Yep! S1mple needs that Faker style transition. Faker was the star carry of the team and switched to a supporting igl role when other younger midlaners caught up and that's how he dominated the #1 esport in the world for a whole decade. And I think s1mple can do the same with his experience.

Nobody needs s1mple with the headspace he's currently in - namely that he has achieved everything there was to achieve in CS:GO and simply does not enjoy CS2. Additionally, he's not a super-young talent anymore, he's a bit of a veteran of the scene at this point and there has been talent like monesy or donk - or hell, even wonderful, who replaced s1mple on NaVi - upcoming, which has people a lot more excited rn. The game has just moved on and that's alright. s1mple will forever be a legend and I'd love to see him as an analyst or in some other role involved in the community, but I don't need him back in the server if he clearly doesn't enjoy being there.

ngl, your point about Astralis is why I stopped watching much pro CS -- or following a team, I just pop in for clips and seeing the next talent, who is now donk, whereas it was monesy as simple v2 just a few months prior, and so on. Astralis made CS feel like a ''real'' sport because of their consistency. It wasn't luck, it wasn't a fluke, teams could transfer star players around and still not crack the Astralis code, it was just 5 players working in perfect synergy who stuck together and perfected the meta, winning without even dropping a single map. Once they split, I was kinda done with CS. I feel like if you take a break from CS (or any sport) for 6-12 months and literally that one average team is now the best team ever, but everyone has also switched players, I just dunno fam, I don't like it. It makes the game feel less legitimate as a true ''sport''. It's like playing FIFA or PES back in the day and every transfer window would just be so ridiculous you couldn't take it serious a couple seasons in. Simple not being on Navi shocked me, Astralis not even being the best team in Denmark is wild, but device is back at least, Faze are actually...good and not just Niko, who now is on G2? And wtf is a team Falcons and why is dupreeh, magisk and zonic there? Weren't they just on Vitality? I could go on and on. Maybe some people like all that, I don't. There's no ''team'' anymore, it's just a random assortment of the same Top players who shuffle around endlessly with random teams winning eventually.

I believe the biggest "problem" for s1mple is that old NaVi (s1mple, electronic, Boomb14, Perfecto and B1t) were really close, they were friend, s1mple can easily buy a new iPhone for Perfecto, for example, go to pub, etc. International roster is not for him, s1mple will never send Aleksi a message like "Hey bro let's go out", etc. We've seen that after the win, how s1mple congratulated B1t, hugging, holding, they are true friend, soulmates I would say even. The best team for s1mple would be Cloud9, but it will never happen due to war.

It is very common that a superstar player creates pressure to other teammates. We don't know if this was the case with S1mple's NAVI, but it would explain why jL and iM ratings increased. In competitive sport this is not the first time that after a superstar leaves the roster, the team starts performing better. It also happened in football. For example when Christiano Ronaldo left ManU, the team started playing better as a team. Anyways, the current NAVI roster was still brand new. We never know for sure how things would have ended up in major with S1mple playing instead of w0nderful.

If they were to keep the majority Russian roster (unless electronic, BoomI4, and perfecto were to abandon their Russian citizenship) would be canceled by the Ukrainian public and government as well. There is also a law that prohibits Ukrainian athletes to perform in tournaments where there are Russian players or something of that sort. TL:DR this example doesn’t apply

While riding the topic of S1mples cs program, maybe the answer is creating a new team with promising new talents like Ence did with the full finnish team with allu, Aleksib etc. Talking purely business S1mple is just too expensive of a player to be bought by any team. Even the loan to Falcons for just a month cost a lot. I don't think retiring is an option either, because he knows it would disappoint many fans of him. The only real option is something out of the box.

Csgo and cs2 is dfferent, almost everyone acknowledges that the awp is nerfed is cs2. S1mple was the best awper/pro player in csgo. Due to changing times today, teams are no longer heavily dependent on awpers. Smokes and mollys are wider, flicks are nerfed, and movement animation or peeker's advantage is so fast. In today's game teams are better to have excellent team work and coordination than to rely on a single person. Csgo was an aim precision beast of a game while cs2 favors more on teamwork. That's why you don't need someone like s1mple ONLY but also the whole team synergy.

Don't miss the whole point of this comment. I still regard s1mple and m0nesy as the 2 of the very best awpers rn. But to win a tournament, you only wanna need a decent awper and a really great team synergy. Take nicodoz for example or story or boom1... (from cloud 9), their teams managed to reach playoffs in certain cs2 tournaments.
