At least probably not as much as most people think. Hello my whoop friends. Important: I don't want to tell anyone what is right and what is wrong. And I know this is not a scientific test. And no conclusive proof that everything I say is true. I just want to pass on my experience to you here. I'm simply giving my opinion (the opinion of an experienced race and test pilot) and hope that it can help some of you. My ultimate goal is to pass on the joy of this beautiful hobby to you. Let`s move on. Conclusion of my test flights with various PID tunes (the filter tune was mostly the one from UAVtech, except for the last video): PID tuning doesn't make that much of a difference with a (or my) smooth racing flying style (racing with high kv builds on 3-Blade Props). 5-10% maybe? Definitely not enough that I'm dealing with PID tuning now (not yet). I have more problems with too little power. With more power I could easily fly 20-30% faster. That's why I'd rather take care and experiment with the hardware at the moment so that I can somehow get more power... maybe go back to 2S power train with today's technology?🤔 Please note I wasn't particularly focused on those evenings, hence the many crashes and inaccurate flying. But I can assure you that with all PID tunes (including the stock Betaflight) you can fly very very quickly. Sure, the UAVTech PID Tune feels very clean and precise. But as I said, with more power I could fly much faster. And I don't have any problems with propwash (in indoor racing and outdoor racing flying style) anymore since I'm flying smoothly and efficiently. ⚠️Practice is and remains the most important thing my friends.⚠️ And what I also noticed is that I prefer 96khz software for the ESC in the 1S whoop range (with high kV motors). It gives me more consistency in racing. Especially during training/races over several laps. And as I said, prop wash isn't such a problem if you can fly smoothly. I hope you understand what I mean friends. In any case, I hope you have fun practicing. My tip for everyone: ⚠️Don't waste too much time with PID tuning (racing with high kv builds on 3-Blade Props) until you can fly at least like me or better..⚠️
And a second tip: The 75 Pro is a really good whoop! And even ok for indoor racing like I do when flown with GNB 450mah or GNB 380mah lipos..
Happy whoopin my friends! Whoop whoop! :-)
