@@deenanthekemoni5567-They recently sent me a letter for ID verification, but check out: when you jump thru all the hoops of trying to verify your ID, it disallows you uploading the required docs and you can't reach anyone at the number they gave you to call. So essentially, I might not ever get my refund back.

It’s been 126 days since they ACCEPTED my tax return. I’m struggling to pay the bills and I have credit card debt. I know it’s irresponsible but with my tax return I could’ve paid off the debt. Now they interest on the card is out of control. Because they haven’t paid me, I owe 3 times what they owe me. And they want to give me a measly 4% for waiting this long. It’s shameful.

I filed in February and recently checked my transcripts. There's been no update since March. Under interest paid it says zero. I feel like if enough of us get together and march then they might call in the national guard to sort through all of these returns, but until then we wait.

I have adopted kids. They requested proof that they are my kids. I sent it all, then they tell me they will review Aug 5th which has come and gone. This held up my child tax credit, EIC, everything. I filed the day Electronic Filing opened up. This is substantially longer than 45 days. This is absolutely crazy! What do you do when they say your kids aren't yours, you prove they are. Is this even for real???

Here's my question, When does the clock start of when the time frame is to process your check? Example, I mailed in my refund on the 1st of March. Does this apply as soon as they (IRS) open and start the actual process, or soon as its dropped in the mail and the item is postdated?

If your due a refund, interest starts from the deadline date until they drop it in the mail and postdated. But, if you file your return past the deadline, interest starts from that date and not 4/15. Also, the IRS has two ways to scramble out of paying taxpayers interest: (1) They can go back 30 days from when they put the check in the mail and claim that is when they payed you (2) If they pay you within 45 days from when you filed, they owe you no interest.
