Weird I just drove from Dallas to Santa Fe nex Mexico on the highway at 78 mph and got 14.4 on cruise control.

That's not weird at all. You were going a lot faster and at higher elevations with more elevation gain etc. That's an expected number in your situation.

How did you mount your scan guage? Like how it's out of the way but still easily visible. also awesome mpg numbers. When mine was stock I'd easily see 17 to 19 highway. Now with 35s I'm around 15 to 16 but still not bad as I have other accessories and my truck is a good bit heavier than a stock tundra. What more can you expect from a truck with a 6 speed, 4.30 rear end and mutli port injection. Of course it's gonna use more gas but it's a reliable beast.

The Velcro strips provided with the scan gauge. They stay well and can be removed if needed without issue from my experience.

What motor 5.7 or 4.6. Clean oil, tire pressure, clean air filter, and light on the throttle bring better MPG

Put 430 rear gears in your other half ton trucks see what fuel mileage you get. Tundra is made for work. I love my 08 tundra.

You need to go old school! Do the actual math. Fill up, take a trip, refill. Divide miles traveled by gallons to refill. I will guarantee you will get lower milage then scangauge is telling you
@avpr1c3 жыл бұрын
Does the gas station fill up align with these figures? That’s the real test. My 2020 hit 19mpg per the dash on a 400 mile trip but the fuel pump figure was 17mpg

@@pryme2013 5.7? What rear end? The problem with mileage comparisons is there are 10k variables. You’re driving 70 on a flat highway, possibly at high altitude... in Ky, that’s not reality, neither is doing 70, youll flat out get run over by semi’s on I65... I’m lucky to get 14mpg.

@@pryme2013 mine is a ‘21 pro, crew max, have 285/70-18 Ridge Grapplers on it now but it didn’t do any better with the stock Michelin’s. My ‘19 Pro did a bit better but it had about 50k miles on it by the time I traded it and I had tuned it as well. Hoping this one improves some but I’m not too concerned with that as you stated. I wish I had flat highways and could get away with driving 70, that would help!
