Steve, I’ve been following you for about three years now and you’ve had many good drills and tips. But this video has been a true Eureka moment. After watching it, I went out to the range and started off executing the shot to come in my practice swing just like you said. What a difference! Previously, I would just swing the club back and forth in a just getting loose type of movement but with no real purpose. Now, that I’ve experienced this, I just want to say thank you. I remember not too long ago, you were down and almost out wanting to quit the channel. I’m really glad you hung in there lad. Good job!

The one thing I've noticed in my practice swing is that I don't try to touch the ground. Mentally aware of that now and deliberately trying to either take a small divot or brush the grass. Gives me a feel of where my low point is for each club and my bull strike is a bit cleaner

@@FlankerJackChannel my game is much better too when I do that. When I muck up I do that on the practice swing and then for some godforsaken reason decide to change my mind on the swing mid way through. Why why why!! 😂

@@FlankerJackChannel I’ve learned to forget mechanics. You have no need for mechanics when hammering in a nail. If someone put a ball on the ground and gave you a club and said hit the back of that ball like you were hammering a nail you’d smash it 😁

I use stevies wake up technique all the time now. It's really sorted out my putting and I'm now so consistent. Just need to sort out the rest of my game now 😂😂😂

How true Steve,I`m a shocker for doing this, Left with a super long putt I will have a couple of practice strokes saying,i`ts uphill and the Greens are wet,be up.Come the actual putt a memory of how fast the Greens were last week pops into my mind and my putt gets halfway leaving at least 2 putts to hole out.That negates that great drive I fluked

That’s a mistake I make. I rehearse my swing 1 or 3 times, then I swing half the amount I rehearse and it’s always short 😮. Great video.

Sort of related to hitting a shocker and then chuck a ball down and brilliant - how many times have you heard/said if only that was my shot or that's what I should have done! There is an added pressure of the ball being there and the ball in play.

Totally agree 👍🏻 … practice swing should mirror the actual swing. BUT … I can’t tell you how many times I practice a chip or short pitch around the green just fine, and catch a little turf, ground first, or a little grass when I actually execute the shot 🙄 … with the exact same stroke! Do you know why? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Is it because the grass, the lie, even the turf the ball is sitting on just slightly different than that where you take your practice stroke, even right next to the ball? … Or is there some other reason? So frustrating 😡 A friend of mine (who’s an excellent chipper) once told me, ☝🏻“Focus on the FRONT of the Ball” … Try it. It works 👍🏻 Good stuff (as always), Steve 👊🏻
