Not a 49ers fan but I’d say it would hurt more. 2019 the chiefs were on an offensive roll, that niners roster didn’t have much playoff experience, not many expected them to be that good So the season was great. This season the Niners were the Favorites, this was one of the weaker chiefs seasons since Mahomes took over (which is still a great season but not as good as last year) The Niners have the better roster on paper, are way more experienced than last time, and still couldn’t beat the chiefs.

Facts. Context matters, and knowing that they weren’t able to get to the SB last year bc of Brock being injured. They get to the mission they set out to do, and so much bad luck and missed opportunities arose. Coupled with the fact that they went in the game healthy (until some injuries happened), this one just hurts.

2019 hurt more because we were the last undefeated team that season and everything looked great until the last 8 minutes of the Super Bowl. This one was more stressful since it was close the entire game and we kept having significant injuries. Offense and defense did their part, but special teams really screwed it up and gave the Chiefs an 8 point swing.

Our defense played great, CMAC was great but the fumble in the beginning is a missed 7 points. To say Aiyuk, Kittle, and Deebo were amazing tho is not true. They were invisible basically. Besides Aiyuk later on, our best receiver was Jennings with some help from Conley and Juice.

As a niners fan, hell yeah it hurt more… But to answer the question… it hurts more because SB 54 was like a turning point “seeing the potential that lies with this core of the roster. SB 58 was the realization of that potential (of sorts). Unfortunately, niners didn’t get the job done… the question of “where do the niners go from here?” Is a better question and one that, as a fan, am curious to see how the organization answers during and following into the next season.

Because at that point the Chiefs had nothing to lose if they did go for it and everything to lose if they didn’t. Because the 49ers possessed the ball first, if they went on 4th down and were short, the ball would’ve been around the 30 yard line and an easy field goal for Butker. On 4th down in that situation they would have no choice but to punt and hope the Defense can stop the Chiefs and get the ball back in a sudden death match. On the other hand, because the 49ers were up by 3, the Chiefs not going on it on 4th down was an automatic exit ticket and loss. The Chiefs HAD to score in order to stay in the game or win it altogether.

Decision to take the ball in OT is a non-issue, change one thing... you change everything there-after. Had the niners kicked off in OT, the Chiefs may have ran down the field for 6 +1 with the niners defense just coming off the field tired at the end of regulation play. What stopped a 3 and out on the niners OT drive was a penality, Chiefs D was up on a second wind. Trying to "IF IT" has no more validity than an Oath of Office to a politician

What, the 49ers just lost, could’ve, should’ve. I don’t know how you feel bad knowing someone has to win and someone has to lose. I’ve said this over and over but to beat a team with the likes of Patrick . Your qb, is going to be that guy. The 49ers have had that since Steve Young. One score won’t beat a KC like team with PM at qb.

49ers are becoming a lot like 4 time loser Buffalo. Definitely some sort of curse on that team. This game was a coulda, woulda, shoulda for San Francisco.....so close....so many times just one play. Must really hurt the Fans from the glory days of the 1980's and early 90's. Just a shell of an organization they once were. Sad.
