Great review. Hope you continue with Mistborn. I love both eras. Also his Stormlight Archive books are Wonderful. The magic system in those is incredible. I highly recommend those!❤ Any of his books really.

16:20 If you look at the numbers and the legend on the city map, you'll see you DO in fact have Keep Venture, Hasting, Lekal and Erikeller, Clubs's shop, and a whole other lot of things in there, even on the one you show before :D. Though perhaps those weren't in your books....? I'm also pretty sure there's an appendix with the metals on the back... Not positive though.

You have it but with the 8 base metals only for the final empire I think, and you got more metals for the other books

Would definitely recommend looking into mistborn era 2, its a different approach to the story and has a more modern vibe, but some of the character dynamics are actually even more deep and interesting than in the original trilogy - plus they continue to add new aspects to metal based magics and even technology in mind bending ways. I liken it to the avatar the last Airbender and legend of Korra if youre familiar, but more fully realized. Hope to see a well of ascension review down the line!

(Lana replying) I'm definitely looking forward to diving deeper into the Cosmere. I just started Elantris and am loving it so far.

@@ReadingCrossbow awesome! If you end up liking that one a lot, check out The Emperor's soul. It's a short story that takes place on the same world as elantris, but in a country the elantris characters don't interact with. It's part of the Arcanum Unbounded cosmere short story collection that I'd definitely pick up if you're thinking of digging deeper...

I was saying on Rob's channel, the audio book is so good. It was like an action movie, the push and pull of metals, it was very intense. I read and listened to the audio book a few months ago after watching a different review and it reminded me just how good this was.

(Lana responding) The audio book was more "meh" for me, but I loved reading those push/pull scenes. So good!

I've read mistborn era 1 and i end up giving this first trilogy 7.8/10 score. It's good, not bad, but not that great either for me. The characters are fine; i love Vin, Elend, Kelsier, Ham, Breeze, Spook (especially him, i LOVE him soooo bad). The plot is so-so, the romance part tho... idk, not my cup a tea in this series. And then the ending... I hate the ending tbh. Not because what happened to our beloved two main characters, but about SAZED... 🤣

(Lana replying) I was not prepared for Spook's character getting such a cool arc!! So good! Also Breeze, I just love Breeze.

Its one of the best 2 books i have ever read. The third… i think it mishandles it immensely.

(Reply from Lana) BIG AGREE!!! And I know that's hugely debated, but I hate the ending of 3. The rest of Book 3 was fine for me.

I was underwhelmed, but only because some reviews said the series is among the best ever written so my expectations were very high. Still a good series. I was entertained.

Did you real the full series? Book 1 is definitely slower but Book 2/3 are jam packed with action and delve much deeper into the magic system.
