Hi guys. I was a chef and i would like to say a couple of things. First, Kara. A friendly tip. Watch how Jared holds the carrot with vertical fingers and slides the knife down the back of them. He can't cut himself like that. The way you hold the carrot with horizontal fingers is going to get you cut the day you don't pay attention. (Seen it happen often). Second. Any knife with a hole in the blade is going to be a nest for bacteria unless cleaned meticulously after every use and any folding knife is going to be difficult to clean. Just thought it was worthwhile mentioning this aspect. Yes, i know you said it was an edc and you were testing because of the name. So i understand the vid, which i enjoyed as always. Good health and stay safe.
@rhino54195 жыл бұрын
Ok. So Jared does it too later on. We always cut away from ourselves in edc, bushcraft etc. Yet not always in the kitchen. Sorry, not a rant. Just friendly tips from someone Who has seen too many kitchen accidents.
@jacopieterse43255 жыл бұрын
Nor forgetting the index finger on the spine. Thats a big no no.
@NeevesKnives5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I was have the hardest time cutting at that camera angle. Sometimes doing things on camera is hard because your trying to position yourself in a way where the viewers can see, now that doesn’t have much to do with what I did there in the video, so thanks for the reminder, I didn’t know you were a chef! That’s awesome! I’ve been so awkward with knives in the kitchen my whole life, I think my left handedness has always made me awkward, cause it’s like I want to use the knife with my left hand, but I also want to hold the food with my left hand. I’m weird 😅

Guys did you say not stainless, its highly corrosive resistant, not sure what the difference is. Maybe you can help me out there. Cheers,,
@NeevesKnives5 жыл бұрын
So the word stainless means that it will literally stain LESS. stainless materials still have the ability to stain, they’re just less likely to do so. In the instance of this knife it is highly corrosive resistant LC200n steel, it is supposed to be rust proof! (So better than stainless) does that answer your question?
@mmikee4072 жыл бұрын
Disclaimer: no carrots, apples or celery were hurt producing that video 😂😂😂. Sadly few ounces of cheese has to be hurt during the course of the video.

@stephenstruman72354 жыл бұрын
When you wash yours do you wash inside the pivot and if you do do you dry it off inside the pivot? I’ve had mine for a week and it’s rusted inside and it does have the ceramic detention ball. I don’t know if mine is a fake or maybe something went wrong with production of the steel. Any information on this would help.

As a chef I always find that its not the the food that dulls the blade but rather constant banging against the board. But then you can bring it right back with A ceramic rod or something
@NeevesKnives5 жыл бұрын
Cool your a chef too? Awesome! Can you explain to me why putting your index on the stock is not a good idea? I’ve never heard that one before and I’m curious!
@NeevesKnives5 жыл бұрын
I guess I understand why for a chef knife, but I guess I didn’t realize that with a pocket knife & a thicker blade stock that it would be different? Yeah I’m no where near a professional chef if you can’t tell 😂😂
@jacopieterse43255 жыл бұрын
Putting your index finger on top of the blade creates a centre of balance which easily tips toward one side. Watch a few vids on basic knife skills and I’m sure someone will explain it. You guys did great tho, we get culinary students from chef school you cant even peel a potato 🤣🤣🤣
@NeevesKnives5 жыл бұрын
Lol thanks. It’s funny cause I just asked Jerad and he said the same thing about the balance. I never thought about it like that. I have always had a hard time with kitchen specific cutting because I’m actually not sure what my dominant hand is. I do some stuff like writing lefty but other stuff righty. I want to cut lefty AND hold the food lefty as well. I always feel so uncomfortable doing it!

Keep up the videos they are fun to watch and get to learn a little also. Does the extra strikers fit in with the matches??
@NeevesKnives5 жыл бұрын
This was a knife that was borrowed to us for the purpose of a review. we don’t typically post on discontinued knives unless they are available in some capacity. You won’t see that from us in general, it really was meant to just be a fun video to see how well it did in the kitchen since it’s name is chef. That’s why we didn’t want to sit down and do a hugely in depth review. Thanks for sharing your opinion with us, we really appreciate it, and we really value our viewers opinions 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
