I’m not giving up on the team itself. Internal development seemed to work for the warriors the past 10 years. Kerr strayed from this the past two seasons, even with the decline of our veterans. Trayce: Took 50 games to realize he needed all the looney and Saric minutes. When he started we became the best defense with him and Dray in the front court. Moody: Still a victim of Kerr philosophy, yet is constantly called upon in big games and shows out with two-way impact, in certain moments looked like the 2nd best scorer in any given game behind Steph or our best perimeter defender. Kuminga: Took 40 games, multiple media outbursts, and Joe Lacob sitting in post-game to receive higher/consistent minutes. Now, we’re wondering if he can be all-star next season. Podz: The one guy Kerr really loved immediately and he showed Swiss Army knife capabilities. He was given the wrong role last year, limiting what he does best but now, as the backup pg that CP upheld last year, he should flourish in his natural role.

Kuminga has no chance to be an all star next season unless he takes one of the biggest leaps out of anybody next season. He's not a good playmaker, lazy defender and can't shoot. On the Wiggins topic, I would think it's best for all parties to trade him. I think it's a downgrade, but getting Bruce Brown from the Raptors on his 1yr contract may help to pay Kuminga and Moody this offseason. It will also allow Andrew to be in his hometown and able to stay near family.

Just subscribed, love this take on how Steph’s Olympics changed not only how we (as fan) evaluate his current level of competitiveness against the best players in the world, but also how THOSE players view HIM. The Serbia game was classic Steph being the best player on the floor and refusing to lose. He played a great early game against France too, and if the last three minutes of the gold medal could have ultimately played out very differently if KD, LeBron, and Booker don’t sell out to get Curry the ball four times in a row. Their deference to Curry and the four shots that he hit could have easily not happened, USA still wins gold, Curry still has the Serbia game as a highlight, LeBron still wins MVP, and we accept this as the curtain call of three legends as we all collectively move on to a new cloud of stars in the NBA. Instead, everyone got to see that Curry still has MVP-level game, and just needs players around him who can play at his level. This Olympic experience of just PRACTICING/PLAYING with Curry in games that matter is going to change how the young wing/guard players on Team USA (Tatum, White, Halliburton, Ant) evaluate their own talent, success, and what it REALLY looks like to be dominant. Especially for ANT, I believe that this experience showed him what level of dedication it takes to truly be great. But say you are one of these young guys next year in the playoffs in an elimination game against the Warriors, down by 3 in the 4th Qtr…he will always hold the mental edge on them. Curry proved that the West could still go through Golden State if they have the personnel to around Curry to compete.

I would love for steph to play his entire career with the warriors. He's also said he would love to do that. I'm just not sure steph truly values loyalty 100% over making a few more deep postseason runs. Based on the movement and construction of this year's roster. Steph is in a position to be an MVP candidate like he always is in the beginning of each season. The key will be sustaining a level of play worthy of it compared to the rest of the league and the fact that they'd like to hand it down to one of the younger players in the NBA. So with that it'll be about winning games and what seeding we get going into this year's playoffs. He can perform at this level for the next two years so with him on this team and his actual willingness to put it all on his back. He's still the CHEF and won't stop cooking for a long time!!!

1:09 I’m really glad you mentioned this point. Because it gives a lot of nuances for the opinion of who you think is the greatest player of all time. I’m one of those really old guys who watched the 1970s basketball. Although no one born after hours will ever say that the 70s players were anything but forgettable, I can argue as certain points of their careers, they had some of the better players that ever played the game. I say that as well because I think Chamberlain is the greatest human who ever played the game of basketball. But I understand the arguments suggesting he wasn’t clutch or didn’t win enough championships. That’s how the game of narrative goes. This is the fund that I’m seeing in various Matter around LeBron James versus Michael Jordan. Jordan would be my number two after Chamberlain, not because of the championships he won, but how he took the festering, stinking, maggot filled corpse of the Washington wizards onto a trajectory to make the playoffs with no other star before he got hurt. Were those years forgettable, those years gave me my most Impressive of Jordan. But the entire league is filled with those small moments, where a particular player at a small moment of time was the best player. Early in the NBA career of Jordan, Sidney Moncrief would literally give him fits, but no one‘s talking about him as a top hundred player much less a goat equal. Penny Hardaway had a couple of years stretch where he was unstoppable. Even with LeBron James, I think his basketball IQ is his greatest trait because skill wise he’s shoulder, shrugging at best

