The Book is titled 'Does the Bible Support Same Sex Marriage?" The book has 21 different questions and arguments that are usually used to support same sex marriage. He dives into each one of these arguments in his book. Some are scholarly arguments that take different interpretations of Scripture to claim that same sex marriage is okay according to the Bible. If you don't want to dive into these arguments, this book is not for you. Sprinkle though is non-affirming and supports a traditional marriage ethic.

@@gingy23ben5 I'm thinking out loud a bit here, just trying to find my way... but I'm starting to think that "traditional marriage ethic" is like a trojan horse that side-b Christians and those who support them use to wedge their way into conservative/non-progressive churches. IMO as soon as you affirm the use of the term "gay-christian" you no longer hold a "traditional sexual ethic." There is way too much nuance and redefining of terms going on. This ait traditional in any sense.

Em no because marriage is there to provide a stable family for children which isn’t possible in same sex marriages without an other person being involved: the legalization of same sex couples is to do with tax & inheritance and legal rights when that long term relationship comes to an end. Legal stuff is different from religion but often those lines get crossed.

9 minutes of watching/listening and up to 43 minutes of scanning the transcript and I still haven't seen a full statement of his views on the topic. There is no such thing as same sex marriage. Marriage is between 1 man/1 woman. All the letters in the Alphabet Flag are sin. ALL of them. That's laid out in Genesis, not just 6 "clobber passages." Jesus upheld Genesis, therefore he did address homosexuality. It doesn't matter when the term "homosexuality" was coined. The concept has always been there. And the Bible always calls it sin. See how easy that was? Good grief.

This is a partial overview of his book, which is explained to the listener in the first 30 seconds. Not sure why you're looking for a "statement of my views" in a book overview. But he does lay out in the beginning section of the video his view of Biblical marriage, that it is between one man and one woman. And he gives a rather robust support for that, then briefly addresses common objections to that. Not sure what is missing here?

Fun fact - the Bible doesn't know about a ceremony called marriage. Plus - Christians need only follow the noahide laws. Rest of the 613 laws of the OT are irrelevant for us. Just in case you wanted to follow up with "but homosexuality is forbidden". Nope, it's not. The only thing forbidden is infidelity. There are no other laws concerning "moral sexual behavior" that apply to Christians and are mentioned anywhere. But some preachers might lie to you and tell you things that aren't even in the Bible are supposedly "clear" or "biblical" while they are absolutely not. Like the unbiblical idea that there is a distinction between "moral" and "ceremonial" laws and all the other tricks evangelicals use to make you buy into their heresy. Basically current evangelicals aren't even Christians in my opinion. They are an old-testament "pseudo Israelite" sect that follows a few Bible verses they pick and choose over others because they fit their Authoritarian right-wing worldview. But most of them have nothing to do with Christianity at all, let alone with anything Jesus taught. I sure hope they'll wake up one day from their wrong ways before it's too late but I have my doubts. They probably will not stop until they have destroyed the authentic Christian faith in the US to sell out to money and power. Fooled by the delusion that Christians are called to enforce their beliefs on everybody else in society, Christian or not. Another unbiblical idea of course. But at least they're not alone. Churches all over the world stand on the wrong side of history. It's almost expected at this point. Misinformation, misinterpretation, picking and choosing, searching for wrong teachers that "tickle the ears" and tell people what they wanna hear so they can fuel their unchristian rage and become instruments of oppression, distorting the message about the "truth that will set us free". How well Jesus has prophesied of these people. The pharisees of today who want to put heavy burdens on people's shoulders that they themselves don't even wanna lift with one finger. Like the all too familiar scandals of evangelical preachers in the US prove.

This at best was unusual!! It would be difficult to think of Jewish's individuals thinking or acting in some of the ways being propagated here., particularly when dealing with the propagators of the law. The actions of the prophets of the past gives clear indication of their thoughts and inner perceptions of the time.. Jews and Jewish customs are not western by foundation so it seams reasonable to conclude thinking and processing would be different and vary from a western view of life in general.. For example some people have a problem with a literal demon or a literal devil or angel or messenger from god, or spirit beings or hell or the virgin birth.... Lochness Scottish Highlands..

@@DrDoerk (because someone who struggles in this area are called to be single) Not everyone. This is a sin that needs to be repented of. There are people who have done that and eventually gotten married, had children. The problem is that we now see this as something you ARE, instead of something you DO. But we don't do that even with other sexual sins! We don't say, "Your identity is an adulterer." We say, "Adultery is sin. Repent of your sin of adultery." We don't say, "Your identity is a fornicator." We say, "Fornication is sin. Repent your sin of fornication." We don't say, "Your identity is a prostitute." We say, "Prostitution is a sin. Repent of your sin of prostitution." Do you see the difference? Christ sets people FREE. That's why 1 Corinthians 6 says, "such WERE some of you." (Emphasis, mine.) It lists all kinds of sins there, sexual and non sexual. Am I saying people don't still struggle with the temptations? Of course not. We ALL have sins we struggle with, and on different levels. But this is the only sin I know where the sin itself is called someone's identity - as though it's something they just ARE, and can never escape. How discouraging is that? That is not the biblical message! You are not your sin!
