on getting Angrax to D3 but not sure I’ll bother with anyone else. When farming upgrades I found I had to do a bit of a detour powering up my Necrons to get access to some of the materials he needs, which was a pain. Any chance of a bar chart which shows the time to get to the various levels stacked on top of each other? Not sure what it’s called but each bar would show eg 20 days bronze, then 25 silver on top then 30 gold on top if it took 75 days total to get to gold.

Even with spending growth are way to slow. If say xcom endgame was balanced for maxxed out characters and it took months of Daily play to get there I feel most would not play past a few weeks but moved on to games with more rewarding gameplay. I have lasted about a year in this game affording them time to start sorting out the economy and the changes made has almost dubbled the requirements (d2-d3=+50%,character pool increased by 40?%) insted. I think the ecomomy is balanced around half the roster and about gold lvl and catchup mechanics are so much needed. I have just gotten my first wings by lre(bought the eventpass and osc). That is 45 free leg orbs and 900 shards. I can likly have those gains in future lre aswell so this is one of the permanent growing gaps between me and a new player since I dont see them ever repeating lre that have been missed. I'm just a few weeks from unlocking calgar from about 150 days of Daily farming. IF I wanted to get him to blue star it would mean about 150 onslaughts or getting him at 0.3% chance twice via 10recs so roughly 6600 recs scrolls for fair shot. So new players have such an absurd long way to maxout a favourite character they are better of forgetting them

Good sales policy is not based on giving less for more money. We are currently in a state where you have to focus on 1-2 characters to max it out in months where we have 71 characters available and 9 on the horizon. I know people who consider quitting because "it stops making any sense" and if they do they won't spend a penny game. Snowprint should consider Reducing recharge energy time to 4,5 min or giving that 50 energy to every free refill each day so it will match the blackstone refill.

I have been playing since xmas and I really don't have an issue with D3 slowing down day 1 players. My rationalle is that this allows new players to catch up by focusing in getting LRE units to D1 while they release more xp options and better farming stages

I almost started to feel like I could put up a fight with my d1's against bluestar d2's but now when faced with the d3 i could still be fielding gold. I rather continue broadening the roster then pushing toons higher so I am multiple years maybe decades away to be competative

Heck, I'm stuck on getting to Gold 1 on Ragnar because of a legendary I can't get until like level 32 indom mirror elite, which means I need to get my necrons to at least gold 1 to get that far in, and they're all silver 1 right now. It's nuts how much you have to level one group of cards just to level another.

I don't believe the bottleneck for the majority of people is exp, but upgrades. Between guild raids, wars, arena, TA, mandatory elite campaigns, etc, getting a solid core of s1s is extremely difficult.

It all depends what level in the game you are at for sure. There are different gates all the way along. Sometimes it’s upgrades, sometimes gold, sometimes having a certain set of characters at a set level (e.g. campaigns or legendary events)!

Exp bottleneck kicks in around gold lvl and on d and above when you start needing 5+ leg badges and 50k+ gold per skill upgrade you have found all bottlenecks and all apply at once (even orb bottleneck are in effect since you are so exp starved that you need those wingboys for extra codecs)

Truthfully, my entire focus has been to get a roster that unlocks LEs. I only have one character above G1. I don’t feel in a rush to take a character to D3, unless some huge benefit emerges. But from my limited understanding of Guild Wars, it’s going to be better to have a wide roster of G1. Am I mistaken?

As a FTP player myself, I’ve gotten to the point on ‘onslaught’ chaos where it’s impossible to go forward. Gold abarax, silver 2, archi, volk, harken, maladus. Silver 1 pesty boy, working on nauseous and my sand boys still all iron rank. But not wanting to waste materials on them while trying to get my elites done at the same time. Raiding should take less energy tbh. Raid tickets aren’t a issue for me. And can we get someone else then gibbascraps as a daily reward? I got way to many of his shards. Or a simple shard trading system? I get his shards in recs as well… it’s annoying.

