Maybe humanity was always destined to destroy itself. After all, didn’t some famous scientist say, “You will live to see man-made horrors beyond your comprehension”? Well, the folks in the early 21st century could never have predicted the horrors that would unfold over the next four decades. Yes, they knew about climate change and nuclear weapons, but never did they think they would harm the planet so badly that it became completely unrecognizable. Humanity never settled on Mars, but they did manage to make Earth a more inhospitable place than the red planet. You can’t even go outside anymore without a heavy-duty spacesuit, and the only safe place to be without one is in heavily shielded and fortified bunkers deep underground. Yet here, in the nightmare that is the year 2672, we are still the same dumb primates we have always been. We will always be expansionist, distrusting of strangers, and greedy for resources. And we didn’t have long enough to evolve out of those traits before we destroyed ourselves. So here I sit, with no company but my banjo, which I can only hear through the vibrations against my spacesuit, while I keep watch over what used to be a place called “Nashville,” just in case the raiders are trying to make a move against our camp again.

We're getting it right this time though brother. It is a fact. We're just trapped inside the learning curve at the mo. Once we break out, it'll be straight back to evolutionary progress. Just like all the times before to get us here.

entry 167 - july (?) Still no word from the mission...beginning to wonder about the Rebels' whereabouts and whether to hide my own. As Rushad said once, the best spaceships are made of wood. If I'm bein honest I don't know how this ol banjo can get me outta the wastelands, or bring back the days before the sunlight was but a meager glow behind the toxic clouds and the soil weren't poisoned beyond repair...but she's all I got and I'm mighty glad to have her. The glimmering notes that drift along these radioactive winds are all I have to remind me of the stars, after all. One early morning not long before the Great Rebellion, Rushad and his cello-like spaceship flew back through a wormhole to Sneth, of which he served as an ambassador. His parting words to me were some ramblings along the lines of "gippley gippley gaek you waek", and now I know I shoulda heeded his warning. But what's a stranded banjo player to do?

Oooo here is another fun idea for banjo music. why not one that is banjo space mining style? ^w^ that could be fun
@SpaceBanjoMusic4 ай бұрын
Mining style. What exactly do you mean? I like the idea.👍
@whitedragon12044 ай бұрын
@@SpaceBanjoMusic Well when it comes to mining there are hard single notes and a rhythm pattern. like when you mine in a cave. The sound of steam in the distance with maybe rail cars rolling by while banjo music plays could be fun. ^^ like "steamworld" games.

Thinking back on my life, the times with friends at the Starlight Bar, Ladies of the night at the off planet truck stop, gross meals made from recycled human waste brings to where I'm at now. Boy of boy do I miss those times. This little wasteland I'm calling home, some might call it by its given name Andromeda. Ha! to think the name actually came from Greek mythology. Andromeda was the beautiful daughter of King Cepheus and Queen Cassiope. Far from beautiful now with all the destruction from the New Roman Galactic war. Who would have thought that a little out post that mines ore for fusion generators would have ever been on anyone's wish list for war. Oh well, back to strumming this old banjo and hope my supplies can last long enough until the next supply ship arrives to get me off this hunk of crap outpost.
