I have a 2021 300 SEF Factory. Great bike but the stock KYBs forks are harsh and very deflective, shocks much more compliant. Tried pretty much every clicker combination, speeding up the rebound a few clicks helped the most. just sent them off to Johnny at the Ride Shop to work his magic.

My Sherco dealer told me the forks needs a good 10h ride to « break in » …and he was right. Keep on riding with it and enjoy! Great. Job, best job in the world.

Always enjoy your riding videos. Just amazing to me that with all the hours you post on video I never seem to see anybody else riding the same trail. With those dropoffs an encounter with someone coming the other way would be terrifying.

I just got a '23 Sherco 250se factory. VERY good suspension!!! I'm 190lbs and feel it's perfect. Maybe a bit stiff for very slow technical riding but I see no reason for a revalve. It's an incredible bike!
@erikk.24352 жыл бұрын
The Zeta open pistons really make those KYB closed cartridge folks more plush.

I have a 300 2t factory. I was told by a pro rider to turn clickers to stiffen and it would feel more plush🤔 and it worked for me just saying.
@ChookChasersMX2 жыл бұрын
If it feels too stiff you might be too low in the stroke due to you having taken the clickers all the way out. Try adding some clicks to keep it higher up, or alternatively try loosening off the rebound to get the suspension to move more as the rebound also works like a bleed.
@rafy6002 жыл бұрын
Exactly going softer on compression is making the forks loose the initial plushnes and riding on the mid of the stroke wich is more stiff. I always go to the rebound first works for me 👌
@peterjennen992 жыл бұрын
Jayden- Those are good points. Also, lowering the front tire pressure, say to 10 lbs, would help with deflection problems on the trail. But really, the problem is the high speed damping is too stiff. Turning the compression clickers out just makes the front end wallow and be vague. The low speed clickers control how the bike holds the sag position. That bike needs a re-valve.
@ChookChasersMX2 жыл бұрын
@@peterjennen99 - Yes I would agree for his type of riding, but in the mean time, adjusting the clickers as suggested might be worth trying.

Worth noting, he’s riding the factory race edition, not the standard model. Race bike is gonna be set up stiffer…
@ChookChasersMX2 жыл бұрын
@@OffRoadingSteve yes that is true. I own the same bike but don’t use it for too much slow stuff at the moment. I don’t believe Sherco is making the standard model with WP forks anymore as almost all sales were for the factory model with KYB, at least here in Australia where Sherco has a very large following now anyway. Sherco came out with the 500 specifically because us Aussies and importer were begging for it.

I ride extrem and hard enduro in Australia I have two shercos 21 factory and 22 racing both Kym if you ste it up for comfort out of the book on the compression and halfway between comfort and medium on the rebound these bikes are sweet you won’t actually get better Valving on the forks but the shocks high speed dampening is a bit garbage

Yeah when I am shopping for a dirt bike I actually prefer KYB suspension. My WR450F, CRF 450R have KYB but the Showa in the KX250 is pretty good on the trails but I tend to push it at the track. I am 6' & 235 so the firmness of the KYB is decent for a rider like me. On my WR which was only for trails, the suspension was perfect. On my CRF, yeah I had it resprung for the track but still works fine on single track as long as I back it off 4 clicks. I'm no hard core rider so that's probably why the factory suspension is fine for me, but I have learned that proper set up can make a major difference in the riding experience. Our single track in my area of Texas is mostly dirt and roots. Nothing like you have.

I've rarely heard riders complain KYB forks(especially on the Sherco) are to stiff... You've either taken too much compression out or the forks are over-sprung for your weight.

Pulling too much compression out of the fork and shock will actually make it stiffer since it will ride lower in the stroke.
