Does pistol barrel length really matter?

Does pistol barrel length really matter for bullet speed and energy? Is a 4 inch barrel really that much better than a 3 inch barrel and is a PCC with a 16 inch barrel 5x better than those? Today we find out in a real life test of 9mm in a Sig P365, PSA Dagger, and Keltec Sub 2000.

Few questions. 1) Didn't quite understand, so the P365 penetrated least? (I got the other two). 2) How thick is the wood? exactly 1" a piece? 3) Is the wood the stronger stuff, or on the softer side?

The P365 penetrated the least. 1.5 inch structural pine. It's a 2x12x8 cut into 1ft sections.

9mm doesn't have that much powder in the case to begin with . Why don't you try the same test with .357 mag. or .44 ? You might find vastly different results. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Why don't you try a more consistent test medium like ballistic gei ? Please don't bother to respond , I know this a very UNSCIENTIFIC video show. And in closing.... barrel length DOES make a difference both in length and caliber . The amount of difference varies according to the caliber you're using.

357 is definitely an exception since it takes the same 9mm diameter and adds a ton of powder. Behaves like a rifle round in a way. 44 mag has the same diminishing returns with barrel length. Nobody is stopping you from starting the ballistic gei channel, whatever that is.
