I'd say both matter. You want extra cores and threads for background tasks, but at the same time for gaming you want good single thread performance. Due to most games not being multi threaded.

I bought an old HP Z440 with 4 core E5 1620 V3. Put in a E5 2670 V3 12 core only because the CPU was $15 Australian. I just wanted to have a crack. Thought about an NVME to see how things might go, but after some research, decided not to. Goes alright for a dinnasoar. Thanks for the informative video. I really had no idea. does amd ryzen use 2 threads per core or 1 , 3 threads per core for example in the amd ryzen 5 5600x there are 6 cores 12 threads this means that there could be each core capable of handling 2 threads per core or 3 cores that can handle 3 threads at the same time and 3 cores that can handle 1 thread at the same time also giving us 6 core and 12 threads which one is it?

No, they organize it like groups based on the kind of application. It can be said that all the apps on the background is handled by one of the cores if it has enough power to deal with it. Opening chrome probably won't fill the core as it still has space do deal with more apps.

@@peaceboyy3949 there is no single core on the market bro, the weakest cpus out there for intel are petiums, if you don't play games or don't work with demanding apps like renders you will be fine with a petium or any dual core from and. I also recommend saving some money for a ssd and a least 8ram ddr4 for this is what makes you pc fast.
