when rick did 5 generation driver testing i think the only company that improved from model to model was titleist - so while these might not be out of this world i respect the fact they do improve no matter how small and are not brining our new gear every 6 weeks

Cobra did also. He did Cobra f9, then Cobra Speedzone, then Cobra LTDX and each step up he would gain 5 yards or so on average carry distance. F9 was around 285, SZ was around 290-300, and the LTDX was 300 - 307 I think was his longest with it

Friend of mine played on tour back in the day. At the start of the season he got a gross (dozen dozen), brand new Titleist balata's just to use as his practice balls for the next few months. My eye's spun, but since then always try and use the best quality balls I can to practice with, especially short game. Can't believe people who practice short game with range balls.

I was swinging an old Cleveland Hibore with a R flex shaft. Used to hit it a ton. I was out of golf for awhile and I’ve gained weight and gotten a bit stronger. I went and got fitted for a new driver. Out of 5 different brands I swung the TSi3 improved me the best. My dispersion was great and I went from 105mph club head speed to 114mph with the Hzrdus smoke RDX 6.5. Spin down from 5800!!! To 2700. Went from 240 carry to 285 carry. It’s amazing how different clubs work for different people!! Cheers! Love the content!!

You helped me with your videos I was shooting high 80s to mid 90s and you helped me shoot mid 70s and low 80s now thank you. But I have to have up playing the game for awhile now because my irons and hybrid where stolen from me and I don’t have that kind of money to spend to get the same irons and hybrid my friend lended me his ping irons for the time being but hes starting to play more now so I had to return them back to him.My heart hurts because I love this game you helped me enjoy and grow with this game, and even that my irons and hybrid was stolen from me I will still love this game. Rick- a couple years ago I purchased a TS1 after being fitted by the assistant pro at my home club. I absolutely love it. I need a forgiving driver as I am a high handicap golfer (25) with a slower swing. It only carries about 160-180 yards, 200 yards if I really hit it well, but much straighter. With watching your videos on hitting a driver, I have improved a lot this summer. Keep up the good work. Jim

Just came back from a fitting. Great experience. Tried all the new drivers and the TSi2 came out on top for me. Did not expect it at all especially against the g425, Rogue Max Cobra LTD and Stealth. It makes such a big impact on confidence.
@cheemomugdoo799
@cheemomugdoo799 2 жыл бұрын
Me too, but it was the TSi3 for me. I had been using a 913 for years, and it was just too spinney. The fitter was a bit perplexed as to why since my swing is pretty neutral, but of all the drivers we tried (Mizuno, Callaway, Cobra, Ping, Titleist) it was the best. The Ping was close, and more forgiving, but on the best swings the Titleist was the winner. Of course the TSR's will be out soon, but from this video I bet they will be very close in performance to the TSi series.

Hit the TSi2 and TSi3 drivers today. i I think you nailed the review! Higher handicapper and found the TSi2 more forgiving for me with a tighter landing distribution. Had more issues with control on the TSi3, so my preference was the TSi2. My distance on each was similar with about 250 carry and 260-270 total (trackman, 10-12 deg launch, low spin rate)

Had a custom fitting yesterday and left with the TSi3. My original driver was a 20-year-old Titleist 983k which I love. Did I notice a difference. OH YES! Amazing. You may not notice much if you change every year or two. 20 years? Night and Day. Awesome driver. 25 yards more carry, tighter dispersion. A keeper!

One of my local pros told a guy who asked him if "THIS Driver" which he had in his hands, really added 20 yards, and his reply was, if that was the case, by now I'd be hitting a driver over 600 yards...fixing your swing and contact spot adds yards....get lessons, fix that swing, then get fitted and that will add yards.
@roddnelson1519

I bought the TSi3 to replace the 915. I personally noticed a 10 to 20 yard carry difference. however for me I was able to get a much straighter ball flight and the sound was so much better. Meaty is an accurate description. Quite satisfying. I gave the 915 to a good friend who is undyingly grateful so a win win for me. Thanks Rick for a great review. You are the best!

Bought the TS2 which was an upgrade from my 913 and I'm getting almost 20 more yards on it. The technology put into the TS series is hard to get better when it's already near the top! Love my Titleist driver and bought it a few weeks ago when they're clearing them out... If you can get a ts2 or 3 do it for a fraction of the price!

