My mom told me a couple things to help out with the mosquitoes at work. 1. They do not like lavender 2. They do not like coconut oil I mix the two together and put it on after I shower. Has worked magnificently! 3. They do not like the purple Fabuloso (the cleaner). It has lavender it as well I believe. I put some in a spray bottle and dilute it some and spray it around and on everything I can. Also has worked magnificently! My mom sprays it on her patio in Alabama and it has worked!

Oh yeah. After I wash I use : A Large - Tooth Comb (like a Natural Comb)to detangle, then I use a slightly smaller tooth Comb for fine detangling, then I use a medium density Brush to smooth it out so I can braid it. From what I can tell, my hair seems to be about a 4A. I always start at the ends of the hair and work toward the root when I comb/brush my hair.

Kandid must love TGIN's moisturizing shampoo too lol. I love moisturizing shampoos but I feel my hair styles lasts longer after a clarification. Although it is recommended that we use a moisturizing shampoo after clarifying.
@lupe29475 жыл бұрын
The Cure I think a lot of people are having issues with pattern because they don’t clarify and haven’t before reviewing. Leftover oils and deposits from previous products are surprisingly hard to get off completely and def affects how much moisture hair can absorb and it affects their results
@thecure39825 жыл бұрын
@@lupe2947 Pattern and TGIN, are actually pretty strong shampoos. Cosmetologists would consider them on the clarifying side.
@lupe29475 жыл бұрын
The Cure I’m sure they are! But the brands don’t market them as clarifying and looking at the ingredients, they leave the hair surface coated in moisturizing ingredients. Clarifying shampoos clean the layers of deposits so that moisturizing shampoos and conditioners can work as intended. Just from me knowing a lot of people use oil laden products and don’t clarify as they should, lighter products like patterns prolly cant stand a chance. Just my lil story, I thought devacurl was utter trash, but when I clarified first then went in with their cleansing product and conditioner, I was actually impressed. I was using silicones and oils before and even though my shampoo was sulphate based, it still have hair coating ingredients in it. Same thing with kinky curly products, it wont work properly on coated hair. I feel when people do these reviews, it should be a must to clarify first as we just don’t know what’s been in their hair prior or what kind of buildup they may or may not have

Try turning the brush the long way when detangling your hair. Meaning hold the brush vertical as opposed to the traditional way. That will help reduce breakage and not feel like wasted money lmboo. I know that brush wasn’t the best for our type four hair. Hope this helps!?

Glad you reviewed because there are a small % of black women hating on it before it launched. Knocking the products because they have an issue with Tracee being biracial and type 3 hair. Despite Tracee’ own words about the products working for type 4’s. Now there are videos showing they do work on type 4’s, the haters are still running their mouths. Basically some don’t consider her black and are not supporting her specifically for this reason. SMDH, black people can be their own worst enemy sometimes.

This product was a “NO” for my type 4 hair. I couldn’t even comb the conditioner through my hair. The alcohol content dried my hair out and my hair just didn’t feel moisturized. The entire line wasn’t anything to write home about. Did not like the scent of these products - made me sick. I’ve since returned all of the products in this line and happily and nappily went back to my other line (which worked best for my hair) - Carol’s Daughter and my Denman easily glides through my hair as well as the comb compared to the Patterns line. Not sure how others are having a positive experience but guessing others have a batter tolerance to the Pattern products than others like myself. If it works for you, great and if it doesn’t, great - you’ll know and will feel a difference in your hair to make an informed decision on whether to continue to use or run. I chose the latter.

My daughter has hair more like Tracee Ellis Ross and she has to use a very spacious brush for her mixed hair. Using a natural comb is the best. As, never comb your natural hair if isn't wet.
