PS. The Slave Wraith is absolutely 100% a Gundam. It's a ground gundam with the prototype armor that is later seen on the GM striker. And they are the same colors because they are part of the same unit, the "Slave Wraiths".

I really enjoy my ground type gundam and wanted more however I've yet to find more of them...so I just pre-ordered the slave wraith to add to my collection. I am envious that you get the p-bandai kits sooo early compared to the rest of us but I do understand and am grateful that you show us so we can decide if we want to spend the cash on them or not. As far as the Universal Century is concerned; 1. A “Gundam” needs to have armor entirely composed of Luna Titanium (called “Gundarium” later on). 2. It needs to be intended for use by the Earth Federation, or a splinter/“independent” unit like Londo Bell [they’ve of course been stolen before, like the GP02 Physalis]. 3. It needs to have a V-Fin. That’s about it.

@@thebokchoy6854 Some will consider certain MS like the Ez8 to be exceptions (especially since it's directly *_called_* a "Gundam" within the source material). ^ I personally consider it one of the few "Production" Gundams (an obvious distinction from generic mass-production mobile suits; their production is very limited) because it's a modified _Gundam Ground Type_ ...which itself only has Luna Titanium armor in key areas, rather than the entire frame.

@@whiteraven1992 Fair enough, on that note there is the RX-79 GS Gundam Ground type S, which is basically a GM with a Gundam Head, albeit remodeled for ground combat. Despite that, at least by the wiki, it's still called a Gundam, unlike something like the Striker Custom which is essentially also a Gundam Head and is mostly just called that even. In Bandit Flower Bianca Carlyle probably said it best when she said the value of the Gundam has gone down.

people do conflate stated gundams and mobile suits that are just made from the same metal a fair bit or have similar performance or equipment. you'll find most gundams have a chin piece often red, and the v fin or something similar. only mono eye gundams are non cannon as well. one of the main influences for gundams are edo period samurai armor, if they don't have a head that isn't at least loosely based on a kabuto (helmet) then theirs a good chance it's just got similar performance and might be made from gundarium. this is just uc, all the different timelines have different logic for their gundams. an i'm not really all that versed in it anyway.

A Gundam is a Gundam when Bandai says it is a Gundam, which means that if a suit has a V-fin, it doesnt always mean its a Gundam. Its only a Gundam if it has the name Gundam on it. GMs with the head of what looks like a Gundam are still GMs and Gundams with heads that dont have V-fins are still Gundams. However, the Blue Destiny Units and the Slave Wraith, all 4 suits made by converting Ground Type Gundams, do not have Gundam on their name, but they are specifically made from a Gundam, so in this case its not so clear but it is safe to say they are Gundams. In IBO, it is very clear what are Gundams, which are the 72 units with a Gundam Frame. In Gundam X, 00, Wing, and G are clear on what Gundams are. However, Seed, G-reco, Turn A, and UC are inconsistent and terrible at telling apart what are and arent Gundams.

I'm pretty sure I could be wrong but I think what makes a Gundam a Gundam would be the materials its made of, the machinery inside like the generator type/output, FCS, servo motor control, and of course that head with the V fin.

16:59 actually with how the HG ground gundam kits are made now, the neck and shoulder poly caps are replaced with plastic. In fact the poly caps for them are among the extra parts left over when you're finished. As far as the torso, i don't particularly like how that was engineered it just feels less secure than with other HGs i've put together, but that's the only personal gripe i've got about the ground gundam kit.

@@dancingpony69 oh no i didn't have that issue. It stay on but it doesn't FEEL secure. Especially with the lower torso piece which is just a loose piece of plastic held captive by the assembly. It definitely wasn't what i'm used to and that one ball was the only point of attachment. it would have made more sense to have a ball joint in the back and the front and back torso pieces sandwich it in place so that it would feel more secure.

I actually bought the Slave Wraith the other day, along with the normal Pixie/Pixy & Efreet Doug Schneid cos all 3 MS are in Battle Operation 2. I might get the other Slave squad guys another time. The latter 2 are monsters with their melee attacks (As is the Gyan but he only pokes to balance out his ridiculous strength) but the Slave Wraith is often never used by players as many other MS do his job better, such as the Gundam Ground Type. The only unique thing about the SW is the Fake Beacon ability which makes it appear as an aly on enemy radar but only within a certain distance. Attacking disables the effect. Only one other MS has this ability, that being the GM Camouf who plays like a Zudah.

Feel like the Slaive Wraith isn't a gundam despite being a custom Ground Gundam, just becuase he doesn't have that v-fin. An this describes the Moon Gundam as well as that has a base body of a Varguil but has a gundam type head and thus said to be a Gundam. If you count Slaive Wraith as a gundam, then technically the Moon Gundam isn't a gundam.

Kinda wish the Pixie/Pixy had pink blades instead of red. No spare Bullpup MG either cos that's what my Pixie has equipped in GBO2 since the dual Uzis drink through ammo, do barely any damage and take ages to reload. The Pixie's a stealthy hit-and-run melee MS so sticking around to shoot an enemy is a bad idea. As is shooting them as you approach as that reveals your presence and thus removes the element of surprise.
