But I started with Horus Rising which is the first on the 30k books; but if you're particularly into none space marine factions, something like Gaunts Ghosts books are very enjoyable too

Dark Angels are paranoid retards. Ultramarines are straight forward do gooders (depending on if your a xenos lover i guess) blood angels are the best. (simple fact) Ravengaurd are sneaky boys and badass also NightLords are mutilators and have the coolest armor hands down Death guard like poison and are chaos bugs n shit White Scars don't get the love they deserve but hey they got jet bikes Thousand Sons like warp shit and psychic shit. They lame af tbh Salamanders are the actual do gooders, but with fire. Space wolves are just shitty viking things. Alpha Legion is confused. Word Bearers are zealots. Imperial fists are stubborn suicidal bastards. (very proud of em) Iron Warriors are siege breakers, and probably the most actually effective legion, and carried the heresy while horus was beating off. Iron Fists cut off their hands and use metal ones and overall balance between fuckery and cool shit. World Eaters are berserkers. Oh and crazy af Emperors Children prove that drag shows do damage children. And last but not least the Luna wolves. aka sons of horus. They were dope af before they turned traitor. Lore of Dark Angels always was weird for me. Strange corrupted planet with hordes of monsters, that instantly attacking civilized places; mysterious gnomes in cloaks, that somehow can conservate demigod in stasis due to millennials. And on the top of it - biggest heretical insurrection of loyal legions. I know that DW don't care about the story, but in my headcanon returning of primarch of 1st legion is one of the main schemes, that chaos gods is playing in the 40k lore

So in this instance the Templars managed to capture a Fallen. The DA fleet who were aiding them turned their weapons on the crusading Templar force and demanded the prisoner remanded to them. The Templars eventually complied. Then that Templar force went missing in the void. It’s implied that the Angels destroyed them because they had seen a Fallen.
