Between the 75 and 75pro, which one do you prefer? And which one has better flight time or is the difference insignificant? I want to fly indoors and I would like to have the best flight time and performance

You mean Betafpv meteor 75 vs meteor 75pro? Then I prefer the 75pro because of the better performance.. and the flighttime is also very good.. Hello my whoop friends! All the important info is here in the video description! This video is not a step by step tutorial. It's just meant to help you and give you motivation to start dewinding whoop motors yourself. The first step is to disassemble and unwind/ dewind the whoop motor. That's what this description and this video is about. I'll hopefully show you the second part (rewind the motor to a new KV or and with thicker wire) in the video part 2 in one to two months. Until then, you can practice disassemble whoop motors with old motors that you no longer need. Then you can take the first step. I hope I can give you motivation and help with this to dewind your first whoop motor. Write me your experiences in the comments and please share the data from your engines (motor name and kv and how many turns) with me. ⚠If you want to be the first to know what I'm doing and what my latest findings and plans are, then pay attention to the community tab of this KZbin channel.⚠ ⚠If you like my work then consider supporting me, be it in the form of a subscription, a like, a comment, a recommendation to your friends, helpful data from your projects or other helpful tips. Without you I wouldn't be able to do this to this extent. Thank you my friends!⚠ ⚠If you are interested in the topic of winding your own motors then check out this facebook group: facebook.com/groups/457333120275712⚠ 0:00 Important info! 0:43 Start of the video 0:50 Removing the shrink tube of the motorcables 0:55 Removing the C-Clip 1:48 Seperate the stator from the motor base 3:17 Dewind the windings of the stator 11:05 Press out the ball bearing 12:35 Pictures (tools, dimensions of the engine, etc.) ► Steps to disassemble / dewind a tiny whoop motor: ● Removing the heat shrink tubing from the motor cables ● Removing the C-clip ⚠use your favorite technique so that the C-clip does not get lost⚠ ● Separate the stator and motor base from the motor bell ⚠be careful not to lose the small washers⚠ ⚠Take a photo or note of the order of the washers⚠ ⚠Store all small parts safely in a closed container⚠ ● Screw the motor base to a holder (old carbon frame, homemade holder, etc.) ● Clamp the stator in homemade clamping jaws ⚠No matter which clamping jaws you choose, they must hold the stator well without crushing it, thats the goal⚠ ● Warm up the motor base with stator with hot air to approx. 80-100 degrees Celsius (So hot that you can't touch it for longer than 0.5 seconds) ● Separate the motor base from the stator (if you need/want this step) ⚠possibly with the help of a screwdriver under the carbon frame / motor base holder to have a lever⚠ ⚠ This step is not always necessary⚠ ⚠Sometimes the PCB ring comes with it and sometimes it doesn't if it's glued on with epoxy. In this case you have to cut the enamelled cables to get the stator away⚠ If the PCB boards are glued on, you can leave them as they are or if you want them gone you have to warm up the motor base with the PCB board again to approx. 80-100 degrees Celsius and then carefully lift the PCB board all around with a small slotted screwdriver. ● Untangle and arrange the enamelled wires on the stator ⚠Note the Termination of your motor. Is it DELTA or WYE Termination?⚠ ● Start unwinding the one cable that is free and count the turns and write them down on a piece of paper after each coil! Our whoop motors have three phases and each phase has three coils. ⚠You have to know that there don't always have to be the same number of turns per phase. For example, some motors have 8,8,9 turns per phase. Or 8,9,8 turns. Make sure you count correctly.⚠ ⚠Sometimes there is epoxy resin in the enamelled wire. In this case the stator must be heated to a temperature of approx. 80-100 degrees Celsius during the entire dewind process⚠ ● With some motors you have to warm up the stator again and press out the upper ball bearing. ⚠After you have dismantled all parts of the Bruhless motor, you can clean it and possibly heat it again to remove any epoxy residue carefully with a fine plastic tool. You have to be careful not to damage the green insulation layer on the stator! If this happens then you have to insulate the open areas on the stator again with a suitable material. (I heard it works with nail polish/nail vanish)⚠ Afterwards, all parts of the Bruhless motor have been disassemled and are ready for rewinding. I hope I can do the rewinding video in the next two months.

