Next Series Drop: When? These card are not series five tier, we need a huge push of cards from 4 to 5 and 4-3, heck there’s a few that could go straight from 5-3 as far as I’m concerned. The only cards I’m missing are S5, and I can’t think of a one, that would be worth 6k tokens. There’s a few I’d consider if they were 3k though.

Symbiote is so precise and technical to understand. He copies the exact text of the card, so Black Panther will continue to double in power once activated with Symbiote because the card text states "double THIS card" on reveal. Even though the card is Symbiote, it still doubles if Arnim'ed or whatever. Daken/Symbiote on the other hand WILL throw a second shard, but will NOT double in power if you kill that shard because the card is no longer Daken, it is Symbiote! And the text of the SHARD says it will only double Daken. SHEEESH!! And I urge you to actually try Symbiote on Phoenix Force before you start thinking it's the next big thing. I don't think it even works at all like you'd think it should.

something i haven't seen anybody mention is that "Copy its text like it just revealed" doesn't necessarily mean only on-reveals get another ability proc. Symbiote spidey could maybe reset the activate of a card like arana and get you a second useage of her move ability.

My Symbiote deck is: Ravonna, Cassandra, Magik, Thor, Mr Negative, Wong, Symbiote, Iron Man, Black Panther, Foster, Zola, and Taskmaster. I have been having a lot of fun with it, it is super adaptable to whatever you draw into and there are a ton of different lines to win through. Probably some room to refine but I would recommend giving it a try

Was able to play a bit and used Symbiote Spidy in my Spidy move deck in which i would use him on someone like Nightcrawler, Jeff or Captain Marvel (love the Nocturn idea as well. wish i had her!) and i ended up going 8-1 keeping my opponent guessing on where the hell im really going. I might be biased since Spider-Man is my favorite hero of all time but this card is already becoming my most favorite in the game. Gotta be 5 stars for me. Super cool ability, endless strategies, unlimited fun!

My new favorite combo is with Galactus. With just a Hobgoblin and Symbiote Spider-man, you give Galactus 14 power. This can still be improved further with a Goblin and a Selene for 6 more power for an unstoppable win. You can also throw your opponent off by using Magik to make them think they have another turn or by using an alternate combo of Hood, Sentry, and Annihulis for a right location win. Finally, you can add Daredevil to see if your opponent caught on to your combo, so you can just switch to a different location.

*I’ve come across a problem with Symbiote Spider-Man (SSM).* When he merges with the card, he remains as SSM and not the card you merged with. If he merges with Daken, he turns Daken into SSM, so Daken’s Muramasa Shard doesn’t boost him. The same with Beta Ray Bill, his Stormbreaker doesn’t boost him because he’s no longer Beta Ray Bill. I thought it would have worked the same as Hulk Buster. When you merge Hulk Buster with Deadpool, Deadpool doesn’t turn into Hulk Buster. Edit: I just saw Cozy mention about Daken in the video. It’s a shame because if your plan is to boost up Daken, having to merge the SSM into Hulkbuster first is so unlikely and harder to pull off. The way SMM currently works really limits the cards potential. Still a great card, but a simple change would get this card really popping off.

The order matters. Play the card first and then activate if you want to copy the effect of the new card or activate first if you want to copy the effect of a card already there before the new card is revealed.

Don't sleep on Grandmaster for these decks. I was able to cheat a Nico 2x in one game, and Cass Nova in another, each one fired off 5x. I even baited Shang twice, because of Zola. People will adapt quickly but I still like it. Symbiote is going to have a few evergreen combos like Kitty/Angela.

Most of these are confusing... isn't it "lowest cost"? Unless you're playing these cards alone, most of these will have a lower cost in the same location... I get that is still a potential combo, but not as straightforward as it may seem.

What I mean by confusing is not in the "how does this card work" sense, but in the "why were these cards selected by Cozy to be a good fit for SSM". Take Shuri, for example, to use it on her, it means that location doesn't have Armor to protect the card that is being buffed for example. You might do a workaround with something like Caiera, but that means the boosted card will have to be a 1-cost or a 6-cost. 1 costs won't be much powerful, so you're probably going to use the 6-cost, but now between this card, Shuri and SSM you spent half of your turns in only one location. Using it on Loki just increases your deck with the same cards you had, but by spending 4 energy to place SSM. Quake, just places the locations back where they were, again by spending 4 energy. This is what I mean by not being straightforward. Yes, you're getting a reproc on an ability and if you plan correctly, it's the one you want, but you're also spending 4 energy to do it, while only being able to use it the turn after he revealed (also making SSM useless on the last turn). Now, there are some amazing combos here, like the Black Panther or the Doom, no doubt about it. But some of the others need the best case scenario to work, which, as we know, in game is rarely the case.

@@daniel.s.ferreira Not really that much of an issue. Take your Shuri example. It's not necessary to always protect your Shuri lane. Especially as Shuri has low power it's easy to lose prio, which protects your Shuri lane from getting hit by Shang on turn 4 (if you got Shuri out early) or 5. I do agree on some things though like Loki hit is kind of weird since you're almost never going to know that your deck has bad cards or not, it doesn't really do anything for you. If it was old Loki where you could replace your hand and synergize with Collector then it would have been great but yeah, current Loki idk. Quake could be interesting in some cases. Like swapping Deaths Domain once then swapping again to make them play into it when they think they dodged it. Could make some interesting mind games but it's also not something I would build around. Much better cards to hit with Symbiote Spidey. To your point about use cases though it definitely feels like Symbiote is meant to play in a single lane to double up the higher costing cards rather than anything lower. The Surfer idea is cool though. Surfer almost always wants to play late. I found using Odin to play Surfer earlier and dropping him works out a lot better than saving Surfer for turn 6 sometimes too so I could see how the Symbiote setup could work. Though that said I could see a card like Jean Grey, Goose, and Cosmo being able to disrupt Symbiote since the biggest plays with him are likely going to be from on-reveal. Copying an Ongoing isn't that great. Some people thought Symbiote would combine the current power of cards like Darkhawk or Ronin but from personal use I found he actually only copies the base power, not the added power from Ongoing effects. It might count permanent boosts like from Forge though.
