think of hairloss as a maintaining a bucket of water. That bucket has holes and water is leaking thru them. What minoxidil does simply is to add more water to the bucket to maintain the water level (while water is leaking thru the holes at the same time). What Finasteride does is that it plugs the holes thus preventing leakage. Using Minoxidil alone to combat hairloss will not work overtime based on the analogy above. You need to plug the holes (Finasteride) and then add the water back (Minoxidil) to maintain the water level (your hair volume). Hope this helps.

@@elgringo3105 I was late Norwood III but it was quite far back. In my own personal opinion I think it’s important to start using preventative measures asap- finasteride in combination with minoxidil for two reasons.. 1) exhaust all options prior to surgery 2) maintain the native hair you have - better quality donor area for transplant etc. One the hair is gone it’s gone. The only regret I have is that I didn’t start medication sooner! Personally no side effects at all, the only downside is cost and dependence - don’t hesitate to ask any more questions.

@@thehairyvlogger9673 unfortunately, hairloss is progressive and finasteride wont stop it fully, it just slows it down considerably and even that is a great result if someone is young and prone to hairloss. In this case minoxidil cant help too much either. Maybe use dutasteride? Its more powerful than Finasteride, and if you didnt get any serious sides from Fin, you are unlikely to get it from Dutasteride

its really impossible to say that hair loss is caused by inefficiency. It can be that the hereditary hairloss is more aggressive. In that case, the issue is not with minoxidil, but finasteride. My guess is Finasteride, because at 24 MPB can get really aggressive.

Dude, I like your channel and appreciate you sharing the journey you're on but don't tell people NOT to use minoxidil and to just give up and get a hair transplant. That's just bad advice. You're experience is your own, and that's fantastic. However, you have to keep in mind that you have SEVERE and very early onset hairloss. Others who have lost hair later in life or have lost hair slowly over decades and are now at a Norwood 5 or even 6 should still give it a try don't you think? Heck, I'm 44, was at a Norwood 4.5 and in the past 4 months have made gains by using minoxidil in combo with topical fin and micro-needling. Who's to say another man who's at an even more advanced stage can't see gains on minoxidil (and other interventions if he so chooses)? Again, I appreciate your channel and advice but on this particular point, you couldn't be more wrong.
@so14075
@so14075 3 жыл бұрын
i don't think that was his advice. he's giving his own experience about rogaine and it's effectiveness for him. it's true minoxidil is not a permanent solution and the underlying balding will continue despite it's use. it does nothing re: DHT. it's also true the more hair one has the more effective rogaine would be in maintaining or regrowing. unfortunate for him, his MPB progressed to the point where it doens't seem he was satisfied with how his hair turned out and he got a hair transplant. Some dudes who are NW 4.5 would want more hair regrow than what minoxidil can provide. if dude's who have severe balding are ok with subtle regrowth, then minoxidil would be ok for them, but for those who want something more, it likely will not, and that's this guy's experience.

@@so14075 I kind of disagree with this although he does give his experience he does go on to basically say it works for a short time then you need a hair transplant. That's what i took from it or just go for the hair transplant this stuff works for a short period. I usually like his content but since he went Turkey i think he is very bias towards hair transplants which is totally fine but he doesn't way the pros and cons which i don't agree with. The main thing i didn't like from the video is accountability he doesn't take any for Rogaine not continually working he does state he got lazy with it but then wen back ot it and his his thinned anyway so it seems that why he got a hair transplant anyone who does 10 minutes of studying into this will realise once you stop minoxidil even temporally you cant go back onto it your body basically adapt to it. I don't understand either why he's now back on it for 12 months to then stop it again? Surely that would defeat the objective i mean new or old follicles which require Rogaine ae just gonna fall out and not be able regrow seems odd to me.

I don't really notice the back of my hair thinning as much but it definitely is in front so I'm at the point where I'm going to have to start using rogaine again full time and not stop this time or I'll be completely bald by 38

I admire your patience and commitment to this battle ! Congrats . My concern mainly : is this worth when alopecia is so aggressive ? I mean if dht will end up kill every hair no matter finasteride and minoxidil at the best you will have this 5000 hair from transplant . Which is not enough anyway for covering the entire head . So it’s a battle against a too strong foe . But I hope I’m wrong

Yes, it's wise to use minoxidil while your hairloss is not agressive. For some, hairloss Can be agressive young and in a year, for others it take years (5-10 y) to see Real damages due to hairloss, less dht or scalp less sensitive to the dht, that's why minoxidil Can be enough for some but not for the others.

Man, I just can't bring myself to use finestiride because of the chance of side effects. There is no point to having hair if you develop impotence or any strain on your mental health. I know the statistics are low, but the fact that those side effects even exist is a red flag for me. My plan is to use Minoxidil for as long as it works for me, then when it gets to the stage where the returns have diminished to a point where the gains are reversing, I'll shave my head for good. For now the Minoxidil is keeping my hair in decent shape (I'm 30yo).