I had done quite a bit of reading before I went for a fitting today. I had figured I would leave with the G425, but came home with the TSi2. In all I was fitted for: Rouge, G425, TSi2, and Stealth. The Titleist was far and away the most consistent for me and second only in distance to the Stealth. Absolutely love the sound and feel of the TSi2, again, not what I expected, as it wasn’t even on my short list. Happily surprised. Thanks for the review, Rick.

Your review videos keep getting better! Love it! I think it would be cool if you started incorporating more mid to high handicapper data in your reviews. I’m sure most of your subscribers are in that range and it would be interesting to see what this new tech does for a golfer with lower swing speed and higher chance of missing center of the club. Maybe not the best time to start doing it due to quarantine/social distancing but it would be cool to see more of it when you feel it’s safe.

Hard to explain why Tommy Fleetwood and other tour pros who are not contracted to a specific brand have out thin in their bag in and removed the TaylorMade Sim driver. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The TSi3 was the most popular driver at this years US OPEN. Go have a look at the TXG review.

The TXG club reviews are great. There are a lot of tour pros (not contracted) that put a TSi driver in their bag for a reason. The review from Rick was a let down...I don’t believe that he was even fitted for the drivers. I was just fitted into the Tsi3. I told the fitter to find me the best head / shaft combo. I never would have imagined because i originally wanted the ping G410 LSTbut the Tsi3 gave me an average of 4-5 extra mph in ball speed over anything else i tried. I recommend!

I very recently just did a Titleist full bag club fitting. I hit both TSi2 and TSi3. I personally loved the feel of the TSi2, it felt like butter when connecting, it was amazing. I new immediately I liked that driver head. I then hit the TSi3, and it felt like I was hitting a brick, didn't feel good on the connection at all. I'm also coming from a Titleist D913 or 915 I can't remember. Either way, very old tech. The sound is definitely muted on the new drivers compared to my current one. It all comes down to preference, but yes if it isn't going to make that much of a difference for you, then there is no point in switching.

Think they've reached the peak Rick, like you said! Companies need to bring new kit out to generate sales, there are people out there that need the "Newest" version of anything! Look at Apple, and the iPhone, they bring one out every year, and people buy it! In fact, they sell it out, despite cost vs changes/improvements which can be minimal. Feels a bit like they're bringing out the kit for the sake of it, instead of thinking outside the box maybe? Another great video though Rick!! Very useful, and insightful pal!!

@@Peter-ff1tp That's a bit harsh to say about someone who has amassed the number of subscribers that he has. Especially in the golf space. He's been a grinder and has done some really good work. So I will be specific in my criticism. I disagree with his take about this line of drivers. I don't think it's fair to make the statement he did based on such a small sample size. I would almost guarantee that he could get better numbers with some shifting of weight and a shaft change. Is it possible that he is taking the contrarian stance when everyone else so far is raving about it? Of course it is. I wouldn't be surprised to see a "Revisit" video in the future when the TSi3 is being considered the "Driver of the Year"

SO I went through my fitting today for TSi. I walked in with a TS3 and it's for sale. TSi was better in every way. Looks, sound (oh my god it sounds perfect), the feel was 1000x better, the ball speed was only a couple MPH higher, but launch came down 3º, spin came down a couple hundred RPM and I got an extra 18 yards, mostly on the ground thanks to the flatter flight, It's MILES better than TS3

When it comes to drivers it's all about the spin, then feel & looks. All drivers from the big manufacturers are going to get the same ball speed w/in 1 mph or so. COR is maxed out so speed off the face is not going to change. All they can work with is spin, forgiveness and launch by moving weight around. You need to get it dialed in to the right spin rate for you and then it's down to feel and looks. I picked up a G410 and it slots right into the 200-2200 rpm range for me and it goes about as far as a driver can go with my 90-95 mph swing speed. Very happy with it.

Rick - You can’t possibly expect the TSI2 to carry a decent distance when your spin rate is 2800... you’re not giving these clubs a fair shake and it’s not an accurate narrative... especially when you are catering to golfers that aren’t gear heads.