Thank you my whoop friend! They are not directly better or worse. Just different. Hard to explain. And I think for me it also has something to do with the fact that I sometimes preheat my Lipos to 40 degrees Celsius. I just flew outdoors yesterday without preheating the lipos and the Lava Lipos were the best in the windy conditions. They gave me the most security in the wind. Lava 450mah for a good power to weight ratio and Lava 550mah for flighttime.. So you can order some weebleeds🙂

Thank you! Unfortunately in this case it didn't work to give this motor more efficiency. But it was worth a try :-) that's the only way you can learn. I now think with this new knowledge and information from the internet that heat is not as much of a problem with whoop motors as it is with larger motors. With whoop motors, the thin wire thickness is probably more of a problem. I'm now trying to re-wind the motor with thicker enameled wire by hand (between 0.25 and 0.3mm)..

Amazing huge job done and explained! About 1st modification- isn't itAWG22 originally and does it make that big of a difference? Could you please explain more in details why those 550mah batteries are bad to use? Where could I got the good/right pids/rates/expos/cuts? And most important... is this Meteor75pro is best drone for 1st one to start practice fpv/acro or you can suggest some other drone to pick?
@butterflyfpv
@butterflyfpv 24 күн бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! Yes original is AWG22. And I changed it to AWG20 cable (The smaller the AWG Number, the bigger the cable) and YES the difference is very big! This is also why it`s not FULL SEND bulletproof anymore with the 550mah lipos and the 5A ESC`s on FULL SEND flights (outdoors with a lot of 100% Throttle, especially in turns). I can feel the ESC`s struggling. I mean it flies, but the question is for how long. I'm 100% sure that an ESC will burn out at some point. I know that from experience! That's why I warned about it in the video. But this really only applies to full send pilots. If you fly with little to no 100% throttle I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem with the 550mah lipos. Indoor racing should also still be possible. You can take the PIDs directly from uavtech. The link is in the video description. And everyone has to figure out the rates etc. for themselves. There are many videos about this on KZbin. I might also make videos about it at some point. But I have little time and a lot to do. But maybe someday I can do it... My plan is that I want to create the best strongest whoop in the world first. And when I've gotten the most out of it and there's nothing left to learn, I'll make more beginner-oriented videos. But first I would like to make performance-oriented videos. I hope you can understand me.. YES Meteor75pro is a very very good (if not the best) to start practice!
@Braincho

@@butterflyfpv Thank you! Will need to buy awg20 cables and change it. Is it same for Meteor65pro(I already have this one). Didn't get the part about 450 and 550 batteries... what is the point and difference(why one is bad and the other is ok for the ESCs - will it be still a problem if i upgrade the cables?)(also what flight time you have with either?)
@butterflyfpv
@butterflyfpv 18 күн бұрын
@@Braincho No I`m not sure with Meteor65pro since it is low kv. But you can give it a try and give me feedback. Regarding the Lipos: With the AWG20 cable plus 550mah Lipo you can pull more amps because lipos with higher capacity and bigger cables do have less internal resistance. So if you go full send with a lot of throttle then there may be larger amp spikes. And because the esc on the 75pro is already tight, it may be that it is too much for the ESC.. It can. It doesn't have to. So if you don't fly at 100% throttle all the time then you can fly with 550mah lipos without any problems. But with the 450s the whoop feels lighter due to the lower disc load and is more maneuverable..

Good Stuff 👍 I found the carbon fiber ring protector/mounts from the motor wire at the base of the motors is often misaligned and not seated properly which can increase motor sound. First time I have seen these and thinking it might be good to remove them for weight. You think they help performance in some way?

Thank you! Interessting! It will be difficult to remove these carbon rings without rewinding the motor. And no, these PCB rings are not for the performance of the engine.