As a warning, if you use Regaine not only will you lose the hairs that it helped maintain, if you come off it, but the healthy follicles that come into contact with it will become reliant on Regaine and start shrinking and eventually stop growing hair. Speaking from Experience! I used to dab a bit on a bit of my scalp that had full hair - the right side - now part of that side is oddly thinned out! Imagine a coin sized patch surrounded by full growth - exactly where I was applying. Ppl don't warn you about how it takes away healthy follicles that come into contact with it, if you come off it

You need to wait. 25 is the absolute minimum so they can observe your final hair loss pattern, ideally the later the better. You're too young to rush into surgery. Also most of the clinics in Turkey are hair mills, including the one Amir went too. They took too many grafts from the back of his head which will leave him in a difficult position in the future considering how young he is and how aggressive his hair loss is. The younger you are, the more conservative you need to be. If you're hellbent on going to Turkey, I would look at HLC and Dr. Pekiner. Like I said, there are only a few goods ones there. Check out the hair restoration network forums.

Wait till after 25 the reason is that whatever hair you implant will look great but the rest of your hair that is still there will continue fall out leaving you looking patchy & another costly transplant will be needed for those remaining finning hairs. So wait as much as you can, wear a cap outside or get some hair fibres for the time being.

I strongly believe that you hair loss has not been stopped, reversed or slowed at any point or to any degree and I'm thinking to myself this guy just paid all that money for 5+ years and just basically went on to lose his hair at the same rate he would have had he not done this stuff to it. That said I did watch another video of you putting lots of other things (black powder etc) into your hair to make it look like you have more hair than you do so you may have done that in the previous review video I was referring to but I'm not sure. Anyway as I said earlier please dont take this the wrong way because you seem like such a lovely person and I love how passionate you are about your hair and life in general and I wish you all the very best with your bonnet!

Lol, the treatments he's been using are very inexpensive. Minoxidil is around $20 per month while finasteride is $10 per month. Together, it's likely cheaper than your monthly phone bill.

if it worked you wouldint have gotten a hairtransplant
@David-vn2id
@David-vn2id 3 жыл бұрын
What makes you think your transplant will last. The root cause of your hair loss is your elevated DHT level compromising the hair follicle. You have taxed your liver hard enough that it does not have the ability to filter out your high level testosterone production anymore. There is a way to naturally detox your liver over time where your liver will stop dumping your high testosterone level back into your bloodstream converting it to DHT and effecting your scalp. You seem to be a pretty smart dude who is learning a lot as you go along, but you are destined to acquire full knowledge of your exponential hair loss right about the time you become completely bold. If you don't stop searching for slightly effective band aids, you will arrive at a place where you will learn the root cause just about the time you've lost all your hair for good. Just saying.....

Switching to oral minoxidil was the greatest decision I ever made, low dose (2.5mg) gave me prepubescent levels of density. Been on it for a year, only side I had was dark circles under my eyes, and I’m willing to live with that. I also go to my cardiologist every 6 months to get my heart checked.

@@pabloriel6612 Hey Pablo, For myself, it took 2 months to see amazing results. These results got better for 1 year then very slowly started thinning over the years. Id say after 12 years, I am right back to where I was 12 years ago. Which is why I just added 0.025% topical finasteride to my minoxidil, making my minoxidil now at 3.5%, just simply to keep that drug in my system and at least it is only once a day. Also, After 6 months on min, I switched to just once a day and still saw improvement. Its half life is like 22 hours, so no need twice a week, especially after seeing the results.

3 years in for me treating MPB (solution at the bottom) - Minoxidil works by making hairs thicker and growing a few random stray hairs. The “tiny hairs” do not turn into normal hairs. You will still lose hair , but it is less noticeable because your thousands of other hairs are all slightly thicker. The thicker hairs will gradually become thinner hairs again over time, and your hair will eventually feel very light/thin and fluffy. Due to the fine nature of the hairs they will appear a visually lighter colour which contrasts with the side and back of your head and looks ridiculous. Finasteride - if you’re happy with the risk of giving up your sex life for good then enjoy. Too many reviews out there of people having awful long term issues in that department. Hair transplant - only do if you’re at the end stage, your other hair will keep falling out if you are only on minoxidil - when you call a hair clinic they assume you are a repeat client because repeat procedures are so common and necessary. However due to the amount of hair that will be needed over time it will cause a visual impact on the back of your head. So that when you finally realise your hair would probably look better trimmed to 0-1mm and give in to the baldness, you will have lots of tiny scars, on the back of your head where the transplants were taken from. To counteract this you may be able to tattoo small dots to cover the scars. The solution - use minoxidil to hold on to a visually thicker appearance for as long as you wish to enjoy. When the difference between the sides and top of your head becomes too noticeable, shorten your hair until eventually you embrace the short/trimmed look. Creatine - time to embrace a new look and get muscles. Creatine is said to speed up male pattern baldness if you are susceptible - however once you’ve lost your hair then Creatine is the way to get muscle, quickly and safely (do your own research) then enjoy your new Hollywood Bald Hero Bod. This is the stage I’m in now at 34, when I trimmed my hair off I actually became more confident. Remember if Prince William can’t keep his hair then what hope do you have?