It is so obvious that he is well past his prime it should be barely worth mentioning. That doesn't mean he's suddenly terrible obviously but the last couple of NBA seasons and even the chip winning season in 22 speaks to how inconsistent relatively speaking his game is getting. That bully ball mentality he had going for a season or two is also gone. Defensively he's being hunted more than ever and neither he nor the team seem to have any answers on that front. This is in fact that stage in his career when he and the team should be leaning on fresher younger legs more of the time. Forget a second actual star the the team just desperately needs any measure of actual shot creation alongside him and they absolutely have to prioritise putting a really solid defensive guard alongside him in the back court. If Kerr plays more midget ball again this season Steph will look worse and not better than we are used to.

@@alasdairmacdonald9838 you are right Prime is a hot button word, and it’s not the right term really. What I really mean is can he still be the best player on a championship team. I understand there is no way he can literally be in his prime rn

@@AthleticAlchemy Sure I mean technically he's still talented enough to be the best player on a title winning team. But he would need more help than is realistically possible. There is just no way at 36-37 on this team he can carry things for an entire 82 game season and a playoff run.

So, Lacob's prime duty these days is making sure Steph doesn't go to LA. Sounds about right. Forget Lacob actually trying to find a true number #2 for Steph and giving this roster a chance to compete. It's all about preventing Steph from walking. For what reason, exactly? Making money? Lacob is disgusting. All it will take is Steph to go public and say he wants to be traded. Then what? The wheels come off, that's what. And if Steph lets it be known he prefers LA? Then public pressure will force Lacob to make the deal. That's how the NBA works these days. Do it, Steph. Do it.

All this just means that the Top 50 were true outliers to the rest of the players. LeBron, Carmelo, Dwayne Wade, and all the 2004-7 players are the last of the old heads. So if the players in the 2010's class didn't play the old head figure for the current generation, you should be talkimg to them. I think it's premature because the 2000s extended their carrers more than most players have.

Personally, I can't wait for Steph to get away from Lacob and go to a team actually trying to win basketball games. Is that LA? The Suns? The Thunder? Who knows. Regardless, playing another game in a Warrior uniform is just a massive waste of Curry's time. Free Steph.

Lately I've been worried that he's become the defensive liability people claim he is. He's just too small and now that he's older, it's like they don't even see him there. I'm not sure it'll be fun to watch him being hunted in big playoff games, especially since as you said his endurance might be declining, and his offense and overall game rely on it heavily

No way man. Curry's never been an insane defender, like a lock down 1v1 defender, but he reads the floor, he moves his feet, has active hands and will put his body in front of guards trying to get to the rim. Will he stop like 6'6 Anthony Edwards type of players? Nope. But I wouldn't say he's a liability.

@@berserkmonk5331 I'm not saying he's always been a liability, I think he did his job all these years and people just look for ways to discredit him. It's just that last season and in the Olympics it's like even the nobodies think it's a good idea to just shoot over him, and a lot of the times they are right... Maybe I'm just overreacting and overthinking it, idk

Well of course they're going to shoot over him; they're taller and he's shorter. That doesn't mean he's a liability on defense. @@tiredbasketballfan
@tiredbasketballfan
@tiredbasketballfan 19 күн бұрын
@@doramontano3394 I know, but I'm also talking about players that are not taller, and the fact that in today's game so many players can make a move and are capable of more than just catch and shoot. With his athleticism declining (understandably) and him never having the defensive tools anyway (he made the best of what he had), combined with the average NBA player being better and mismatch hunting as strong as ever if not more, to me it seems he's not been great lately. Maybe if they have a competent team and Draymond actually plays it'll look more like it did in the past. I sure hope so. Maybe what I'm trying to say is that it might be harder than before to build a top 1-3 defense around him like they used to, and then without overwhelming offensive talent (which they are not close to having), they simply won't be good enough.

Warrior fans, why would you want Steph to stay in the Bay when the owner refuses to make a deal? No Siakam; no OG; no PG; no Markkanen. This FO is a joke. Currently, the plan is for Draymond Green to be the starting center and for JK and Podz to start. This season will be a disaster. We all know Steph deserves better. Lebron, AD, & Steph? Yeah, that would be fun (admit it). Imagine the buzz around the NBA. For the good of the game, do the right thing by Curry (for once) and get him out of here. He deserves better than dealing with the infant mind of Joe Lacob and the coaching of "small ball," Steve Kerr.
