7:40 something I would like to point out is that the chest missiles and front skirt gimmicks are actually Katoki’s idea, the original Nu Gundam HWS only came with shoulder missiles. The front skirts are only armor with no sub arms. The chest might look openable but actually those are just panel lines and it’s instead housing 2 i field generators. But in setting the HWS only exist in concept form so any ideas would be cannon in someway. The original Nu HWS is also planned to have a full psychoframe inner frame which is where Katoki got the idea for the MG.

2nd, the HWS on the Nu never did anything for me. master or HG... but I do love the higher MG LIKE detail on the 1/144.. I'm MG guy but with some of the newer HG (better details) and more stable RGs, I have been dabbling in the 1/144 sizes more.. thanks for the video... glad to see you getting back to being more active.

tbh.. its fairly standard for a upgraded Version of a HG to come with(mostly) all the parts to make the normal version... looking at Almost all the build fighters and Divers kit or the Variants of the 00 HG(seven swords has the normal GN Sword II blades, and the kneepads, Raiser condenser type has the normal GN cones etc)

I personally disagree. The hg is indeed a very solid kit and the little we have seen of the rg is quite underwhelming, but I'll still take the rg detail and construction over the hg's anime accuracy and "great for the time" articulation. They did make a masterpiece when they designed sazabi and nu will not be on that level, but to me saying that the hguc is a better kit before even getting to see a review looks more like nostalgia goggles than fair criticism to me. Also that pbandai double fin version is just a rip off at this point, why couldn't they do a fin funnel pack like they did for the mg?

I feel like a lot of the opening panels and sub-arms on the MG ver Ka. version of the HWS were, like the Psychoframe panels, unique to the Ver Ka. I've been a fan of the HWS for years, ever since I got ahold of the old MSiA almost 2 decades ago, and I never knew those were even a thing

Somehow this video popped up in my recommendations again, and oh boy.... with the upcoming release of the P-Bandai RG Nu Gundam HWS kit which from the preview images is looking AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL, the HG Nu HWS is now so outclassed that I feel sorry for it.

The RG Nu is technically a downscaled Ver. Ka. At least in appearance. ...It won't replace my robot damashii tho. edit: 5:05 the 'boosters' on the shields are beam cannons.

I've always loved high grade kits because they are the most easy to customize and kitbash in comparison to the more expensive or more detailed, and in real grades case more fragile kits, love the detail on the real grades but I also love to at times mess around with my action figures more and real grades even the more durable ones recently, wear out far too quickly and even if High grades do eventually wear out you can either replace their parts or repair them more easily than most others.

So long ago but the stuff you pointed out aren’t supposed to be on HWS. It’s not cannon to the lore. Only the ver ka version which is just a design choice later on. This is the original HWS not the new one with the gimmicks.

I owned a couple of the MSiA!! Nu Gundams and they all suffered from the same problem- antenna breakage. I dunno if it was just my figures being abused behind my back, but one day I'd look at my Nu and I'd see an antenna gone... and then the next day another gone. Replaced the head, and a while later another antenna broke. No freaking clue as to why it was happening. I wasn't particularly rough with my figures.

For me, I am hyped for the RG V. I got the ver ka of V and Sazabi and they are some of my favorite kits so essentially having those kits in mini format is not a problem with me. I do enjoy the HG's for the fact that they are a better representation to the animation model. I have the HG V and will get the HG Sazabi at some point. I also may consider the old MGs for the same anime accuracy reasons in 1/100 scale. While I am not a fan of V's HWS look, I do like the Hi-V's HWS look so when I get that kit, I will have to try to track down on of those kits whatever the cost.

I picked up the HWS HG Nu Gundam and skipped the normal version of the Nu Gundam because it included all the parts to make either and at the time was only $5 more. I ended up not liking the look so I've kept it displayed without the extra armor but now that the RG is coming out I'll stick the parts back on (except those front skirts I hate them).

so many complain... but i can answer you with 2 letters HG the whole point of all HG is their half ass implementations, crappy stickers, bad colour separations, and part-forming gimmicks, leaving you unsatisfied, so that you will get a more expensive kits such as MG or RG

I have both MG Ver.Ka of the RX-93 and gotta say... RG looks SO DOPE. I mean, I don't care about having a million and a half versions of the Nu Gundam... we already have even more of the granddaddy Gundam... why wouldn't I, as a proud papa, want a new and different version of my baby boi in RG style? MG Sazabi Ver. Ka is stupidly expensive to me... but when the RG came out I was happy to be able to build it in a smaller scale. Now I can have my dream diorama of Sazabi and Nu fighting like in the movie and I'm about to cheersplode. I personally gonna be happy to throw my money to Baindai's face when RG Nu comes out. PS: I've always hated how HWS looked, so not having it is good for me and also don't care about double fin funnel

Ok I'm going to be ex-TREAMLY BLUNT right now. I fuck'n love this gundam. Mind you I have only seen the kit, and small clips of Chars Counter attack so I don't know much of it. But what I DO KNOW made me fall in love with it. For one thing, as odd as it might sound, it's not that big of a visual overhaul. What the Nu-Gundam is, is a bigger, faster, and more advanced RX-72. It's general look is redesigned yes but in general it's still the grand daddy gundam at heart. Now though...ITS GOT FUCKING FUNNELS!!! And I love it! It's also very simple color wise sticking with mostly white and a black middle with small bits of red and yellow. It's elegant without being completely over the top minus the funnel wing. Plus that V fin yo.

The opening of leg thrusters and the sub-arms are actually exclusive features of Ver, KA HWS Hi Nu Gundam. First introduced in 2014. They are not canon features of the HWS. Btw, the cylinders in the additional shield are beam cannons. They only become boosters in the Ver. KA setting.

hate to say it but the hg and the mg nu gundamare just so bare the ver ka kit adds so much depth and detail that's needed to this kit. the Rg version is going to blow the hg and the hg hws out of the water and being that its the Nu gundam and its super popular in japan and a awhole I bet you will see a rg hws and effect part for the funnels

The HG Nu Gundam is such a fun build. Makes me lean towards the HG metallic coating over the RG so I can avoid water decaling it and save that energy to water slide the RG Hi-NU. I get waterslides when available but think metal nu would look better without them

They are not hard to build. RG are like small versions of MG line. Bandai made sure that, the manuals are sectioned by the individual body parts of the kit. Don’t get discouraged by, thinking they are like MG complex. The manuals in the RG line are better laid out, that the other Grades.

The HWS looks like a BAD knockoff of the armored up Gundam NT1. (And I mean the ol' skool HG, *before* the advent of HGUC and its ilk) A shame, actually: the Hyper Megalauncher looks like trash compared to any iteration of the Zeta Gundam's version, the added side panels look like they ARE KOs of the Zeta's outer calf panels...that thing is just *bad* all around, it seems.

I've bought 2 of them(the HWS kit). And you can put 2 thrusters on 1 legs. which is making it more THICCer. And double the fin funnel, shield and the HWS rifle. And it looks very, very big! I'm hoping that bandai releasing the RG HWS parts (of course it's gonna be P-bandai), and make it compatible to put double thrusters on 1 leg.
