I used to see Sam around my old Neighborhood in SF and at Amoeba and I always wanted to ask him what he was buying, but I never did. Mostly, his mustache was hypnotic and by the time I'd come out of the trance, he would be gone. So maybe in a future episode he can highlight a few of the goodies he's found at Amoeba?

Yeah, I guess Golden Axe could be thought of as a brawler to a degree, and then not really. Hack 'n' slash is a good description. Now, Alien Storm, that's definitely not a brawler or a hack 'n' slash; it's just very cool.

I have yet to listen to the full episode, but I'd like to declare shenanigans on this week's 20 Questions. I've always considered Golden Axe a brawler, and always saw hack 'n' slash games as a sub genre of brawlers/beat-em-ups. As soon as you guys said Sega, I instantly thought Golden Axe, except for the brawler question. Shenanigans, Daemon!!

Regardless of what Nintendo has planned for 2DS/3DS going forward, I think it should basically put every 2DS/3DS game on Switch too from now on, and that includes both new games and all of the games currently in the 2DS/3DS library. If it were up to me there would be an amazingly complete Virtual Console service on Switch right now, and it would absolutely include every single 2DS/3DS game that can possibly be on there.

I like my Switch. Zelda and Mario Kart are great. However the lack of online features in Mario Kart or the Switch overall never get mentioned on IGN because you guys work at a place where everyone games. The fact I have to use my PS4 with my friends in order to talk while we play Mario Kart is sad for 2017. And before the "hey it's free" retort, the PS3 had better online when it was free years ago. Nintendo definitely gets a pass from most of their fans. As an owner of all three consoles I'll weigh the cons with the pros for all of them. Also not being able to race other people with your friends sucks.

The fast travel anywhere medallion and hard mode seem like things that should've always been there. Not to mention the new costumes. Im still very frustrated that a lot of the best costumes (besides dark link) are amibo exclusive. specifically, OoT link. Thats the only one i wanted and i cant find the amibo in stores at all. Epona too. I hope they come out with a game of the year version wth everything included but sadly i doubt it

Does Nintendo get a pass? No people are actually a lot harsher on Nintendo, while ignoring 90% of all other games' DLC or Season Pass' (which are more often than not more shitty). My opinion: Hard mode and the map feature should've been (in a perfect world) free updates, the rest is fine to charge money for.

Trust me; VR has made the splash that anyone actually working in VR was expecting it to make. VR is by no means under-performing or going away anytime soon; it just didn't do what the largely make-it-up-as-you-go-along business analysts thought it might. But, anyone who's working in VR and anyone who's played VR for more than a few mins will know fine well that it's something genuinely special and is here to stay, regardless of what Oculus is doing for E3 this year. Don't listen to analysts or largely ill-informed media types (and that includes a bunch of the guys at IGN, sadly), and actually look at the overall sales figures across the industry and the typical adoption rater of brand new platforms like this (and this really is the birth of a brand new platform/medium), and then you'll see that VR is doing just fine and dandy. In fact, let's all try and remember this moment in say five or ten years time and see if the doubt/worry about VR's future was warranted or not. . . .

I believe PS2 is the best selling console of all time. The original PlayStation is 2nd and the Wii is 3rd. Even though PlayStation is a younger company than Nintendo, it has sold 100 million more consoles than Nintendo. But Nintendo is by far the highest selling handheld manufacturer. I ain't shitting on Nintendo, just making a joke. When I get a Switch it'll be the first Nintendo hardware I've owned since GameBoy Advanced. I'm routing for them to succeed.

@AidenAlias7 жыл бұрын
guamae I kinda want them to either do Xbox 2 and be like an iPhone where ever couple years a new ones released and it's not until a couple later that you'll be forced to upgrade. or just call it the Xbox. and just leave it at that then the "Xbox" seems like the prime version while the one S seems more like a more affordable version like how their are the more budget version of iPhones released
@guamae7 жыл бұрын
AAA games playable on the previous system is kinda a tricky thing... Like Black Flag was PS3 and PS4... but people could tell it was being held back for the old software... so while I agree with you that I want new games to be playable on the XBox 1 as well as the Xbox 2... there's gotta be a point, but I don't know what that point is... I want games like Shovel Knight and Super Meat Boy to be playable on Xbox 1, 2, And 3 with minimal effort, because they're obviously not pushing the hardware.... It's all a tricky situation... P.S. If Scorpio was Xbox 2, it would FINALLY make Xbox "One" make sense...

Nintendo, arguably the most inept and least consumer friendly of the Big Three, discovers the year 2011 and implements season passes into games that don't need them for egregious price points and then are applauded for it. Yeah, I'd say they get a pass.
@mathewiverson25537 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call Zelda's season pass egregious in anyway, and no one is applauding fire emblems $45 dlc. Nintendo, like every other company, does some great things and some shit things. Which is very understandable, since game companies have to please fans and investors at the same time.
@jackapplebaum56787 жыл бұрын
I personally don't think the price is an issue for BOTW's either, it's the content, ergo the value. As per Ryan's observation, a lot of it seems superfluous save maybe a bonus dungeon. I don't doubt Valentia's pass will sell either, and it will be just another precedent for this model for them going forward.

I have seen no indication that this new Breath of the Wild "Map Feature" will be visible in actual gameplay like they are talking about here. From what I saw on Nintendo's site it is just a map screen tracker that you can rewind and watch in that screen only. So either these guys are mis-informed or they know more than what is public, but honestly I suspect the former. While that would be kind of cool to see, big crayon lines all around you in game sadly I doubt that's the case.
