Does my wife still like our VW Id.7 after 1 year?

I love that Cindy does a proper "users review". Instead of reeling off a load of facts like, "this has 77kwh battery", "this has a heat pump" blah blah blah. Actually telling us what it's like to use. What the pro's and con's are. What's useful, what's not. How the design helps drivers.

Can't believe Cindy is 22. I was convinced she was 18 (at the most). I have had my ID.7 Tourer for 3 months now and have basically the same positive and negative points. Had Skoda Enyaq before, it had a loud blinker sound but they fixed that already couple of years ago. Must be such an easy software fix. Same goes for the sensor loudness. I could turn it way down in the Enyaq so it was almost like just a background noise, and it was great - still there for the safety, just not annoying. But overall, a great car. Compared to Enyaq with the same battery (77kW) you can tell the difference in efficiency/range especially on the highway (though they may have gotten a bit better with the technological update last year).

Always love the Cindy reviews! But Cindy, I've got to say, pressing "set" when you get to the speed you want is literally how every cruise control system in the world works 😅 But great to see another convert; I love cruise, I use it EVERYWHERE 😀

The distance between the steering wheel and seat is adorable :-) If the sound of the blinker is the worst part of a car, it probably means it's a pretty good car 🙂 I have the same car, a demo driven car less than a year old, fully equipped, which I got for 35,000 Euros here in Norway. Absolutely love it so far. I think the dealers were getting rid of their demo cars to find space for the GTX Tourer, which undoubtedly will be the bestseller in Norway. What I miss most from my old Passat GTE 2018 is the hidden (and always clean) rear camera, and the ability to show personal photos (slide show) on the infotaintment system (SD Card). I also somewhat miss the low seating position.

🤘the shirt 😮 The Problem with the dirty back up camera: VW has a Solution for that, at my car its hidden behind the vw logo / trunk opener. It tilts out when the reverse gear is active. It probably was too expensive, so they ditched it.

8 mins in and she sound as she loves this car like I love my Skoda Enyaq. I love lane Assist and cruise etc. steering heater and seat heater. Even my dog loves it.

What you say about the parking sensor beeping is so true. Freaked me out the first weeks I had the car. Also the always dirty backup camera is not nice. My e-Golf and my ID.3 did that better. And last but not least the armrest. Why is it not like in the e-Golf. The car has so many great features and is wonderfully designed. But at a few points you have the feeling that the team of developers just wanted to finish work that day and went for the first and easiest solution...

The turning circle is important and another reason im considering this car. I have Tesla M3P and it makes me feel like a learner in car parks - poor turning circle and fragile rims, no ultrasonic sensors and cameras that are always dirty in UK weather! Nice review - any car i get has to pass the 'wife test'. My old i3 passed with flying colours (she took it off me) , but my Tesla failed it years ago (so im confident the Highland version will be even less popular)! 😂

I think she’d be happy with an Enyaq. If a camera stays wet or dirty. Clean it with some silicone spray. The water will just roll off it.

I have an enyaq, i have the exact same issue with the reverse camera... My solution is a Microfiber cloth, i wipe it clean everyday... Kinda frustating though...

@@andykphoto I don't understand, why VW didn't release the ID.5 and 7 in North America. We can only buy the ID.4 in a terribly downsized version, no 360degree camera, no folding mirrors (at least with the 2024) version and a bad quality control in the USA factory. I also would like to have the European version of the tail lighting, but this is a personal preference.

@ my ID4 was one of the first batch from Emden, I think in late 2021… but yeah… I’m sure they would tell us that there isn’t enough market for an electric sedan from VW, but… It’s the only one I both want and could possibly afford 🙈
