I had issues with my trem but I was dropping the tuning super low - drop A, and wasn't staying in tune, was professionally setup for drop a with nut carved, but it wouldnt hold tuning after dive bombs, so I put in a Wilkinson/Gotoh VS-100N Tremolo replacement trem and it is now the most solid in=tune guitar next to my evertune, no hyperbole. Side note my AZ when it was in E Flat tuning, the t1502 stayed in tune 99% of the time, I would only struggle with the hated g string, but it wasn't always out of tune, only after a few full songs my g would be a little flat.

Same here, this is the only "non lockable" tremolo except the trem om the PRS SE Standard I have ever tried that held it's tuning after moderate abuse on the trem-arm. Most other guitars will not hold it's tuning this good after even lightly used trem-action. For this kind of abuse you almost always have to go for the lockable Floyd/Edge trem-systems. Amazing!

The best "non lockable" tremolo I have ever tried was the trem on the PRS SE Standard, that is why I bought it. To be able to tune the guitar easy to different tunings but still be able to use some easy to moderate trem-arm use. On my Squier Classic Vibe 70s that is not doable at all, even at very light use of the tremolo the guitar goes waaaay out of tune, but on the PRS SE Standard I can use it much, muchj more with the guitar still staying in 99% of the tuning. For trem abuse I have got the Jackson SDXMN Adrian Smith signature guitar which has the Floyd Rose lockable trem on it, but to tune that guitar to another, lower tuning is a hassle. It tried a trem system like this on the "Ibanez THBB10 Tim Henson Signature" I think it was the T1502 on that guitar as well, but I could not find any Gotoh branding on it, just said Ibanez but it is probably built by Gotoh. That Tim Henson guitar was not setup at all and it held it's tuning pretty good. I guess this tremolo is one of the best non lockable just like my PRS SE Standard then ? My next guitar will probably be the Ibanez JIVA JR Nita Strauss Signature, I just love those Ibanez S/SA guitars, so thin and light, awesome to play, and that guitar also looks amazing. After you add some Dimarzio pickups on that guitar it is basically the same guitar as the much more expensive JIVA 10 guitar that has her Dimarzio Pandemonium pickups that sounds great for rock - metal and looks awesome on a darker guitar.

I’ve got two AZ’s. Indonesian HSS and Martin Miller AZ. Both stays in tune no matter the abuse. Key for me is stretching the strings and tuning from below the tune up to pitch. Also when I tune the guitar I Flutter the trem to get it into neutral. Never an issue, but then none of my guitars ever have issues. Apart from setup issues it’s usually user error (apologies, not trying to offend anyone).