I think the longest time is to get your characters leveled up to max. Especially when you want to have other characters to be at least decent level, and if you want to try out new characters. My highest character is re'vas and she's still like 40~ level. I can get her to gold 3 soon and I only did arenas for her after I got her to gold 1. It took months for that to happen... So yeah.

Agreed things are starting to look a bit grim. I understand theyre throwing in more for the high end players but its a bit of a contradiction for their other message of having a diverse roster to manage LREs and guild raids. My current goal is just to get everyone to silver and the amount of imperial time its taking for that is rough enough haha! Another thing i noticed though is with the world eater item upgrades coming in, its knocked a couple of elite raidable nodes to get items quicker, so its diluting that pool and potentially pushing times too

I made the (either mistake or good decision) of balancing my whole team together. My gold 3 eldryon is my strongest character, I have 5 characters at gold 2 and 19 gold 1 characters. The upside to this is that I can switch my team around for all game modes and enjoy gameplay more, the downside is that I am power level 50 and have half the power level of other people who are level 50 that focused on a core team. I don’t regret playing this way, but I definitely feel the difficulty getting xp tomes. Just getting eldryon to level 44 seems like an impossible task to me

I have played 1 year. No characters are above Gold 1. The amount of characters to choose from is so great that you need to choose and that sucks. Atm I want to upgrade Ra, Ragnar, Aunshi, Abraxas, tangida and mech healer. Level 35-50 just put me off. So much xp, badges is needed and then the upgrades/Energy. They could choose to share xp between characters would helped to get to level 50. If a character is max that xp is shared between those who can get it.

@@Zwedinho Sounds like you're doing well for LRE. All depends on what you're focus is. My LREs were crappy until I started leveling non-GR units. Now I'm able to get any that come out on 1st or 2nd try. I've only missed out on Jain Zar so far.

Got in a fight with trenton on doscord because i called the rewards from guild raids dogshit after seeing nadis vid. He thinks resource economy is in a fine place. And of course all the top guildys who have been reaping the now nerfed rewards dogpiled on. Then we found out the reqard was 1 book a week after SP saying constantly "we want to improve resource economy with guild wars rewards" Its not great. Its starting to feel like a chore to play this game.

My recommendation is to try and find the fun in the game again. For me, that has always been the goal of legendary events. Right now I am going for 5 starring my legendary characters. Next step is wings ^^

The problem it's not that take too long. The problem is that there are new characters, but we cannot level up them becouse there is no time to do it and a great lack of experience. So we must stick with the old ones.

the game was actually anti whaling. the pve arena was easy as a mediocre payer because ai suxx. tournament arena was limited to rarities and getting top 20 in guild raids was also not so hard if you are not completely f2p. with the new guild wars it has a bigger impact, since u can have 5 legend setups on difficulty 5. ye it takes ages to level up a char to 50 and even longer to get the badges for skills. as much i like mobile games to create new content over and over again, devs in this game are totally overdoing it by releasing new chars weekly

The moneygrab from these guys is insane. The little amount of stuff you get here is beyond ok. Playing this F2P isn't possible, and I regret the few battle passes I got before. The progress is beyond slow, and there are too many gates for a game that's supposed to be about a diverse roster to try out different combinations of characters and abilities.

Why would you say it’s not possible? This game shits out blackstone if you just play it, so getting exp books is really easy. Join a half baked guild and you’ll be swimming in books from guild raids. Farming campaigns is brain dead easy. Idk what you’re talking about

It wouldn't be too long if the game had some fun somewhere, but it's just a grindfest with almost zero flavor where you get the most thrills by watching paypigs surpass your power level The number of views the content of this kusoge speaks for itself, anyone that doesn't uninstall after seeing how it works would just eventually get tired and leave, it's a matter of time really It's just another shitty cashgrab in the already impressive GW trash games portfolio, I guess they really enjoy their business shortsightedness

@DBPreacherTacticus where's the tactical aspect of the battles, in the pvp where everyone is a whale and you just can't win or in the campaigns where maps go from too easy to you need to farm every day for a week to bring this character on par with the enemies? I don't have anything against you man, but this game is frustratingly terrible, and it's maddening how every single GW mobile is microtransaction hell
