A year later and this video is still relevant. Mark's numbers would probably be much better (launch/spin) if he used a 9 degree driver IMO. I thought one of his shots launched at 22 degrees! His swing looks really grooved and I would love to have his consistency with either driver. I always enjoy your videos James. Like a fine wine, they improve with age! 😀

Love when you bring mid & high handicap players in to test clubs. There swing speeds and not fast and they do not have a perfect swings. This tells more about a club than pro swings with 120+ swing speeds and are able to adjust there swing to work with any club making any club look like the greatest club on the market when it really isn't good for the average golfer. 2 thumbs up!

@darrenbell79854 жыл бұрын
Same here gone from ts3 to tsi3 only gained 5 / 6 yds carry but dispersion, sound and looks are better on the new model so a no brainer for me

Mark hits both of these very straight! I have both the TSi2 and a TSi3 drivers. TSi3 is not easy to hit. Do love the TSi3 3 wood though - James was right about that one. Also have the TSi2 5 wood - also great. Don't wait several months for the hybrid, get the fairway woods.

@nicknick67884 жыл бұрын
I agree. Show us the stats for Mark with off-the-shelf clubs compared to custom-fit. How much does small tweaks in shaft length, stiffness, loft & lie really make? My guess is that properly fitting an old club would make more difference than upgrading to the latest head

In my opinion I have never played a more reliable and accurate driver than the ts3 with the tensei blue shaft until the new tsi3 Came out. For me the stand out driver this year is the tsi range from Titleist
@suziecorreia70644 жыл бұрын
Always a productive video per usual. Being said, Mark could benefit more from some lessons than purchasing a new driver. It's pretty obvious from this golf pro that Mark hangs back on his back side, w/little to no back knee flex and a very flat rear foot. He never fully transfers his weight to his front side during his swing transition, as evident from his flat front foot and lack of hip movement to his front side. Almost as if he's swinging flat footed. Don't know if Mark has some physical limitations in his lower body, but he is only using his upper body to generate any power. He seems to have the potential to generate even more power w/some instruction. Assuming James is a PGA Pro, he should be able to help Mark correct those issues. The benefit would far exceed any new driver & subsequent fitting. Correct the swing before you get fitted for a new driver.
@japice12 жыл бұрын
Good Video. But if you want to see the difference in these drivers you need to use a high handicap senior golfer 70 Years+ . Then you will make the video great and really sell or not sell the Titleist drivers.
@leijiang894411 ай бұрын
If he can delay the release a little bit, it will knock down the launch angle by 2 degree and reduce the back spin by 500 rpm easily. Better than any new driver can bring to the table.

Hi James, I did indeed jump on a discounted TS3 a few months back. Love it ....but ....about a month after that the Ping G410 was also out on discount. Would probably have gone for that. The G425 is out in NZ now.

Absolutely, i started playing 2 years ago and currently a 5 index. Bought my clubs second hand, ping g irons with regular shafts when i should be using extra stiff and second hand ping woods and second hand callaway driver. My dad’s been playing for 20 years, has new taylormade irons, new titleist woods and drivers, new cleveland wedges, new scotty cameron putter. Always tell him, go get lessons instead of new clubs, but he doesnt listen and keeps a 20 index.

Does anyone else ever notice Marks late heel lift? Balls halfway there and heel comes up but in practice swing it comes up when it should. So begs the question do you really need to kid your back heel or has he formed his fallow through to not lifting his heel and only does it in practice because “your supposed to”? 🤔
@justinstephenson93604 жыл бұрын
I always think that Mid HC Mark's swing looks a bit stiff - maybe needs to work on back and hip flexibility. His spin has always been too high as was the launch angle on this test. I think he needs the 9 degree head and a properly fitted shaft
@tonyk28604 жыл бұрын
James, in your experience would a less stiff shaft work better in cold weather? Similar to the idea a softer ball plays longer in the cold.

It would have been helpful to have seen how Mark would do with the different shafts that are on offer.

Thanks for this, now do I trade up from my TS2..............
@lookkool4 жыл бұрын
Spoiler Alert: Mark swings a bit faster with the TSi2, then manages to hook a 254 yard drive 33 yards left of the target to boost his 230 yard average...the outlier is kept to make it look like the better club is the new one. I bet if Mark was fitted and hit the most forgiving driver model of each brand they would all be within 5-7 yards. No offence to Mark, but he is never going to find huge gains on any club.

What is Marks game driver? It would be interesting to see him hit his standard game diver in tests like these to quantify how he is swinging on the day. Also gives a base line for spin and dispersion.
