Wih my cast iron, every so often I just sand it back to smooth metal, re-season it and it's good for another year. The pans I have were made at least before 1959 and are still used daily.. You aren't getting the pan hot enough. The commercial slide off most likely works because of the Leidenfrost Effect. You gotta get the egg or what ever else on a hot pan so the steam helps lift it from the surface. Even with regular pans. You gotta get just the right amount of heat with oil or butter to get the egg not to stick or grip.

You were curious about what SANS PFOA meant, “sans” is like “without” in french so maybe you got a Canadian pan? PFOA is Perfluorooctanoic Acid, which leads to health concerns with exposure such as birth defects, cancer, liver problems etc. It’s used as a nonstick agent. And the black substance on the pan was probably burnt sugar. You might have had a harder time cleaning the coke off of the pan if you let it actually burn. Caramelised sugar is very water soluble, but burnt sugar is not lol. Hope this clears up a few things, great video!

A lot of these nonstick pans do great the first time you use them. Over time the nonstick surface wears off because of improper use and/or washing. I've had these "copper" pans before and use similar ceramic pans currently. They start out really great but the coating slowly wears away after a few years. I always hand wash my pans with a paper towel too. I don't use a scour pad and they rarely ever see the dishwasher. They're not terribly expensive, so it doesn't bother me that much, but it's still kind of a waste since I don't drive to a metal recycling facility to dispose of them. If they even do recycle these types of things. The facility may just throw something like this in the trash anyway.

Can you super heat then on stick coating off the pan? See if you can get it red hot then cool it with water or something to see if the coating flakes off?

@TylerTube the “sticky substance” in the commercial was chocolate. I work in a store that sells these and has that commercial running on loop all day. Gets annoying and never knew that I would need the info that I just gave you but there it is lol. Have a great day man. You’re awesome and keep up the amazing content!

Ya but itis not like he put anything in it that he was going to eat. It's not like he did this by cooking breakfast for the family. So I ask you, why would it matter if he washed it or not for this video.

@@josephcosta8884 he did eat shit out of that pan that was 100% made in china, so it's got nasty shit on it 100%
