Comparison games like this suffer from our subconscious focal point. For example in League of Legends, highly ranked players employ a concept called "mental stacks." These stacks represent the number of elements a player can effectively concentrate on. When additional mental stacks are introduced, gameplay tends to deteriorate until the player can seamlessly integrate them into their subconscious. This gradual process eventually leads to an increase in rank, albeit slowly.
@DaNomster Жыл бұрын
Hey I haven't seen someone bring up mental stacks in gaming before, and I'm really interested! Are there any resources or videos that talk about this concept more? I'm curious if people have determined the average limit of stacks and how long it takes to integrate a concept so it get removed from the stack.
@sheepgrenade6193 Жыл бұрын
There is a wide range of videos available that explain the fundamental concept of the term. Regarding your question about the limit of mental stacks, envision yourself juggling various trains of thought about potential actions your opponents might take while simultaneously executing complex maneuvers or tasks. The overall limit largely relies on how well you have integrated your other concepts into your thinking process. After conducting research on the general number of mental stacks individuals can handle in video games, it appears that there is no definitive answer. The capacity to manage mental stacks varies greatly from person to person and is influenced by factors such as cognitive abilities, experience, and familiarity with the game mechanics. To determine your personal capacity for handling mental stacks in video games and improve in this area, here are a few suggestions: 1. Self-awareness: Pay attention to your current ability to handle multiple tasks or streams of information in games. Reflect on situations where you may have felt overwhelmed or struggled to manage various mental stacks effectively. 2. Practice multitasking: Engage in games that require multitasking and gradually increase the complexity of tasks. This can help improve your ability to manage mental stacks over time. 3. Focus and concentration: Enhance your focus and concentration skills through techniques such as mindfulness or meditation. These practices can help you maintain attention and manage mental stacks more efficiently. 4. Game-specific knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the game mechanics, objectives, and strategies. The more familiar you are with the game, the easier it becomes to integrate various concepts and handle multiple mental stacks. 5. Analyze gameplay footage: Watch recorded gameplay footage, particularly of skilled players, and observe how they handle multiple mental stacks. Look for strategies or techniques they employ to effectively manage information. 6. Seek feedback and learn from others: Connect with experienced gamers or join communities where you can discuss strategies and learn from their experiences. They may provide insights and tips on how to improve your ability to handle mental stacks in video games. Remember that improving multitasking and mental stack management in video games is a gradual process. By being aware of your current abilities, practicing regularly, and seeking opportunities to learn and grow, you can enhance your capacity to handle multiple mental stacks effectively.

Man, this video hits close to home haha I've also been stuck in C2/3 for a few years now. Given up on getting to GC consistently as the rewards aren't any good and to go any higher would mean taking the game alot more seriously, which would ruin the fun for me personally.

Ive never understood why people want to get boosted… whats the point of wanting a title that does nothing if you didnt earn it? I’d get if it changed what you could do in the game…. But if you cant make it to a level… you just dont deserve to be there. A falsely claimed title means literally nothing

I havent watched the video yet, but just want to say, there can be no true experiment done by someone with a vested interest in one outcome over another. You dont charge for coaching, but you are looking to make money through youtube by coaching people and making videos about it. If the outcome reinforces that voaching works, the results cant be trusted
